Meh. Honestly doesn't look next-gen. Nice style, but Sonic needs a major makeover to actually move him to the next level of visuals, and the bgs and enemies look weak. Unlike other flamebait, this actually looks like something the Xbox could do. The resolution and aspect ratio is the only thing that hints at next-gen right now IMO. I'm assuming these are 360 shots and/or a very early build. PEACE.

Uh, 720p is merely a minimum for 360. There's nothing to indicate the 360 couldn't do these shots at 1080i.

I think it looks pretty nice. I think the Sonic model could have been done this gen but the enviroments look a little too nice for this current generation.

Alright, they really need to start using fur shading. This will not do next-gen. I must say though that the screen where he is running full speed through the grass definitely has be excited for a traditional next-gen sonic game as opposed to this Sonic Riders business.

Ack! Beaten to the punch! But to add~ look I liked Sonic in "the real world" in Adventure. It was nice and new. In SA2 is sucked. Heroes levels were more along the line of classic Sonicworld looks but still sucked.

Look Sonic Team. Ya did Green Hill Zone in 3D for Sonic Adventure 2 and it ruled. Make the levels like that again! No more of this real world nonsense >_<;

Looks good, only it'll have the Adventure series gameplay. Sega screws up again.

Looks very good and epic to boot. I hope it's not as limited to rails as Sonic Adventure was in that outdoor shot, it's just screaming "explore me".

Edit: In the first shot, the giant, translucent blob in the far left looks like Chaos. Looks nice.

God no. Why is it that everything that has it's origins in 2D or is cartoonish and suddenly it's all 'they should cel-shade it'. Save cel-shading for the times when it actually has an impact and a relevance to the art style beyond the game being cartoonish.

For reference, hedgehogs also do not wear sneakers, do not have giant heads and are not blue.
