I think another Elder Scrolls is almost guaranteed. Skyrim sold so well I'm afraid that they're going to fuck it up and literally make "Skyrim 2" or some garbage.
The KOTOR MMO on the other hand was basically supposed to be a cash cow while the main team continued making Mass Effect. Mass Effect is a much larger brand than KOTOR was and EA/Bioware own all of the material to it.

That is the same reaction GAF has to everything about porn and videogames.
Remember that a lot of posters are young and/or stupid (and sometimes with Gata you get the perfect combo of both).
I think the thing that is most revealing is the defense that 'well my parents were really shitty and let me play GTA when I was 6 years old so it must be ok for everyone!'. No, you had shitty parents that did not care about you and would rather you shut up instead of have to look at you. You probably also have a lot of other defects that are not apparent to you or us on an internet message board.
I do remember watching violent movies when I was a kid, but that was like 10 and up. My parents, and most of my friends parents, did not have a problem with violence at that age but nudity was a big no no. Which is weird but I think I will be the same way (though I will probably make them wait a little longer to see some violent shit and I will never want to be in the same room as my kids if a sex scene comes on).

Not like big problems, but if I reflect back on my life? I've encountered personal violence like maybe three times. I've had ceaseless headaches and heartache cause of sex and relationships.
Not trying to lump them into the same bucket or say sex is worse, just reflecting on the reality of my life as I lived it. Obviously there is nothing wrong with sex.

Still pretty interesting to see all the different experiences and takes on the matter.
Like, my sis has no control over it. She has to drop him off at their house and is gone for a couple of hours. The kid's gonna play that game and my nephew will watch. It's stupid and unfortunate.
All things considered it is not the worst thing in the world, but no one would want their kid to be around that if given a choice at age 5.
You want your kids to be riding their bike or reading a book and developing some skills like writing and socializing with the people at that age.
I would get banned for voicing these opinions on gaming side because they are generally pretty sensitive to any criticisms about gaming (or pornography). Similar to religion and sports, when people criticize something that is central to your life, you usually get al little defensive.
Doing a streak of MK X if anyone wants to drop by and hang out. I suck but atleast I am trying!

I don't know what is so damn offensive about acknowledging the reality that games are violent, but you are right, some people don't want to hear it, or even admit it could be inappropriate in some contexts.

Well the good thing I guess, is that he barely spends time over there and literally spends all his free time either watching Pokemon, playing outside, either with the dog or soccer and going to other friends' houses his age to play over there.

I didn't really like the first two games so hopefully this one would be better.
I kinda wish they'd do another Republic Commando...or Empire at War. I'd even take a Force Unleashed like the first game.
I think they hear complaints from their parents, teachers, etc about how worthless gaming is and they get defensive about it. I think it is baked into them.
Hell I love gaming but it should be on the back burner. There are more important things in life, especially when you are in school, that you should be focusing on. And you really shouldn't be playing that shit too much when you are really young. That is why so many fat fucks can't ride bikes when they are 10 but they can play minecraft while texting to their friends and drinking a redouble.
Granted finishing Super Metroid in like 39 minutes of whatever ridiculous time I finished it in in college is probably one of the things I am most proud of in life, but I also know that that doesn't translate into anything tangible outside of a conversation with friends or on the internet.

For once you're talking with some sense. The problem with violent video games, is where do you draw the line? Obviously GTA is a clear no for kids, but I grew up playing Zelda, which if you think about the actual game, is pretty violent. Diablo and Starcraft were also in my young wheel house. I was allowed to watch R rated movies when I was young. I actually chose not to watch many I didn't care for the stories. I loved Terminator, but it was clearly not for my age at the time.
I'm not a parent, but my guess would be that picking and choosing based on the media is what I would do as a parent.
Like Offline Halo would be fine for a kid under 10, but theres no way my kid is touching COD.
