and clearly their system is flawed. But that is funny.

They don't have a system. It's almost all subjective. Which makes it even funnier.

Do PFF's grades incorporate Rodger's ability to generate penalties with the hard count? Because that is arguably the best thing he is doing so far this year, it's how he has been able to generate gigantic plays (including against us last week)

He gets downgraded for those touchdowns because they happen on free plays. Conversely though, they also downgrade him for negative outcomes on free plays (the negated fumble).

No one is omnipotent. Bills destroyed him last year, too. It happens.
Montana was.

The only way to stop him was to break his body (you were allowed to do that back then). He didn't have a great arm but to me he will always be the greatest.

Qb's today play a very different game. You are not allowed to try and hurt them (and some qbs you can't even touch) and you can't touch receivers anymore.

As great as Rodgers is you can't compare the modern era to past eras (though I did exactly that!). Just say he is the best today.

I thought PFF was going private for the teams only?

And yea its crazy seeing everyone quote it, even broadcast announcers and NFL network are quoting it

PFF has Gronk so far ahead of every other tight end.

That is true though. Gronk is in a league of his own.

Edit. And the coach actually exploits him well in the offensive scheme. I think a lot of tight end talent is wasted on other teams. See the Seahawks though Graham is obviously not as good as Gronk.

Reese has handled the TE position as poorly as he's done with the LB's. Take a look at it. He's paid one guy from FA decent money (Boley) and they've drafted one guy in the early rounds, and he turned out to be a colossal bust (Sintim). All that in nearly ten years as GM.

TE's since Shockey:
Kevin Boss
Jake Ballard
Marty Bennett
Brandon Myers
Larry Donnell

... all have had the same production, but none were early draft choices or looked at as long term solutions. He's gotta change that.
Boss was a solid contributor for years and made some great catches for us during the '07 run. Concussions ended his career and he was rightly let go in free agency when the Raiders overpaid. Ballard/Pascoe was our TE combination during 2011.

A tight end isn't going to be the difference maker for these Giants. With the problems this team has - you really want to expend premium high picks on a tight end? We need defensive linemen. We need offensive linemen. We need a safety. We need corner depth...all of that before we ever get to linebacker or tight end, IMO.

I wanted Tyler Eifert when the Bengals took him two picks after the Giants selected in 2013. I actually was pretty high on Ebron coming out (..and I was wrong) and frankly I'm glad the Giants didn't do what I wanted. We wouldn't have Justin Pugh playing G/T for us and we wouldn't have ODB.

Tight end isn't even a blip to me right now in the grand scheme of what this team needs.

It's this years QBR. Everyone has taken to quoting it as gospel in game write ups. And I used to love them, thought they did a pretty spot on job with skill guys.

I've never found it to be very helpful/useful in evaluating players. I didn't like placing that much trust in independent and anonymous game reviewers. Always preferred to watch and read All-22 film breakdowns from people I trust. If a guy sucked, show and explain to me why, don't just give me a number grade.

Are the Bears having a fire sale? I did not expect an 0-3 start from them, but even with that seems just a little bit early to call the season over, yet it looks like they just opened everything up to "best offer".

They're dumping off all their misfit toys. Jarred Allen was comically out of position and the defense looked better anytime Acho replaced him. Bostic never found a place to fit into the new scheme. Rumor has it more trades are on the way. None of these guys are the future. Pace might as well get what he can out of them in trade value while they're wanted by someone.

The Bears have two players left from the 2012 draft and three from 2013. I'm sure 2014 will be similarly reduced when the Bears can afford to move on from them. Phil Emery really did a number on this franchise. Ryan Pace needs as many picks as he can accumulate to rebuild this roster with some actual football players, and not athletes who will never develop.

Got a new keyboard with a different layout. Ugh, I wonder how long it's gonna take to get used to it. First time ever on a QWERTY keyboard.

Yeah I mean I'll keep him as the starter until the bye, give him the chance to fix his shit. If he doesn't we should bench him so we can get that conditional fourth from STL for next year. No sense in taking him out till then
You can't play for picks. You have to play to win. If Bradford is consistently the better QB in practice, you can't bench him for Sanchez. Sends the wrong message to the team

PFF was only useful for their charting stats. Their grades were always just a very very rough starting point that, like now, were horribly wrong

Most dropped passes so far this year: Eagles 10, Texans 10, Jags 9, Rams 9, Cards 8, Giants 8

Well yeah I'll give him until the bye to see if he improves. But right now I'm not sure if he's playing better than Sanchez would. By the bye, that's 7-8 weeks in a new system, so he should be more comfortable in it and rust won't be an excuse any more. If Bradford still playing poorly, swap him for Sanchez because at that point it will be obvious he isn't working.

Yeah right like I'm gonna listen to some hillbilly on the internet over a highly scientific publication that gets paid by actual NFL teams

Damn, when even squicken is ready to cut bait with Bradford, you know it is bad.

There's a lot of talk that Chip is a bum and got figured out. I like a lot of the things he has brought to the league. Not everything, but I hope he succeeds so more teams look beyond the John Fox/Jack Del Rio re-hires

Guys were open in that game. NYJ have a tough D and Chip had lots of big plays left on the table by Bradford. Now whether Sanchez can hit them is also a question; maybe Sam does in practice and Sanchez doesn't? But Bradford has crapped the bed in 5/6 halves. He's holding back the offense.

And the WRs have to play better. Timing is off b/c they don't get open or struggle to get off the line
