We got demolished up front. It all starts and ends there, really. Flynn had (arguably) more time because they played a much more vanilla defense...because they didn't respect him for a second.

All that being said, I still have no respect for the Patriots defense and like our secondary far more than the Bears. While we will probably get blown out, I think we might be able to make it a game.

The Bears haven't had a good cornerback since Donnell Woolford.

I don't care if it's the dog killer or the rapist or if takes some demon spawn of Kimo and Bernard Pollard ascending to earth, I just don't want the Pats to win.

You using it makes it seem like more extreme sarcasm than it already is.

Good man.

I sometimes dream of Harrison beheading Tom Brady at Foxboro during the first play of the AFC Championship (and somehow no flag is thrown because the refs hands are busy "elsewhere"). I guarantee that if Harrison were to knock out Tom Brady in the playoffs the next 24 hours of media coverage would be a combination of every religious holiday put together! I would frame the column by Simmons in reaction.

Nope. They run up the score and play everyone until the bitter end.
Look at the 2007 season, they run up the score. And even if they are up by 40 Brady will bitch if a linebacker looked at him the wrong way.

Man, a lot of people get a pretty bad Rams/Chiefs game instead of the marquee matchup of the early afternoon. Luckily I get Jags/Colts opposite the Panthers crap on the other channel.

TJack is looking like he'll be out for Vikings/Bears. Looks like either Joe Webb will start or they're going to sign Patrick Ramsey and start him.

Gotta love the Beara facing the Vikings starting Joe Webb while the Packers will probably be starting Matt Flynn against the Pats.

I don't get this joke...

The rivalry between the two cities is huge, especially when it comes to sports, and every year when there's an interleague series between the Royals and the Cardinals, KC gets invaded by obnoxious Cards fans taking in all the sites, snapping pictures and being obnoxious. This is one more reason this weekend's game is going to be awesome.

Do the Pats ever sit starters?

You know why I am asking.

You might get lucky. After this year the Jets will be lucky to be a 9-7 team for at least 3-5 years so you will have plenty of cracks at wildcard.

More ammunition to hate on the Bears when/if they prevail.

I love the hate.

Brady and Belicheat will rule the AFC East from their thrones of hate forevermore.

Webb's hammy might be worse than initially thought as well, so there is a possibility he'll be unavailable.

Uhhh so even if Rodgers comes back, how can they beat the Pats? They have no run game. If Arod comes back (love him, he'll probably fight to play) a concussion will make him a little more cautious. So limited mobility and no keeping the play alive. If he has time, he could probably get the ball out and maybe torch their secondary but even then the Pats D has stepped it up the last four-ish games. Send a few extra on a blitz and see what happens. I think that will define the game.

If Flynn is in, everyone pick up the pats D in your fantasy league. It's gonna be brutal.

Ahh Baseball, no wonder I didn't know wtf you were talking about. I was going to say last I checked, KC wasn't our big rival...

For myself. Santa, all I want for x-mas is to finally see the Steelers beat the Pats in the playoffs and a vial of Pat fans' tears after the game for me to drink.
I'm not gunna lie, I have no fear of Ben being able to come into Foxboro and beat the Pats in the middle of a nor'easter.

Run game isn't required to beat the Pats. We were a cunt hair away from beating them without one of our best receivers, our 1st and 2nd string backs, our tight end, our...

Wow, it's almost like I'm describing Green Bay!

Brady does bitch a lot. You know how to stop them from running up the score? Don't let them score.

The Florida tv map is hilarious. Why doesn't Tampa Bay control the map? Florida is split between three different games. :lol

I read something about the Rams won't have to have an 11th hour corporate savior to avoid the blackout b/c of all the Chiefs' fans coming. Not exactly a neutral crowd, but there will be red. Haley needs to trust that crowd to carry Brody and play it safe with Cassel.

As a Bears fan, even I can admit the team has had a relatively charmed year. How many QBs keep on going down before the Chicago game and the Bears play the 3rd stringer? :lol

I think the Bears have proven they can compete in the NFC North even when all teams are healthy. However I don't know if the NFC North is any good so it doesn't mean much. Also I don't trust this coaching staff to sustain success next year. So I better enjoy our one and done playoff run this season!

This is true, but they have been on a tear lately. Beating great defensive teams. You were in it because Manning was just a machine that day (til the Int). And your run game isn't as bad. You have James who has been pretty getting decent numbers, Brown who is getting better, and Hart for those two games where he picked up good numbers. Jackson and Starks are not even that good. Packers couldn't muster anything against the lions. No knock on the lions since their front 4 are beastly, but other than that they should have at least gotten a TD.

So yea. Still don't think theres a chance. I used to hate watching Brady win, but now that I'm no longer living in Massachusetts its not as bad.

The man is 0-10. I don't even trust that he knows how to put his helmet on by himself.

(obligatory not using injuries as an excuse)

I think the Packers dominate the division if only JMike had stayed healthy. Everyone else was not a big deal, Finley destroyed the offense. But whatever, the North sucks and we should have been able to adapt.

lol if he keeps getting chances he might go down as one of the worst w/l qb's with a certain amount of games. I'm not sure who has the worst record with 20 starts, but I bet Chris Weinke is close if not the worse with a 2-18 record

Yeah, not in football so much, I guess.

:lol Sounds like a brilliant idea. Actually, Cassel being hit by linebackers ten days after an appendectomy is probably a recipe for disaster anyway, and I bet you will get to see Brody before the game is over, unfortunately.

I was just offended at being called out when I didn't even get to try your BBQ. :D

I remember reading about Akili Smith in a where are they now article by SI a couple years back. Think he is some sort of minister now.

Man, I don't feel good about this Colts game, but I would've felt even worse if they had lost to the Titans last week. Here's hoping we continue our charmed life and don't just get blown out as we are wont to do on bad days.

You also had no fear of Eli Manning and the 5th seed Giants. You probably felt safe being up 100 points against Peyton. Likewise against Flacco at home and Jake the Snake in the playoffs when Shady was undefeated in the postseason.

Point is football is as predictable as Pats fans are charitable. You won't go far relying on either...

Could go either way. Huge game for us and I'm expecting the crowd to be amped, but like I said, Garrard has gone all-star on us the last two times we've played, so I'm expecting it to be tough. Manning will have to be perfect.

A Bears fan posting something sensible?

Now I've seen everything.

MrBob is the only one, despite his propensity to act like a jackass after GB losses. Equus was close for a while there but he's turned into quite the bitch.
.

This has been a shitty week. After this Sunday I see next week being even shittier, if that's possible.
