Rocksteady guy confirmed in stream it's an new Adventure game that can be played Solo or Coop.

CD describe Avengers in much the same way in their initial press release. I think the jury is still out on this being GAAS. Seeing some of the crap Avengers got on initial reveal I doubt Rockstready want to kick off two years of build up having to answer a bunch of GAAS questions off the bat.

We already have a bunch of people on twitter complaining about the suicide squad trailer being "CGI"
That means people are really impressed with the visuals, they just don't know it yet

Honestly I wish every game trailer would clearly announce what you are looking at.
We don't know if it's real time. So for now it could pretty much be CG.

I'd be happy if it wasn't.

Its was smart of xbox and sony to clearly label in-engine and ingame content so they dont get this confused response, and rocksteady will likely learn from this experience.
i am 100% positive this is in-engine footage. on the first minute one can spot the 2d smoke sprites, then the ambient occlusion artifacts under the debris, and then the closeup of harley's face revealing her hair geometry (as well as complete lack of hair physics).

of course the game is 2 years off so the final product may end up different but this is a real showing

Okay, i'm just saying it being in engine doesn't matter much without confirmation it's real time. You can take a minute to render a frame in engine

i see your point. All i can say is i dont really see anything jumping out here that would increase the per frame cost beyond real time. its not finished so its probably not running consistently, but its about in line with the other AAA next-gen only showings

Honestly I havent been keeping up with my phone last several days and I see a lot of gaming related texts that I need to go through just havent made the time for it.

Had the funeral today for my mother and most family will be heading back home tomorrow and will start catching up on news/rumors one day next week.

Thank you all again for the kind words here and on Twitter.

I'm sorry for your loss, my condolences

I believe Tempest Engine is better audio chip, because people said PS3 games had good audios, that's because Cell in ps3 was a beast in audio processing. Cerny also mentioned Cell is best processor for audio handling. Don't get me wrong , Xbox also has powerful chip and will support 3d audio but i still think sony will use their own algorithm For HRTF( Cerny mentioned they will use Sony's proprietary algorithm) and will have better sound. IMO.
Both have a incredible audio any person who think its PC just because their motherboard has a audio chip is the same well
be disappointing, so then is probably they will have to use some CUs to have the same level of audio.

The good thing we have both consoles with that hardware is now the dev can foccus is take advantage of them.

Regarding which will have better audio well I know enough to know I don't fucking idea of this, I will wait until some big
studio which already have people specialized in this topic make some comments.

It's a CG trailer
For me just looks in engine, look that tree, if this is CGI then was "cheap".

One of the things in life you'll never be ready for. My deepest condolences.

Listen up Mine sweeper, i have had enough of your abuse for one day. All i have been, is nice to you, and you keep abusing me.

Also, have you been out on your morning jog again.

I was wondering of who made this big sinkhole in my region. Thanks for the details.

As it looks, someone has peed and shat in it as well.

Gah...(incredible video!) but wasn't there some dev. who was developing a game for Series X and who also posted a water simulation video and also had said or implied that the Series X was better hardware for their game? He may not have implied that and I'm trying to remember so my memory may have failed me.

I cannot remember and do not believe in initiating warrior tales and mentality but for the sake of the tech. science, I couldn't remember this person 🧠.
Would be so damn interesting to see that, please see if you can find? ( time to return the favour you know wot I mean eh :messenger_winking: )

Did any of you guys read that in Deathloop when your gun jams the trigger of the DualSense will physically jam too? Thats pretty cool.

It's all fun and immersive until someone thinks their trigger got stuck and breaks the mechanism trying to get it to move

There are also people whom mess gas&break in car or think their phone can be charged in a microwave oven

Stupid ignorant people should not be in the way of innovations.

If someone breaks their controller, they have to buy new one and not cry about it like childish NHL/fifa gamers whom throw theis into wall and use more force than someone dead lifting 200kg, and then cry how bad controllers are, same madness.

THATS A PS TV OMGGGG I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT
I found one in a box recently. I think I'll put in away again and sell on auction in 10 years so it can buy me one game :D It's pretty useless unless you want Minecraft for kids or something like that.

Cyberpunk didn't get into proper(full development) until Blood & Wine was finished in May 2016 as the team wasn't anywhere near the size it currently stands at. It might've been revealed in January of 2013 but the team could only have one out of two choices, either put Witcher 3 on hold which was much further along in development than Cyberpunk or the other way around. After they were finished with the game and all its dlcs did they finally went full speed ahead with Cyberpunk, making it their primary focus. Cyberpunk took about 5 years of full development. Now the studio is so large that they've already expanded and have 3 projects in development (i think one of the leads mentioned how many projects they're working on in an interview), a multiplayer expansion for Cyberpunk set to debut sometime in 2021, an unannounced AAA rpg and a new Witcher game(either a reboot or a spinoff as Geralt's story had concluded with Wild Hunt). Their quality standards and reluctance and continuous shaming of MTX's in videogames speaks volumes about them preferring quality over quantity and taking their time with their games. They've consistently shown that it doesn't matter if a game takes 3 years or 5 years or more to make so long as you take your take your time to develop it and don't rush to get it out the door and release it broken. A new Witcher is possibly 2024 and beyond assuming they want to prioritise development of their new IP after Cyberpunk Multiplayer. PsErebus is just full of shit like always.
The author of Witcher books sued CDPR for more money but they came to an agreement and probably that was also when they got the licence for next games. It'll be a spin-off, probably Ciri's story because Geralt is out of question (they could finish his story but I doubt gamers would want it, it's not fun). CP2077 is a pain to make but I hope they can do it, probably not at launch so be patient. I'll buy the game if it runs better on PS5 with BC or after it's patched for it.

It's not, we have realtime quality character models, and 2d billboards for distant smoke effects. Its in engine.
We also seem to have a nice global illumination solution with at least a couple bounces, as well as raytraced reflections. Can't tell if deadshot's jetpack has volumetric smoke but it seems like it as well.
But characters still move like they weigh nothing... Okay, it's a superhero game, I shouldn't expect that. I'm just not hyped at all.

Lets not forget the so called 'hospitality' gifts like the first one of the X1X APU Microsoft sent to Richard as a paper weight, and they only gone and now sent him an XSX APU aswell WTF!

I'm sure if DF was a corporation then these gifts and trips to MS HQ will surely be illegal falling under the 'Bribery Act 2010'
I think it's against Youtube TOS to shill for a company without marking your videos as paid promotion.

I never got a promo email...WTF?
Me neither. I used to receive beta invites (OS, games) and various promo emails but those stopped for some reason. I still get confirmations of purchases so it's not my spam filter. Sony hates me, it seems. They don't write.

I don't remember about the UE5 but I remember was not so impressive compare to other things in the demo.

So if you mean real fluid dynamic as a representation close to 100% to reality as you can make in a small-medium scale in
blender and houdini then I think not, still just to expensive (for CPU and GPU) but that doesn't mean the devs will not have
something in the middle, right now UE and Unity are very good in that but not at that level for performance reasons.

Of course you will see very real water simulation in "small" games where that physics is an essential part of the mechanics
basically is a similar situation than we have with path raytracing. For other bigger games like new Horizon the water will
improve a lot compare to the current game.

Unity and UE4:

Well i mean something like this, old tech demo from 7 years ago, we will have water like this in games like The last of us 3 o next uncharted/tomb raider type of games ?

There is enough computational power to get rid of shader based water with surface deformation only ( when is done properly like in assassin's creed games ) ?

the video Elog linked is about offline water simulation for cgi applications, you won't see that in videogames aside from canned animations.
Real time fluid simulation is possible in next gen consoles but may be used sparingly as its computationally expensive
there's a few demos of Unreal's niagara fluid simulation here, this is what we can expect (timestamped):

Yes i watched this video, really interesting! Do you think it's comparable to this old nvidia demo ? We should see something similar in adventures games (tlou, uncharted, tomb raider) ?

You can make water like this in a game but why waste so much resources on one aspect only? Unless it's important for gameplay.

For the show! Of course! That's why i can't wait this kind of calculations will be common and not so heavy, if not this incoming gen, i'm sure next gen i will have this type of water almost....everywhere! ^^

In that scale I see it possible in the next gen but always the player interact with the water like with HFB.

I was forgotten the AC water I really want to know how they will able to archive that in a game of that scale. I think maybe the physics of waves for example maybe
works similar as the destruction of big assets in Gears, where basically you made the calculus offline in Houdini.

Regarding the shaders I will not be so sure as many game probably when start to using RT with this kind of materials will see a big impact in the performance.

AC has had great water shaders since part IV but just look at that...

In AC the only interaction of water with the character is additional animation (ripple in front and wake in the back). There's no physics involved. Of course here it's also faked but looks good enough if you don't need any interaction with the environment, just visuals.

Would be so damn interesting to see that, please see if you can find? ( time to return the favour you know wot I mean eh :messenger_winking: )

Found it! It's Grant Kot ( K kotsoft ). So to be accurate I'm not sure he believes his game would run better on Series X (please correct me if I'm wrong here, as perhaps he does which is perfectly fine 🍻) but he stated "Lastly, barrier to entry for PS5 is pretty high. No publicly available Graphics API specs or code and pricy devkits."

(source: https://www.neogaf.com/goto/post?id=257767950)

Fascinating work hes doing and at least one tweet here:

I can see some uncharted type game using it as a destructible backdrop element (shooting a fish tank, water pours out, etc) however don't expect this level of simulation for bodies of water larger than a kiddy pool. Its not worth it, though you can expect a greater level of water surface deformation in general, so even if it's not physically simulated it will react more realistically to the player

XSX has a tad faster CPU so technically true but in reality the difference is neglectable. But the second part is more important. DirectX is widely available so he can develop on PC and port it to Xbox. But don't worry. A lot of people will be working on similar things next gen. Those CPUs finally have some power.

Edit: found something I was looking for

Yeah but we are talking about see game which looks closer physics simulation like NVIDIA loves to
do in tech demos with Physics and how much will be possible in new gen.

Naughty Dog are bunch sick genius an any tech and art department.

Made me laugh when rich defended fast resume as 9 GB write then 9 GB read.

They would kill the SSD if that was the way it worked lol. SSD dont like constant writes.

Also cave is 0.5 GB, should we tell him ?
Yep fast resume is clearly not the way to go with SSD. Cerny's solution (load directly to specific levels/modes) is exactly what was needed. MS will probably copy Sony later in the gen.

Don't worry, consumer-friendly MS and friendly trusty Seagate got your back. You can keep on buying the storage expansions. No worries.

the hint here is spider man in the background at the 00:09s

And you noticed a spiderman logo, not everyone did.....which clearly would need Sony approval.....

There should be a prize - I created a new thread as found some spiderman ray tracing pictures...

Sony clearly have some connections with localray technology which will give massive performance benefits for Ray tracing and performance.

Let's be honest, we all want new information, that's why we are here.

Microsoft has disclosed a lot more about their console.

Sony, on the other hand, has been so tight-lipped. I will say, just like you guys I am super annoyed at this, it's only a few months now till launch. The hype is very real but I am also losing my patience with them.

the good news friends, on all 3 sides of the argument, Sony, Microsoft and pc users, the information is coming. I don't, include switch users as friends. (Dirty creatures the lot of them. Sorry Mod of War Mod of War ).

This place is going to be on fire when all that new jizz rains down from the sky, :messenger_grimmacing_

Be patient friends, our time is coming and it will be Glorious.
