Seems about right. How many games is Shazier getting?
If Shazier does it two games in row the way Burfect did along with about 4 or 5 other dirty plays this season I am all for suspending him for the next 3 games. Hell make it the next season if he does that shit.

Floyd you just bought the Browns another 200 years of suffering with that post.

God definitely reads NeoGAF and he remembers who all the Patriots fans and supporters are.

The good news for you is that hell might be a slight improvement over Ohio.

He says, being a graduate of Oberlin.

Also, silly Bionic.. Acting like that Ohio isn't the 8th Circle of Hell. The only thing untouched by the sadness of the rest of the state is Columbus, Ohio

that's the word on the street

i think any of us would do the same if we were in mick's shoes!

I can see why.

Full release on Burfict's suspension:

VONTAZE BURFICT of the Cincinnati Bengals has been suspended without pay for the first three games of the 2016 regular-season for repeated violations of safety-related playing rules.

Burfict’s most recent violation came with 22 seconds remaining in last Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when he was penalized for unnecessary roughness for using his shoulder to make forcible contact to the head and neck area of a defenseless receiver.

The suspension was imposed by NFL Vice President of Football Operations MERTON HANKS, who ruled that Burfict’s action placed his opponent at unnecessary risk of injury and should have been avoided. The suspension will take effect at the time of the final roster reduction prior to Week 1 of the 2016 regular-season.

Burfict has previously been fined for safety-related violations four times in 2015, including a $50,000 fine for unnecessarily contacting an opponent who was out of the play in Cincinnati’s Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the suspension may be appealed within three business days. Appeals are heard and decided by either DERRICK BROOKS or JAMES THRASH, the appeals officers jointly appointed and compensated by the NFL and NFLPA to decide appeals of on-field player discipline.

The conduct of other players and coaches in the Steelers-Bengals game is being reviewed for potential discipline.

Seems fair. Every defensive player has the occasional (borderline?) dirty play. It's people who make it a point to hurt people outside the rules that should be booted.

I assume this three games will be chopped down to 1 or 2 on appeal, but it sends a good message.

Today's NFL lessons in incentives:

You are better off spearing someone in the face than hitting them with your shoulder.

The fine you'll pay is peanuts compared to the benefits you will reap from employing an Assistant Coach of Instigation

If you want to attack an opponent, have the old white guy on staff do it. Goodell doesn't punish his own.

Exactly this.

If Patriots-Seahawks is the Super Bowl matchup again, I'm done with football. Forever. Fuck it, I'll go watch Manchester United and the Charlotte Hornets suck ass until baseball season starts

Seattle ain't getting past us both, bro. I'm rooting for you! Hopefully our teams meet next week. What's great about the NFL is the parity, it would suck if we had the same two SB teams as last year and SEA in particular considering they already made it two years in a row. Booooooring!

Not sure how that ! got in the subject nor how to get rid of it...

Really? Steelers Munchak if punished will only get a fine?

Can you guys put aside your biases and stop being ridiculous for one second? Burfict was suspended "for repeated violations of player safety rules." Dude has injured multiple people now, and has failed attempts on multiple other players. Fines are clearly not working to change his behavior, so a suspension is more than justified. Munchak and Porter deserve fines, as does Shazier - but suspensions aren't levied for first time offenses (unless the first time offense is multiple wrong doings in one game).

Merriweather was suspended 2 games for 5 helmet to helmet hits in 7 weeks.

You do realize that Merriweather was suspended for repeated hits to the head right?

does Shazier have a history of dirty hits? Sounds like that's why Burfict is getting suspended.

I disagree, Seattle in the Super Bowl would be quite exciting.

Merriweather was suspended 2 games for 5 helmet to helmet hits in 7 weeks.

And that was back in 2013. Burfict has just as ridiculous a portfolio over this season. He's got multiple intentional shots to the head, multiple ankle twists, diving at QB's knees, kneeing QB's in the shoulder on the ground, inciting brawls, celebrating players on the ground in agony with MCL tears, etc.

He's a piece of shit and a message needs to be sent before more players get injured.

As an honest and fair man, these are my thoughts on the matter.

The Steelers were dirty. Shazier should have been penalized.

Burfict deserved the 15 yard penalty and suspensions

Pacman Jones did not. Joey Porter probably did.

At best, the Steelers should have been set up for a 50 yard field goal to win the game. At worst, the penalties should have offset.

This did not happen. The Bengals will have to live with this. This is a crooked league after all.

The Pats are the real enemy. Transfer 2 games from Burficts suspension to Tom Brady in a show of good faith to the two legitimate fanbases involved in this situation.

Thank you for your time. This ruling is final.

You realize Shazier was dancing after knocking out Bernard right? And that Porter was on the field solely to incite a brawl. And that James Harrison is one of the dirtiest players of the modern era?

Pacman probably thinks the guy he turned into a paraplegic in Vegas is faking it, too.

There is an alternate universe where Brown is faking it, but he's too stupid to pass the concussion protocol and never plays again.

Assuming the universe is infinite of course.

shazier was only celebrating the turnover! how could he know that someone was seriously injured??? it's not like the guy he hit was down on the field for like 10 mins!
