NFL Offseason Thread 2013 - Here comes the wait

"Broncos SS Quinton Carter was arrested last weekend in Las Vegas on felony charges that he cheated in a casino craps game. Carter was arrested on Saturday night on the accusations that he added money to his bets after the dice had rolled. He has been charged with three counts of fraudulent act in a gaming establishment and faces up to 18 years in prison. Carter, at the time of his arrest, also had a warrant for failure to complete counseling after a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge from 2011. Carter played in just two games last season before a knee injury landed him on injured reserve. "

Of course this would happen...

We have Quizz and Snelling to pace him. Snelling's a guy you never hear about outside of Atlanta, but he's old reliable...and niftier on his feet than Turner, a very good receiver out of the backfield, and a willing blocker.

I don't see any scenario where we carry 4 tailbacks.

The Rams never wanted to use him as much as they did last year, but Pead has some growing up to do, and Richardson fumbles and can't pass block. They almost couldn't take SJAX off the field by the end of the year b/c the other RBs had flamed out so bad. Risks of going young.

He still wants his 1k yard streak, but ATL really need him more for post-season

I hope Leon Washington still has it as a returner. It was beyond irritating seeing McCourty return kicks last season.

I bet this means the Patriots cut Jeff Demps and he probably signs with Tampa Bay, and plays there as a two-sport athlete. No way the Patriots were going to allow that.

I have to imagine this is the first time that to Oregon State tailbacks have been in the same backfield.

Never doubt Ted

what a day pitt loses to cuse and we lose lewis to the aints. what the dollar amount?

edit nvm 26.5 and 10.5 guaranteed. man we backed ourself against the cap so much we cant even afford that

Keenan actually took less money to come here. Quite interesting. He was offered something like 1.5 million more to go to the titans or Eagles, but declined.

Seems Davis is staying in Washington. With Keller having left Miami withotu a deal, maybe the Browns can swoop in.

Not all of us work at office jobs and spend 1/3 of work time on the internet instead of actual work!

Mores the pity!

I liked him as a come in and compete guy. They are paying him front line guy money. He's not that good. SF's front 7 was really diminished w/o Smith in there. I also liked the Walden signing when it was 4m, not 8m. They are paying backups from good teams starter money. Now maybe Grigson and Pagano see upside here, but at a minimum they are paying too much

There's no cap killer, though. No Mario Williams type of deal that will wreck things if it goes bad. Those guys may never be solid starters, but they should at least be rotation guys b/c they are high effort. Still think DL has to be addressed in draft

Yea I thought his contract was a bit pricey, but at least we're not grossly overpaying anyone.

I've been pretty vocal about addressing the DL through the draft, I think we will. I definitely do not agree with the fans on Colts boards saying we should go WR 1st RD.

Demps is probably gone. Leon is a proven commodity. They might keep Woodhead. Really depends on how high they are on Vereen who is more explosive.

I like vereen but he has missed a lot of time. Woodhead is small but tough.

If there was one spot and it was between bolden, demps and woodhead i would take woodhead.

That what they will do. Bolden played really good last year and he brings a power element the others don't so I doubt he gets cut.

The PED suspension is what soured me on Bolden. He looked good before the suspension but i never got a good look at him after he came back.

I do love me some power running though.

I don't understand why the Steelers let Keenan go for that little money. Give him Harrison's cash, ffs. Maybe there's something I'm missing here, like he's been smoking blunts with 'Tone.

I don't get it either. They must really have some kind of faith in Cortez Allen....but then, the guy starting on the other side will be 33 before camp starts so you would think they would also want a replacement for Ike at some point. I don't know. Unless something else happens between now and the preseason, we're looking at Allen/Gay for number 2.

He is coming back home. That is worth a lot for some players. He says he always dreamed to play in New Orleans. now he gets that opportunity. Plus he gets paid. He will also most definitely start.

That poor deluded fool. All he will get is bounties and oxy.

He'll definitely help that defense. :(
