Meadowlands and a possible future dc super bowl were kind of honoring 9/11.

Although I think it's crazy that the nfl is worried about the weather for a super bowl when the Greatest Game Ever Played in NFL lore was in sub freezing temperatures.

Yeah but the league made a special exemption for NY, and I believe at the time said that they were not considering other cold weathers areas. It is not just the game it self, they want the game to be in an area where people are interested in coming. Not sure how well set up the Cleve would be for the huge influx of tourists you get with a SB. Jacksonville was crazy for the Eagles SB.

Ah thanks for the clarification

Finally beat Doom

It's my GOTY I think so far. Just like Wolfenstein was at this point in the year when it came out two years ago. Damn good game.

Yeah I'm still kinda early on
just got to Hell
but goddamn that game is amazing. Even better than Wolfenstein. I liked Wolfenstein a lot but Doom is just crazy. Even at this stage, there's this one part of the level where demons just keep coming at you. They even give you Quad Damage and it's still tough as hell

Bethesda's Marketing/PR fucked up big time with this game. Why in the hell would you focus solely on showing the multiplayer and not even have the game in reviewers hands prior to launch (at least give us time to do the SP and then do MP when the servers go up).

if Cleveland had a Dome they would be in conversation

The problem might be hotels even if they had a dome though

Edit: I know the NFL requires a set amount of hotel space. not sure what the influx of ppl for the RNC is compared to a Super Bowl.

Anecdotally, Charlotte hosted the 2012 DNC and is still nowhere close to having the required amount of hotel rooms inside of city limits for an Owl.

For a long time that was one of the chief reasons that the NBA wouldn't give us the All-Star game that we're about to lose. That and...public money pledged to stadium/arena improvements.

That's not true.

TMZ saying Manziel's friends are now joining his dad in thinking he needs help or he'll die soon

Johnny Manziel's drinking and drug use is worse than ever -- but the QB refuses to seek help ... and now people close to him are convinced he's going to die unless something changes soon.

Here's what we know ... Manziel has become even more reckless with his drug problem recently -- even blowing lines in front of people he barely knows.

"He's in a horrible downward spiral," one source very close to the QB tells TMZ Sports.

There have been multiple serious attempts to help Johnny -- with one group of close friends recently sitting him down and "confronting" him about his situation. But, as one source put it, "He flipped out and would not hear it."

His friends are desperately trying to get through to him but haven't been successful -- and they're hoping this story will serve as a wake-up call.

Maybe Vegas can reach him -- because, as multiple sources have told us, he's become persona non grata at several of the top spots after his violent outburst this past weekend at JEWEL nightclub at the Aria.

"He's too much of a risk," one high-powered nightclub source tells us ... "He's a good guy, but he's a f***ing mess."

Manziel is still living under the delusion that he'll make it back to the NFL -- and recently talked about his comeback plans with TMZ Sports. But no one has seen him training and when we asked him about it last month, the idea of working out seemed like a joke.

Instead, he continues to party like a maniac -- L.A., Vegas, Miami, Coachella, Dallas -- and, as one source put it, "If he continues this way for much longer he will die.”

His own father expressed grave concern about Johnny back in February -- saying if he doesn't get help, "he won't live to see his 24th birthday."

We reached out to Manziel's rep -- but she told us there was nothing she could say on the matter.

I've said it before and I'm saying it now: then why don't his dad help him? He keeps saying it's the league's responsibility and I don't see it that way.

You're his damn parent, act like it

I understand that but his dad keeps clearly saying someone needs to help him and I haven't seen on instance where his dad is trying

Hard to help someone who clearly doesn't want to be around you. He's even bailing from friends who make an attempt, you think he hasn't already done that with his dad?

Others have said it but he's a legal adult. Short of getting arrested and agreeing to rehab JFF doesn't have to do anything. I had a friend who was addicted to opiates. We all knew and told him to stop. His dad knew and told him to stop. But whenever we brought it up he would get pissed and just say he wasnt going to tell us about it anymore and do it in secret. There was nothing we or his dad could make him do. He ended up ODing and died 2 years ago. Some people are just beyond help
