NFL 2013 Week 4 IOTI - For a good time call Sweet Pea

I think Steelers fans have done a remarkable job in accepting their team's downfall. They have processed the end of the Big Ben era, grieved it, and started caring about baseball again.

Wouldn't it be more like the Santonio era? Or Plax? Or Aaron Smith? No one calls the Ravens title runs the Flacco era

Been a Seahawks fan my whole life. Vaguely remember Warren Moon as our QB when I first learned of it. When I was like 8-10 I went to the Seahawks kids training thing they had in Spokane and afterwards some players would sign things for us. The only jersey I've gotten was a Jon Kitna one.
I'm a native of the Seattle area, and lived in a few spots in King and Pierce county before my family moved east. Unfortunately, I didn't really get into football until later. I was more a Mariners fan as a little kid, and still am to some extent, but I find it hard to follow non-playoff baseball in general these days.

So was I. I've never been to a Seahawks game but for like 4 years my mom and I went to a Mariners game (fan day, the last Sunday home game). Even won a jersey there one year.

I remember getting one of those small souvenir bats at a game then promptly losing it. Think it was with the old "S" logo too, although the newer compass logo is probably better.

I'd think it be the best player on the team, so Ben. Or Troy.

And our era ran from 2000 through 2012. 9 Playoff appearances. 4 AFC Championship Games. 2 Superbowl Titles.

The Ray Lewis Era.

And it's done.

Ben was really good for a while. Flacco has never been good. Also, Ray Lewis.
Polamalu is the best pick, since that defense started to slip as soon as he did

Much like the Steelers, the Giants super bowl teams will be remembered by their QB even though their defenses had a hell of a lot more to do with those championships than him.

What? Ben played like crap in both Super Bowls they won. I'll give you the 2nd Giants-Pats Super Bowl but the first one (outside of the David Tyree catch) is remembered for the Giants stopping arguably the most explosive offense in history.

It's not easy being the Jacksonville Jaguars.

We learned Friday that the NFL asked the winless team to strip rookie Denard Robinson of the ambiguous "OW" (or, offensive weapon) label on Jacksonville's official roster.

The request comes a full three months after the Jaguars draped Robinson with the title amid reports he would play 10 to 15 snaps per game at running back, receiver, quarterback, fullback and kick returner.

A league spokesman told "Around the League" that the request was issued because "OW" isn't a recognized position.

At least not in Jacksonville, where Robinson has played just 12 snaps all season, rushing for five yards on three carries out of the Wildcat. He's also returned a pair of kickoffs and lost a fumble.

By late Friday afternoon, Jacksonville had listed its fifth-round pick as a receiver on the team's website, officially killing the last bit of fun the Jaguars might have in 2013.

edit: Is there a reason why all fines seem to end in a 1000 this year? $21,000, $31,000 etc?

This is going to sound controversial but I don't mean it to be.

Baseball is for the mentally challenged, old people and racists.

I was a pirates fan growing up until I realized what a shitty sport it was. I would rather play or watch golf. Both are more exciting than baseball.

I couldn't get away from the Indians and Pirates games no matter where I went yesterday

I'd rather watch WNBA highlights

Good morning.

I'm at work, "training"

Go Seahawks.
Is that a regular thing now on Saturdays?

Fixed that for me.

Soccer is boring shit.
It was kind of interesting here in Lafayette cause our Swampcats were a dysfunctional team and they used to scrum on the field but thats besides the point. Its a boring sport.
Hockey on the other hand is kinda fun to watch sometimes.

My 50" Panny Plasma died on me last night. It was only two years old. Turned it off and it made a weird popping noise, and now when I turn it on the power light just blinks 10 times and nothing happens.

Rocking a 720p 32" on the coffee table for the time being, haha.

Sounds like a controller board shorted. It's repairable by a technician but most likely would require servicing by a Panasonic specialist since worst case the board needs replacing. If the screen itself failed you wouldn't hear a thing.

If your plasma is still under warranty you can call Pana up and have them refer you to someone for repair, which is infinitely preferrable to trying to ship the thing.

Unfortunately it's out of warranty... Thanks for the help, though. I'll call Panasonic today and see what they suggest. I just have a feeling it's going to cost more than it's worth.

I have a little Samsung 720p 25" monitor that reverted to demo mode and wont go back to PC mode anymore. Probably a board problem that can be fixed but I wonder if its worth it.
