I don't really have any desire to leave the Northeast

I kinda miss the weather in Massachusetts

Cold winters and mild as fuck summers are the best

St Louis has been a tremendous and incredible improvement over Houston but I'm still dreading those 95-100 degree days that we'll still get.

What I don't miss about Massachusetts are the Patriots fans, the inferiority complex with NYC, and cost of living (how does anyone afford to buy a house??)

That's probably why I was really impressed with Portland, Maine. If I could live anywhere, it'd probably be there.

All the surveys show most of the happiest Americans are in the West. I think it is the sunshine during winter months. Got to get that vitamin D from the sun.

What's good about Las Vegas
Gambling and prostitution are legal.

So if you into that then its the place to be in the US.

Most people don't want that in their life though.

It might be because I am a JCB and that is just not an issue for me and my boys but I don't understand wanting to pay someone for sex. Ninja and Gata what's so great about hookers? You guys need to explain the appeal to the rest of us.

What's so bad about las vegas?
Where to start let's see dead last in education dead last in quality of healthcare number one and housing foreclosures number one in drunk driving related accidents. It hits 120 all the time in the summer. The state is top 10 in revenue but they don't spend it on teachers or stuff like that, it all goes to tax breaks for the casinos. The city is also horribly ugly unless you like everything dirt or tan covered. Everything outside of the strip is just strip malls. Traffic sucks also. Vegas is such a terrible and depressing place to live. Especially if you have kids.

Technically prostitution is not legal in Las Vegas city. But it's a short trip away apparently!
Are you sure about that?

Because they certainly advertise the fuck out of it on the strip and I saw some in our hotel. I specifically remember one leaving a room full of like 5+ guys. It was the Venetian otherwise I would have assumed one of those dudes was Gata.

Felt bad for that chick. She was hot and that seems like a hard way to earn whatever money she earned.

Sounds like Sherman is going to get traded at the draft. Why is Seattle getting rid of him?
I heard something yesterday saying that they are serious about moving him. I don't get NFL teams at all. What are the odds that the pick they get back produces a player as good?

He has a year or two left in his prime and he's been going after coaches on the sidelines and media people.

I still think they're just trying to send him a message through the media but we'll see what happens.

How the flying fuck am I supposed to get "relevant" work experience when even the fucking relevant internship requires relevant work experience!? I've been studying and working since I was fucking 14, sometimes 2 jobs to pay for everything. When the fuck was I supposed to do an internship at a company that also wants me to have relevant work experience to even start that shit?

Most job postings are for the ideal candidate they want to hire. It's mainly done because A) there's the small chance they actually get their perfect candidate to apply, and B) it discourages the obviously under-qualified folks from bothering and cluttering the system. Even for entry level positions. They were still doing the whole "1-3 years experience" thing 15+ years ago when I started job hunting.

If you have most of the skills they're looking for but not the amount of experience, apply anyway. You may still get contacted. A lot easier if you know someone at the company of course, networking contacts can matter a lot more than your resume/CV.

It does have cheap housing. Our house was 180k 4 years ago, it got appraised by the city this year for property taxes at 130. It goes down every single year. Eventually our house will be worth less then an Xbox at this rate.
Damn that is cheap.

Hope you don't take a bath when and if you get out and sell your house.

My wife had a relative in Vegas and I remember him saying that he rented for that reason. I thought he was wrong but maybe he knew what he was doing and houses in Vegas are a mistake.

My wife and I say a lot that we would have rented if we had known. The housing market is a total disaster out here. Who knows how low it will go before it finally hits bottom.

Prostitution is a boom or bust industry. Women are either trafficked and subjugated or own the territory they work.

I know a guy who used to do security for prostitutes and he says many of them make more than hedge fund managers a calendar year. Like 200K/month.

That prostitute you saw in Vegas? Probably has more money than everyone in this thread combined.

No offense Yankee but that seems like something that should have been easily researched.

I am sure some prostitutes make a ton of money but that also seems like a real tough way to make buck. I complain about making phone calls and talking all day and I also do ok for myself. Imagine haggling over 500 bucks and then letting Gata, Ninja and the rest of degeneration nation run a train on you. And this is a guess but I don't think most of them are happy. Now that could be said for a lot of people but I wonder how many of them regret going into the career.

I also think you are really overstating how much money most prostitutes make. I am sure there are some prostitues who make six figures a month but that is probably the 1% . I could be wrong but I don't think it is that expensive to get a prostitute, like not even porn stars.

Ninja can probably educate us on the details...

Deep draft for CB and safties. Move on from high dollar talent and get cheaper, younger players.

So it started raining at 11:30

And apparently it won't stop until 6...tomorrow morning. (With some thunder and strong winds thrown in)

I don't think it's most. But the money is lucrative and tax free. The same dude said most women (that aren't heavy drug users) work the job for 3 to 5 years then retire then are set for life.

He also said there are hazards. He has a job because women get robbed often. They could make 15K in a night, then the last guys robs them of everything.

The sex industry is WAY larger than anybody realizes. We went for a drive once and he pointed out all the innocuous "massage parlors" in regular neighborhoods that sell sex. I was floored. I asked him about the cops and he said they're in on it and don't care.

Vegas was the only district in America that was hiring starting elementary teachers and also had physics openings. We didn't pick this place because we thought it would be a good place to live.

If it was that lucrative and easy as Greg indicated a lot of people would put on wigs or spread their legs and retire in 5 years.

I think your friend is talking about Heidi Fleiss type escorts and the hard part of that is breaking into that rich persons circle. That's why Heidi made so much money. She had the contacts.

It ain't for me .

I remember you posting about it. What i'm talking about specifically is the housing market. If you are going to cross state lines you need to bone up on the local economy. Losing 50K on your house in 4 years? If and when you leave you're going poorer than you arrived.

Didn't you also have some major problem with the house that wasn't picked up on Inspection?

Well my plan would be to rent and not buy. I just want to get started and move closer to the west coast once I've saved up enough. I definitely won't be raising kids there.

Colin Kapernick and Jay Cutler are on the Table for the Houston Texans

Let's start with the obvious. The Texans are taking a public stand that both Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden are quarterbacks that they are happy to have. Reading between the lines, if the Texans were truly sold on Savage being the option at the position, there would be no need to kick the tires on Romo, sign Brock Osweiler prior to the 2016 season, or place him on the injured reserve in 2015 to see Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett for the long haul. The Texans continue to say the right things and are quick to point out that Savage needs to stay healthy but this is lining up for another season of a new face or faces in the quarterback room for 2017.

Remember that O'Brien is a close friend of Kaepernick's former coach Chip Kelly, and if there is anything that he wants to know about the signal caller, that information is just a phone call away. The Texans will no doubt have to vet Kaepernick and make sure his contract demands and other issues match with what the organization wants. Despite so much focus on Kaepernick and his political stands, he has shown on the football field that he can produce, lead teams to the Super Bow,l and most importantly, he has shown that he is a leader in the locker room. Kaepernick was chosen by his San Francisco teammates in 2016 as the Len Eshmont Award winner for the teammate that embodied "inspirational and courageous play." There are plenty of factors concerning Kaepernick that will no doubt be in focus but he would be a clear upgrade to the position group.

Being honest: I would be completely stunned if the Texans signed Kap.

Instead of wasting your money in Vegas why don't you buy property that will increase in value in a neighboring state? Or perhaps I didn't see that there was some specific reason you wanted to live there?

The picture Yankee painted would make me avoid that shit like the plague.
