the League is a weird show. It can have it's funny moments but a lot of the times it feels like the wrote the script like 5 minutes before shooting.

He's always active during football season, does a regular weekly podcast with Cousin Sal during this time, and is hard at work on his NBA preview (and probably working on his new NBA show) with Jalen. He's not taking any sort of break.

My point is he's not going to be taking a break. He'll still be working behind the scenes on his NBA stuff. If he wanted a break he could have easily taken one in July or August when the sports scene was dead.
