NFL 2016 Offseason Thread |OT3| - With the 29th pick of the 2016 NFL draft...

FMT is a dad! How best to celebrate?

Norman is gonna swindle whoever he signs with if he gets $13-14M.

Hawks-GAF - any thoughts on the mock draft? I'm probably just going to go BPA that fits the mold and has a pretty high SPARQ score, as long as he's at a position where we could use an immediate starter or depth while they develop.

i hope the niners sign him for two reasons:

1. he is better than any CB we have even though i don't think norman is some elite CB
2. i want york to have more money spent out of his pocket and i dont give a fuck who it is that gets the money so long as he is having to spend it

It's rare for the Bills to draft a player that hasn't come in for a visit. It's even rarer for them to not take someone from the ACC, I swear that area scout has more clout than anyone, so I'm tempted to put down Shaq Lawson's name. ACC, pass rusher is a need, and he came in for a visit. But you know what, fuck that, they need another weapon. They've emphasized speed, but I believe they have a guy on the board that doesn't need speed to kill a D. First off they have 1 WR signed going into 2017, 1 worth a shit anyway. It's a need position, they will draft one early, so even though they've spent a bunch of picks on WR they still need someone opposite Sammy. That someone is Doctson, he's a no brainer pick.

He's a fucking eraser, your QB makes a bad throw, don't worry Doctsons got him. He attacks the rock like a basketball, arms extended, give me that shit bitch it's mine type of attitude. Has played with a mobile QB and knows how to freelance when the play breaks down. I can't emphasize enough how WRs didn't come back to the ball for Tyrod, Doctson does this all the time, I think it's part of his BBall instincts. If you want the rock, get open, don't just stand around and wait. He's a good enough route runner, and his size creates separation. I wish he's there and I wish they have the balls to take him, because this, to borrow from Farooq, is an Ozzie choice.

Or they can take a DL like Lawson or Vernon Butler.

Yeah, he's pretty good, like Patrick Peterson-tier, and if you have the money you might as well spend it.

I just don't think he's worth that.

He might have been the reason for hiring the Syracuse head coach.

Chip has a real rigid profile of who can play CB for him. He likes press man corners with length. Norman wouldn't seem to have the speed Chip likes

Sorry to derail but has anyone had a chance to play Battleborn or overwatch? Both look kinda cool, mainly interested in Overwatch

Been in the Overwatch closed beta since Oct. It's fun as hell. Especially if you like shooters like TF2 or Quake. If you are more of a CoD fan, it may take some getting used to.

Open beta starts in a couple weeks, so you can try it for yourself then.

I consider this a betrayal.

I'm alone on Team Wentz.
I know it's hurtful now, but You'll have life after Squicken. We've all had him :/

Awesome, can't say I was huge into TF2 as I was a console gamer. Only played alittle of orange Box. I was a big Shadowrun fan though if that compares?

Any of you guys done any extension electrical work on a house recently? What does a modern home have? Is laying network cable all through the house worth it?

I'm alone on Team Wentz.

Doug Pelerson and Howie Loseman drew first blood. I'll hope for good things but I can't cheer for them week to week.

Overwatch looks fun. I'm not really into competitive multiplayer games outside of fighting games, but I'm probably gonna have a lot of fun doing and saying dumb shit with friends.

I'm right there with you, I'd love for us to overpay Norman (we ain't fucking spending the money on anyone else), but I see about a 5% chance of that happening. Has Baalke ever signed a big name CB? We signed Nnamdi after he was significantly washed up, but that don't count.

Can we definitively say that Andy Reid was the sole reason for the Eagles success? (and to some extent, Chip Kelly before he was given free reign over the roster)

Or at the least, that Howie Roseman doesn't know what the fuck he is doing. How do you give Bradford $18 million and not look to him as your future QB? Why not just sign Daniels?

Does anyone (outside of Pepiope) actually think Bradford is significantly better than Daniels? Especially given he's going into another new offensive system?

1. JNCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC at the Eagles trade. Jesus the Rams and Eagles are dumb. These are not the QBs you trade the farm for. I saw Pep was in denial earlier thinking they aren't drafting a QB at 2. Poor guy.

2. Panthers losing Norman is great, a sizable blow to one of the better teams in the conference and in a year where we play them (besides playoffs). I'm surprised they didn't shop him on a franchise tag, surely the Jags would sniff and they have the capital to keep him afterwards. The Niners and Jags are the obvious choices for most likely candidate and while I wouldn't be concerned with the Niners getting him as they are trash all around, I'd prefer he not go to a division rival. I'd say he's in the second tier of CBs.

3. FFS, Bionic! I just brought up you getting yourself banned this very day! I guess we'll have to get your draft reactions late.

4. On behalf of this degenerate insular community, thank you for fighting for us, Xia. It's appreciated.

5. Man some of you guys are reaching in this mock...

Never played Shadowrun. Is it more arcade style? Overwatch is very much a fast-paced, arcade shooter. Not at all like the tactical shooters that have been so ubiquitious the past 5 years or so.

One thing that is also different about it is it is completely objective focused. There's no death match mode, only team objectives. And just running around killing people isn't going to be helping your team much. You have to be capturing or defending the objectives. It's almost like a MOBA, in that regard. That plus the emphasis on different characters fulfilling different roles and a balanced comp being needed to win leads it to being compared to MOBAs quite a bit, actually.

Carlos Rogers was the closest thing to a big name I guess.

he signed a vet minimum contract i think. the last big name CB i can remember the niners signing was clements. i am having trouble remembering ANY cb's we signed period over the years. i know we signed chris cook a couple years back. then we signed shareece wright last offseason. beyong those two i can't really think of anyone at CB that we have signed in recent years.

i guess baalkes philosophy is: after 10 seconds of no pass rush, all CB's in the nfl are equal so why spend money on them!

Shadowrun was amazing. It was a class based team game with a Counter Strike like purchasing system. Honestly one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played.

Being an elf with the teleport ability was incredible.

Hi. So yeah, I'm new to NFL-Gaf. Just call me Vaal, I've been a Bears fan for all my life because everyone in my family are Cowboys fan, and I hated the Cowboys when I was little.

That Eagles trade, oof.

Look, Baalke is of the opinion that he can draft CB's in the 4th-7th rounds every draft and eventually some of them will pan out. Or he'll draft a fucking safety in the first and try to convert him to a nickle corner (we were like 2 picks away from Varrett, who I do not think we would've grabbed even if he did fall to us). God his philosophy towards CBs is fucking infuriating. When was the last time our CB crew was actually great and not just being propped up by the front 7? They were debateably great in 2011 and pretty mediocre in 2012.

Yes. Lurie was right in Reid, and I think on Chip but pulled plug too fast to really know. Joe Banner and Roseman were also both ahead of the curve as far as contracts go

Or at the least, that Howie Roseman doesn't know what the fuck he is doing. How do you give Bradford $18 million and not look to him as your future QB? Why not just sign Daniels?

This is the scary part for Philly. The magin for error on draft picks is lower now. Howie has to have a higher hit % than the rest of the league b/c he has fewer picks. Howie is good on contracts. Not at picking players

Does anyone (outside of Pepiope) actually think Bradford is significantly better than Daniels? Especially given he's going into another new offensive system?

Obviously the trade is good is Wentz is a stud. But that doesn't mean that Howie can't take heat for wasting money on Bradford. He could have Cox locked up right now with another guard on the roster. It's a big mistake. He needs to trade Bradford for whatever he can get. They've already paid him $11m, so whoever takes him would have him cheap

Speaker wire yes.. ethernet cable no. Unless your home is thick poured concrete or you're an anal online gamer, WiFi technology has evolved enough to cover your entire home easily with few drops.
