Wow! Good win. This only hurts our chances at that #1 pick, but whatever. Bring on Saban. Bates is a good guy, and I hope this win earns him a good position somewhere, but Saban is the man we need. Suck it down Pats. :p PEACE.

the Pats have no chance now. It doesn't help that they just aren't as good this year, but now they won't have homefield. No more snow games at Foxboro=Steelers/Colts AFC Title game.

damn, that 2nd to last INT Brady threw would make Jake Plummer shake his head.

Btw, one more win and our season is over. We can rest up everyone and get our defense healhty for the playoffs. 3 weeks off is plenty of time for most injuries to heal. :D

Yep. All the marbles are in play for the Ravens game at home now.

And this puts the Chargers into play for possibly grabbing the bye over the Pats by virtue of AFC records. This loss gives NE a 9-2 AFC record. SD is at 8-2. Pats have the Jets game next week for their final AFC game, while the Chargers have AFC games against the Colts and Chiefs. Prolly still a tougher road for the Chargers, but it is a possibilty. God dammit though, the thought of San Diego getting a bye flashes me back to 1994.....out, out, you damn evil spirits!

long story short:
Chad had a bad game last week. NY Media (as usual) exaggerates and roasts him in the papers.

Chad has great game Sunday. Just gives a simple statement after the game and says "Im not taking any questions, good night guys" and walks away. Media act like babies and roast him again.

Chad tears into media during press conference Monday about how they cried about him refusing to answer questions. "Your job is to be OBjective, not SUBjective."

wow... watching the pennington VS media thing on SportsCenter. He just told off the media in the slickest way ive ever seen. This plus the upset in Miami and i might just be taking the Jets over the Pats next week. Chad's team must be loving this.

Wow, Chad cried even more today. He told the writers that it was their privelage to be able to interview him. Brings to mind an old Cowher addage, "You're never as good as they say you are, and you're never as bad as they say you are." Herm should have passed that one on to Chad at some point in the last two weeks.

not quite. He said it was a privalage to play for the Jets, but it was also a privelage for them to cover the Jets. Players are expected to play with integrity and held to these high standards, but the media, for the most part (with plenty of exceptions, obviously), are allowed to be two-faced scumbags and nobody says a thing about it.

Peter Vescey can come out with an article tommorrow about how his "sources" (which have long proven to be full of 18 tons of bullshit) tell him Patrick Ewing eats babies, and not only will it probably be printed, but other writers will piggyback on this shit and run with their own Patrick Ewing:Baby Eater stories.

Yeah, but I don't think it's about whether he's right or not. Nothing he says will change anything. We all know how the media is. They were there long before Chad and they'll be there long after Chad. And I can't imagine them being on their best behavior from here on out after his tongue lashing. I suppose if it somehow fires their team up it's worth it.....but I'm not sure it means anything in the long run.

you better fucking believe i'm interested! wait, you mean pennington has a shitty game and the media roasts him, and when he has a good game they praise him? HALLELUJAH, HOLY SHIT!


with that said, i hope the jets stomp the pats this week. pennington is the real deal, we all know that, and nothing would make me happier than the pats NOT getting a bye :D

They won't have homefield only if they play the Steelers in the AFC title game. They'll still be at home for the divisional round game and the AFC championship if Pittsburgh doesn't make it. (Just for the record, this scenario holds as long as the Colts beat the Chargers and the Pats beat the 9ers. If the Patriots lose the next two weeks, or if the Chargers and Jets win next week, then San Diego gets the bye and the home game in the divisional round).

That, and the fact that the Patriots are the better team when against the Colts.
