NFL 2014 Week 6 |OT| The League of Frauds

If benoit or Eddie didn't die the way they did cena would never have been pushed today.

Steroid testing and removal of moves that pretty much encouraged concussions have keeper cena around because Vince likes guys with big muscles.

Its why guys like Lex Lugor got pushed even thought they were never good in the ring or on the Mic.

Except that Cena was already getting pushed when both guys were still alive.

So tired this morning. It feels like Mondays drag even more than usual after a tough loss.

I was impressed with the way the Dolphins bounced back in the second half after looking abysmal in the first but you can't give a guy like Rodgers a chance to drive down the field and end it. I knew the game was over as soon as Miami ran a running play on third and long followed by a punt.

Overall the defense played well, though. Front seven played especially well but the secondary was a little suspect at times.

I don't know, kind of unsure on this team right now. I don't think Tannehill or Philbin are long term solutions but the team has talent and should be capable of winning some games. Bears game should be interesting.

One thing that has been a hallmark of the Tom Coughlin era for the Giants is inconsistency. The one year that everything worked together was in 2008, but the Plaxico situation and a one dimensional passing scheme brought the season to a premature ending.

Last night was a complete lack of execution by the offense and fundamental issues like tackling for the defense. The offensive line, that I thought was getting it together over the last few games regressed to being one of the worst in the league. The Eagles didn't even play that well.

I'm not interested in being mediocre. I can't say that blowing it up is the answer, but something has to change.

But here we are, practically one-third of the way through the season, and the Lions have the NFL's best defense. After five games, you can't call it luck or a fluke. The defense made Aaron Rodgers look ordinary and inept, and two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning had his worst game of the season against the Lions.

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2014/10/12/lions-beat-vikings/17156365/

"We can be great," Fairley said as reporters gathered around his locker after the game. "We can be great, but we're not there yet."

Great?

"Great," Fairley said. "We can be the best ever, in my eyes."

While that might be a bit of hyperbole, the Lions are 4-2 and tied atop the NFC North with the Green Bay Packers because of a dominant defense that beat, battered and belittled Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater on Sunday.

I love this team. We're hitting that perfect window of a young, extremely talented, well coached and a team with comradery. This is our year.

Restore the Roar 2014.

Bengals WR AJ Green told ESPN's Bob Holtzman that, due to his toe injury, he does not expect to play in Sunday's game vs. Colts.

just how bad is this toe

Coughlin and Tomlin share something in common.

I am really tired of Tomlin. The Browns were a superior team (more on that later). But every year we give 2-4 games away that were within reach but we end up giving away because of mental mistakes. And it happens at every level. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching, etc.

Speaking of the Browns. I have been saying for years that it would be nice to see that rivalry renewed again and for the Browns to be competitive.

Fuuuuuuuuuuck that

I forgot how ugly the people of Cleveland were (you have to see people when they are happy to accurately judge how ugly they are). Fuck that team. Fuck that city. Fuck that franchise and fuck Hoyer, the apparent Steelers killer. Other than the Browns fucking up the Bungles and Ravens I hope they lose every single game and get relocated to England.

And :lol @ kas abandoning Fatford and the offense and going to the defense (which does look legit). Kas doesn't know this but you need great qb play to win the SB so while the Lions might be contenders I think in the end they will remain pretenders (assuming they make the playoffs).

Lions need to look at their kicking techniques.

No way that this is all on the kicker anymore.

Least he made one....

I doubt that's it, given he has been here for barely a week. A vet isn't going to have his kicking technique changed by a week of practice.

Winds were 17MPH yesterday and even fucked up the ref's mics. Granted a vet shouldn't go 1/3 due to wind...but a vet who hasn't kicked in a game since last season, and who is 6 weeks sober? I still have faith. If he misses anything below 55yds inside at Ford Field then we'll have a problem.

The Browns' next three opponents (JAX, OAK, TB) have one single win among them.

After those three, we have Cincy (on a Thursday) and Houston.

And then, Josh Gordon comes back.

Feeling pretty good about the rest of this season. Prettyyyyyy, prettyyyyyy, prettyyyyyy good. Assuming Hoyer stays healthy, which is, of course, a big assumption.

You make a pretty convincing argument about why the FCC was wrong to eliminate the blackout rule...

Still can't believe that timeout Philbin called when the Packers had 4th and 10 after a sack and fumble...

Just let it go... Just let it go...
You just got beat.

That was an insane drive by Rodgers. He can be pretty clutch on the road (total bitch at home though). He had 2-3 amazing plays. Sometimes the other guy is just a little bit better.

Take solace that if your team continues to play like they did on Sunday good things will happen.

I wish I could say the same friend!

I'm actually really worried about next week's game.

Trap game 100 percent!

Two emotional wins and now we're on the road against a winless team?

TRAP!

I thought that game was over as soon as the Packers settled for the FG

Miami definitely should've played their last drive more aggressively... I don't know what they were thinking with that run call on 3rd, even if their D was doing well up until that point

I'm hoping the Browns acquired a taste for curb stomping yesterday - one that will persist through this soft portion of our schedule.

Of course, but the Dolphins made it easier than it needed to be. They called a TO twice on that drive, once before the 4th and 10 conversion and once before the TD. How does a TO benefit Miami more than the Packers in either of those situations?

Philbin said they did it so they could see the formation the Packers were using, but on the TD the Packers used the same formation before and after the TO and they still had a LB in single coverage on Quarless with no help. It didn't benefit them at all! Philbin is an idiot, he sucks at late game clock management.

Dolphins are playing better but they are screwed if they can't find a way to beat good teams. Bears, Chargers, Lions, Bills, Broncos, Ravens, Pats are all still on the schedule.

Agreed, I have a better feeling about him though, can't wait to see him at Wembley!

I reallllly hope Megatron and Bush are there too!

I also must say last night was so solid on defense, I was just in awe in how we handled the whole game and the amount of 3 and outs sure rookie QB but hell it was a good watch. Roll on next week!

Man Atlanta is fucking awful. You can tell they've already given up on the season. Pretty much the only person on the team who even gives a crap is Matt Ryan. He looked like he was about to cry out of frustration in the post-game. Jared Allen hyping up the crowd in our own stadium on a 4th down is just demoralizing. Worst team and worst fans in the NFL by far. Kind of wish they'd relocate so I don't have to watch this anymore.

Also fuck the refs with that bogus late hit call and then the no-call on the helmet to helmet. You know you are back in the cellar of the NFL when the refs are abusing you in your own stadium.

Dimitroff blew the draft the last 5 years. They gave too much to get Julio and most of the defense picks have not worked out well.
Ol is in bad shape. Jackson as a RB is a bust.

Man I was screaming at my TV at the end of the Fins game. I cant believe 2 different defenders didnt even try and keep the GB guy in bounds on the fake spike play. All they had to do was stop his forward progress and the game was over. The Pats are the luckiest team by far in the regular season.

Wes, can you please remove the "yankee" part from yankeehater's user name?

I feel it would more accurately reflect his persona.

That's a gauntlet of three quarterbacks of the future. I would be worried.

It's almost amazing how terrible our team is, especially our defense. Receivers dropping balls would probably make a highlight reel for our defense's best moments.

It'll be very interesting to see how the Lions defense play against the Saints at home. The Saints struggle on the road but it'll be an inside game which might be easier for them. Our d-line is propping up the secondary but to be fair, Darius Slay is playing well at CB. We stopped Rodgers, I don't think stopping an already struggling Drew Brees will be harder but I'm still concerned.
