Still a few pages behind so my apologies if you've clarified this, but the "monster" isn't FF16 right? It's just one of the rumored 3. Allegedly, of course. This I have heard but I think a lot of people are expecting this.

Seemingly, Xbox Series S has been confirmed. It's on packaging material for the new controller.
He's got a great track record and he leaked re8 almost a year ago.Why are some people around here even giving this 'dusk golem' the respect of 'benefit of doubt', like as if he is a genuine insider but maybe he's got his info wrong or because ResidenyEvil is still in early development so that explain bad optimisation and his story is semi-true?!
Why can't this just simply be pure unadulterated SHIT that dusk golem has made up? What looks obvious he's seen the PS5 RE trailer running at 15fps (which BTW didn't even look like gameplay) so decided to fabricate this bogus story/fud out of desperation for one-upmanship. I don't know who this dusk golem is, is he really someone with a trackrecord of being correct in the past and should be taken seriously??
If I understand correctly and saying in a simple way, the HZD is optimized in order of make a port to PC you have to options:Hmm. Interesting opinion from the dev. And what do you think?
Interesting thing is, the Switch has its big event in January to show price and date, then launched 2 months later in March, and it went fine. Switch sold well, everything worked out. I wonder if Sony and Microsoft saw that and realized they could take their time.Yeah. Looking like last week of August, maybe even Labor Day before we get the full details on XSX or PS5.
Two months till it launches by then if it follows the timeline of consoles past..maybe even less.
The rush to secure a pre-order for either will be an absolute madhouse.
Grubb says it's 3 weeks away, which means the "Xboxing day" aka Lockhart day was pushed forward. Both MS and Sony are taking the piss with this chicken-shit play, be confident in your product and lay it all out.
Imagine, if Sony also delay their planned August event until after this? yikes!
It's a traditional console, expect it to look like One S instead of a tower/cube which you may see floating around.
What's the consensus on this, think the photo with the S is legit?
Yoshinori Ono departs Capcom.I can't see it.
"X percent weaker", "X percent stronger", "More powerful", "Less powerful".Well PS5 is ~15% weaker, with Series X being ~18% more powerful.
I think he always said Xbox was more powerful of the two.
Even that is not the only real questions exist many others like:"X percent weaker", "X percent stronger", "More powerful", "Less powerful".
12.15 TFLOPs and 10.28 TFLOPs are THEORETICAL peak numbers used for measuring single-precision (32-bit) floating-point performance. The real question here is, which console is gonna get closer to that peak TFLOPs number?
Like I said before, it's pointless arguing over which one's more powerful based on a theoretical TFLOPs number which we know both consoles will NEVER hit unless VALU (Vector ALU) utilization is at 100%. Hitting 100% VALU utilization is IMPOSSIBLE unless you're conducting insane benchmarks on the consoles which tries to use ALL the CUs in parallel for computing.
I mean, can you even blame the guy when there's shit like this out there?Even that is not the only real questions exist many others like:
-How the RT is affected for CU and clock?
-How each console will be able to use the rasterizer units and other component of the GPU ?
-How the APIs of each system will affect the development?
-How the SSD of each box will be use it ?
And I can go on with many more points, that is why people like Matt Hargett is just tired of people
thinking they can oversimplified how complex the development is or even worst use terms they
don't understand as argument for its platform war.
No comment on this particular rumour because there's obviously more to it...It seems the RE8 thing didn't cause as much warring as I thought it would. Even some Xbox dudes were like "WTF". I mean, if RE7 runs at 1080p/60fps on base PS4, how could RE8 don't run at least at 1080p/60fps on PS5 if the console is better in every single way?. Yeah, Dusk Golem has a very good track record and I honestly think he was just passing what he heard but it just doesn't makes sense. We've seen next gen stuff running at 2160p/60fps, 2160p/30fps and 1440p/30fps and in some cases with ray tracing enabled and we are supposed to believe that, what appears to be a cross gen game, can't run at 1080p/60fps?... something doesn't add up. But from the posts in the thread it seems as if they just took the PC version and ported it to PS5 with minor optimization which makes sense but Dusk Golem could have avoided all that unpleasantness if he just said that from the very beginning.
It'll be fine by launch. I don't expect it to run 4K native on the ps5, but then again I don't expect many games to run 4K 60 on the ps5. I also don't expect that enough people will have OLED'S or the 120 htz displays in their living rooms they claim to have to begin with. Most multiplats will run better on the X, even timed exclusives IMO. MS will get their act together and eventually show what 12 TF and the XVA can do. Most Sony exclusives will continue to WOW us to the point where we're questioning what black magic they used to squeeze some movie level imagery out of a 9-10.2 TF box. This gen will be great, things will change but not that much in my eyesIt seems the RE8 thing didn't cause as much warring as I thought it would. Even some Xbox dudes were like "WTF". He's already going back on what he said...What did I miss? oh wait yeah i stumbled across resetera where someone named Dusk Golem said PS5 version of Re8 runs super bad as seen in the weird mid 20's frame rate in the reveal trailer and media starts to run articles saying ps5 games are struggling, dusk golem says multiplatform games are struggling on PS5? What's going on? Any credibility to these claims?
Again we were talking about FUD. I don't even believe halo will look like that at launchYou know you've indirectly just threw Halo Infinite under the bus.![]()
OK now Matt from REEEEEE has put these FUD rumors about RE8 & PS5 resolution/FPS to rest, then Matt concluded that the differences between XSX & PS5 are smallest differences in any generation of consoles, just like I expected, now back to normal where Xbox gets its ass smacked by PlayStation!

He's already going back on what he said...
He also claimed that Xbox could price their console cheaper than PlayStation because they would make up the money through Game Pass.... even though Game Pass makes no profit. So, I'd take anything this guy says with a massive truck load of salt.
He seems to have a distinct Xbox bias to things he says and has leaked RE8 and Silent Hill, which only damages PlayStation in terms of impact of reveals.
Should be an almost imperceptible difference.... a slight difference in resolution maybe in a couple of games.Let me get this right, almost all PS4 and Xbox One games when both consoles launched, ended up running at higher resolution and higher or more stable frame rates on PS4 compared to Xbox One. Now with Xbox Series X having 18% headroom in raw gpu prowess, could that really translate to bigger differences between either consoles for multiplatform wise? Also isn't PS5 much easier to tap into and develop/port games for?
Not having ago at you Bryank, but some people can like Playstation without having to hate Xbox, and vice versa.Anyone listen to Sacred Symbols and think Chris comes across as way too Xbox biased?
It has kinda gotten on my nerves lately. It's a PS podcast, not an Xbox one...

Because my understanding is next gen tech differences between both isn't as significant as PS4 vs Xbox One. the performance delta differences between base PS4 and OG Xbox One was so much that you could see the resolution and frame rate differences from day one. For crying out loud you'd 720p games on Xbox One man meanwhile PS4 had native 1080p for most games right from launch day. I just don't see this happening next gen, perhaps if Series X does native 4K for a 60fps title, it might have frame rate dips meanwhile PS5's native 4k would be checkerboarded 4K but operating at stable 60fps or if it's a 4K 30fps title I'd expect native 4K in some rare multiplatform instances where Series X could perform at native 4K but with frame rate dips meanwhile PS5 does CB4K with stable 30fps. I mean wasn't this the case between PS4 Pro and Xbox One X?
I think there are meaningful architectural differences between the 2 consoles this time around that didn't exist in the last gen. If the UE5 demo was any indication I would expect 4k to be an afterthought, with that level of asset quality being more ubiquitous (plus no loading times again). But in my opinion the most stark differences will still be the exclusives and who wins that war.Because my understanding is next gen tech differences between both isn't as significant as PS4 vs Xbox One. the performance delta differences between base PS4 and OG Xbox One was so much that you could see the resolution and frame rate differences from day one. I think it's funny that this version was months old and will work perfectly at launch. I heard the same about an XSX launch game but that couldn't be rightJesus, you really need to keep your warrioring to Twitter.
I'd say those are 2 different things. One is a game that isn't running smoothly but it is expected to run better when the propper optimization is done. The other one is a game already running smoothly but some people expect it to have a higher graphical fidelity at launch. I get your point, but the issues are not the same.I think it's funny that this version was months old and will work perfectly at launch. I heard the same about an XSX launch game but that couldn't be right
Needless to say, I posted that in the wrong thread...haNot having ago at you Bryank, but some people can like Playstation without having to hate Xbox, and vice versa.
This is stupid and makes no sense. Gamepass is losing money right now (long term investment). Selling consoles at a big loss and lose even more money with GP makes no sense. Actually, Sony is more interested in providing a better price for PS5 than Microsoft for Xbox.He also claimed that Xbox could price their console cheaper than PlayStation because they would make up the money through Game Pass.... even though Game Pass makes no profit. Exactly.... all his actions seem to be to undermine PlayStation. That is the common motive behind all is actions when you line them up and look for a commonality....This is stupid and makes no sense. One thing that caught my attention was that he claims to have known about Fable since 2018 but never said a word until Microsoft officially confirmed it. And that made me wonder, why he didn't do the same for Silent Hill?Exactly.... all his actions seem to be to undermine PlayStation. Yeah, he didn't want to steal their thunder IMO.One thing that caught my attention was that he claims to have known about Fable since 2018 but never said a word until Microsoft officially confirmed it. And that made me wonder, why he didn't do the same for Silent Hill?
Xbox One was less powerful and a PITA for developers... I don't think it will show that much unless the dev just wants to port it from PC straight into PS5 like Dusk Golem said. Again, the console is the easiest to develop for, but lazy devs gonna lazy devs.Let me get this right, almost all PS4 and Xbox One games when both consoles launched, ended up running at higher resolution and higher or more stable frame rates on PS4 compared to Xbox One. I thought they would do just this... make the console and load it with windows and let you do all the PC stuff but then have Game Pass and all the other stuff on there. You know what could make Xbox Series X sell more than PS5, just talking to a friend about this idea. If Microsoft branded Xbox Series X as an affordable 'gaming pc' offering you top quality performance and allows you to go windows mode on the console for your daily spreadsheets, word document and web browser needs.

The real difference between PS4 and Xone was not the TFs, but rather the 3 times bandwidth difference.Let me get this right, almost all PS4 and Xbox One games when both consoles launched, ended up running at higher resolution and higher or more stable frame rates on PS4 compared to Xbox One. "If I made anything confusing, I do apologize. I more meant to comment passively but I unintentionally made it more about what I said, and that's on me. I still have heard what I've heard, but I want to make it clear I'm speaking not as someone who has specifically gone out of his way to collect data from multiple people in a research fashion, just someone with some friends/acquaintances who are making games for PS5 & Xbox X right now and their personal experiences. And I thought that tidbit would be interesting to throw out as I tend to think many are being a bit too down on Xbox, but I think the climate when some more details come out will be more interestingly even between the two than so one-sided."
