The deteriorated disk that forced Watt to undergo a second operation, caused him to take a long, hard look at how he would approach his rehabilitation. No superhuman feats, just a smart, old-fashioned recovery that required listening to the experts and, most important, his body.
The doctors and rehab specialists cleared Watt to resume full-scale workouts in late January.
"I've had plenty of time to recover," he said. "I did it the right way this time. I did everything exactly how you're supposed to do it. Right now, I'm very confident. If you have confidence, you can step on that field and have a chance to be the player you know you can be.
