I've gotta give Phil credit, that is some impressive fertility.

He's not even in the same stratosphere as my boy Shawn Kemp, but still an accomplishment.

Jameis is ready to play:

Sensible picks by the Browns, nothing flashy but picks that will most likely benefit us in the future.

Was it sensible? Browns are like the Steelers and played a lot of packs which is why they sucked ass against the run. Will Shelton even get on the field in those situations?

Rhetorical question, answer is no.

The Flowers pick for the Giants is an interesting one. Not at all a sexy pick. Reese and Marc Ross believe they have a young guy who they can build into a franchise left tackle. He'll need plenty of work to get there. Watching some tape of him tonight and he has some footwork issues to work through. He's not technique sound at all either. Uses a great deal of that size he has to hide his weaknesses but I see the allure. He really is a mountain of a dude, his run blocking is nasty and the physical part of his game is there.

Coughlin refuses to say where he will play but he's a right tackle to me right now. Without question. Get Schwartz on that right guard position and I think some bodies will finally get moved in the running game. Especially with Richburg playing his natural position finally. I mentioned it in the draft thread but I think he'll struggle in pass protection off of the bat and that's fine. He'll grow into that.

I'm not in love with the pick. I'd have wanted someone less "projecty" if that's even a word but it's a long outlook type of pick. I liked Sherff more though I haven't made a secret about that.;) At the end of the day, I'm at least happy that the offensive line is getting another big piece (literally!).

I have to say this: if Winston does indeed bust, and Mariota becomes great...that will probably be it for me as a Bucs fan. I've stomached a lot, but that would just be the end of me.

Kicked your ass in the NFL.com make the pick contest.
we both sucked

:jnc I forgot about that. Gonna check it now but I must have finished bottom right?

I don't watch college football and have ignored all of the draft smokescreen bullshit so literally the only player I know anything about is Jameis. I remembered to make my picks at the eleventh hour so I just looked at the team needs next to the team names and picked a random player to fill one of those spots.

Broncos-gaf. I don't follow college ball much.

Did we do good?

You got another known stoner on your defense. Congrats!

On another note I am warming up to the Kevin Johnson pick at CB. Quite a few evaluators had him ranked really high because of the smooth and quick way he moves and has a high football IQ

Hey even if he totally sucks you are better off toughing it out.

Vikings drafted Ponder and had a miserable couple years after. Hell its not even really over yet but now we have a scrappy ass defense and a QB who might be worth half a damn.

It comes around.

Bill did the same thing with Easley who'd rather watch cartoons then football lol

Malcom Brown doesn't watch football in his spare time. Not that he has spare time.

He was asked this season which pro players he idolizes. He had no idea. He doesn't follow the NFL.

Brown prefers watching cartoons. He grew up on "Dragon Ball Z" anime. Still enjoyed it in high school.

Remember that it's contingent on Mariota going on to become great, which is a whole nother can of worms.

I'm at the point after these last seven years or so I just can't get my expectations and hope up; hell, I've spent more time following the upcoming NHL draft than this one where my team had the first damn pick (though knowing who we were going to get probably had something to do with that). And if they can't even get the first overall pick right...then what am I supposed to wait for?

So a ~225 pound athlete who can run sideline to sideline, tackles well, great ball skills, and looks like a running back once the ball is in his hands? Yet you've got dipshits like Kiper who says he's a special teamer lol. GG Getts, another great pick.
