When you have a boundary between what is permissible and what is not, people are going to test where it is, because regardless of where somebody might say it should be what actually matters is what gets called or not. It's just like how, to use this forum as an example, no matter what mods may say on a rule, everyone is paying far more attention to what actually gets people banned, because they aren't concerned about being wrong in a moral sense, they're worried about getting punished in a practical sense.

At the same time though, you have to understand that NFL refs are graded on both calls and non-calls, and with stuff like the vague new rules regarding player safety you have refs themselves unsure on where they need to be drawing the line and so you get various personal interpretations of the rules depending on how scared they are of getting docked for not calling something. In other words, if you want something to be clear cut on the field, it needs to be clear cut in policy.

Also, a bunch of people are shouting how we get away with this or that, but they aren't the ones really watching our games and are just working on the power of suggestion.
I thought about it a little more and the Jon guy makes some excellent points behind a mask of pure hatred of the Seahawks.

The refs handed the Hawks their 13 win regular season wins and this Superbowl. Never mind that I have seen the refs throw a flag on pretty much every Raider play for multiple games, but obviously the Hawks cracked the code and are cheating motherfuckers. Ben never crossed the goa... Er what I meant to say is that this was a disgrace and I am not sure I can watching professional football anymore because it is just as fake as pro wrestling. Bottomline this SB victory was tainted and Cheatin Pete had the refs in his pocket.

Most people dress up as something else, but I'm sure some take the FMT approach.

We have the whole draft/combine thing to keep us busy on the football front. Besides that as a Euro it means much more sleep on Sundays/Mondays and I watch a lot more soccer and the Formula 1 season starts soon, so that's cool too. Add hockey playoffs/the occasional baseball game to that as boom it's September.

Let's also not forget the World Cup!

GO SPAIN! :P

NHL season is too fucking long. I don't start caring til the second trade deadline passes. Stupid fucking league.

College hockey though, yeahhhhhhh buddy

Are you going to watch Olympic hockey? I enjoy it.

Also, the trade deadline is coming up fast. The Flyers only have like 4 games left until the deadline, because of the Olympics.

I wish we had more College Hockey in this area.

Kave, are you going to be rooting for Team Canada or Team USA?

You have to support JVR and Kessel!

Also, Team Canada can go screw off for leaving Giroux off Team Canada.

Seattle resident finally seeing his team get his Lombardi! Go Hawks! I will be at the parade in downtown Wednesday.

Congrats to the Seahawks and their fans from the fans of the other 1976 expansion, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We know the euphoric feeling diehard fans get when the pain caused by years of futility is washed away a by the Lombardi trophy.

You know, I'm ready to make peace with the Steelers now...

...as soon as Ben retires.

Obviously Team Canada.

I wish Team America all the best as they lose to Canada for the gold medal again. :)

I stopped reading after this cause, I got super excited somebody other than an Oakland fan admits that Raiders get flagged constantly for no other reason than they're the Raiders.

Some random thoughts:

Super boring game - it was over after the first play. It was like watching Tyson knock someone out in the first round.

Was the game more patriotic than usual? It seemed more 'Murca than last year.

After watching the Frontline report on head injuries I'l never be able to watch football the same ever again. Not just because of the injuries themselves, and how evil the league is about it, but also how disgustingly capitalistic the Super Bowl is and how its entire existence is the pacify the masses. Bread and circuses indeed.

I was glad they didn't mention the whole Sherman thing. For the record, I think he's right. "Thug" is a euphemistic way of saying the N-word. More than a boring game, I was annoyed that it was mired by racism and deep-seeded cultural issues.

12 of the 22 starters for the Seahawks were drafted in the 4th round or later. That's insane. Will be fascinating to see who they keep and who they let walk once their cheap players become free agents. If they feel confident with Turbin and Michael, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for them to cut Marshawn Lynch.

Never gonna happen. He did what got us in the Super Bowl. Look at Playoff Saints game and 49ers too...

The player we could cut is Sidney Rice.

I can't believe there is still so much salt in here. The better team won yesterday - and that was true for the whole season. Seattle just pushed the Broncos away like the paper tigers that they were.

If I were you Seahawk-GAF I would just enjoy this and not even respond to the trolls. I didn't even see the Seahawks DB's mug anyone yesterday! I missed Malcom Smiths presser get interrupted by a crazy guy though, that must've sucked.

They have one of the best defenses in the league, and they're ranked 4th in rushing yards; 26th in passing yards. Granted, Percy Harvin was out, but if their passing game improves, then they will surely be unstoppable. Seahawks passing did look good last night, though.

I'm just trying to soak in the happiness brother!! :')

Tate is garbage. They should cut him...

Whut? Tate's been a playmaker all season. Hell, he's made some of the best plays in the league this year. Our WR core needs folks like him to make it work, IMO and it'd be a damn shame if we lost him this year as I think he's up for free agency. When our pass game gets going, it works and we need folks like him.

Congrats Seahawks-GAF. The best team in the NFL won the Lombardi. Welcome to the winners club.

With that out of the way, Go Niners!!!!
Looking forward to NFL-GAF next season.

Dude everyone knows that the NFL is always trying to fuck over the Raiders because your undead (?) owner shit in their face and also because you guys are kind of thugs. Or at least used to be when you were good. I can't forgive your team for that assault on my qb. No means no dude.

Is Canada a non-extradition country?
The fat women all ride moose up there. Ben ain't about to fuck with no moose. Not for all the maple syrup and mayo fries in the world.

Wow shit talking from Browns fans...

Only Super Bowl you motherfuckers will ever make is scrubbing the toilets of the other 31 teams in the league, yet they'll still do a piss poor job and cleaning under the rim
I mean your called the Browns for fuck sakes, there's a reason

I mean you have Kave as your banner guy, that alone should tell you to jump ship

Fuck even Jaguar fans would commit suicide to rep for that dip shit of a team

Hey Browns fans try to sniff the playoffs before talking shit
You irrelevant
Only time you'll be in the news again is the #1 draft pick or if Jim Brown dies and they show the true great highlights of your team from yester-year

Disfunk punk bitches
yo....

I never said anything negative about them. Seattle is going to be good for a long time.

Rando! You're my boy, congrats brotha!

Yup. I love international hockey. Definitely watch Olympics, World Juniors, etc. way more than the NHL. The US v. CAN women's games are always insanely entertaining. I love watching those games, probably because I know a lot of the women playing. It's not exactly great hockey.

Own goal badly.

This is the best way to describe the game in soccer terms.

How do you die hard nfl fans cope with no football for almost eight months? Here in the UK I go crazy when premier league football is off for even a week for shitty internationals. I can't imagine eight months of no soccer.

Baseball, Hockey and Basketball (NCAA and NBA). We have March Madness, NBA and NHL playoffs coming up, and Baseball will start up soon with Spring Training.

There's plenty of stuff to watch.
