A team can have a great record even with bad coaching.

Considering how talented the Falcons are and how consistent they play at certain aspects of the game, Mora obviously knows how to prepare them. But, from the very little I have seen, he doesn't seem to be the greatest tactical mind. Maybe that isn't Mora's fault though and it is the fault of the offensive coordinator, I really don't know (or care). But, I was saying for the last 2 or 3 years that I didn't understand why the Falcons didn't pass the ball more to put the pressure on other team's defenses. Just seemed obvious with how well they run the ball. I also remember the horrible clock management of the Falcons in the Steelers game. Just makes me wonder.

I will pay close attention to the Falcons if they make the playoffs and then we can see who was right about their coaching.

So do you consider the Eagles coach to be a good one? Because they are a great example of horrible clock management.

The problem with the Falcons is going to be their defense, not their offense. It's the same song and dance for Falcon fans, the injury bug does a number on 'em. Abraham is never healthy, but aside from him they've been having problems with their DTs as well and I think Ed Hartwell IIRC.

ATL has the best D-line in football if they are all healthy. Kearny, Jackson, Coleman, Abraham.

Tactical coaching is a lot more than just clock management.

Good point. Though is that Reid's fault or McNabb's or both?

And I don't know what to think about Reid. The guy is just obsessed with throwing the ball.

I know. Even when he says that he's going to run the ball more, what happens, he starts airing it out like he's got Manning, Harrison, and Wayne on his offense. Of course, when your running backs are made of glass, it kind of makes sense. :D

Bionic's just bitter that his team got beat by us and then followed that up with a stinker at Oakland. They have the same record as the Browns!

i dont see the falcons or browns with one of these babies

Hmmm I think I might pick against Denver for the first time in the pick'em this season. It's obvious they are far and away a better team than Pittsburgh but I don't see the Steelers going 2 and freakin 6 :lol

Tedesco, you need to avatar bet Darien- he'd look much better with this:

I of course would do it myself but I have other commitments. :(

You answered your own question right there. It's not so much Mora than it is Knapp(cue FMT)

It looks like he's finally starting to get it and giving Vick more passing attempts and is calling passing plays that Vick is actually comfortable with.

QFT. Hartwell is back, but he still looks like he's not fully recovered from surgery. Abraham being out is really affecting our pass rush and Donatell is really slow about going away from a 4 man rush which without Abe gives QBs all day to pick apart his soft ass zone.

We also have one big ass liability in the secondary by the name of Jason Webster. Without an effective 4 man rush any receiver lined up against him is good for a 100yd day.

You also didn't think Big Ben would beat the Broncos, win a Superbowl in his second year, and go 28-4.

I really don't know much about the Falcons, but it still falls on the head coach.

Your right in the end it comes back to the head coach, but it's kind of hard to throw Mora under the bus, especially when he's a defensive minded coach. His fault would be trusting his OC too much.

It's going to be so very sweet watching Seattle crumble.

Let's hope they meet in the playoffs that will be oh so sweet watching vick throw 3-4 ints and lose by a 21+ point margin.

we are going to get torn to pieces by brad johnson. i don't see how we are going to stop the vikings or anyone else on our schedule unless our players magically become adequate on defense. i predict a vikings win, 37-17.... and i'm being generous!

Don't lose hope. I heard Brad likes to ride a motorcycle without a helmut. Maybe your defense can't stop him, but I am willing to bet that gravity can!

We at home though, we haven't really lost that bad at home... Oh wait, yes we did: Philly.

If we don't turn it over 4 ****ing times I think we might have a chance.

i have lost my smile with the 49ers. i no longer have hope that we can win any games :( make me believe 49ers!

Yeah... I even went to that game. At least I got to see LT live for once in my life. Phillip Rivers even looked amazing out there. We need a ****ing win.

Yes you can, you just need Brandon Lloyd again. We'll happily trade him back to you for free.

It's actually kind of surprising how badly that guy is playing for you guys. He seemed pretty good for us even though he was being doubled in some games. Got a huge contract... atleast he's still rapping.

method that's what happens when you have an offense with absolutely NO TALENT, then even mediocre people look decent (brandon lloyd).

he is a decent #3 receiver at best, nothing more

I was rooting for the Broncos to get the big emotional win against the Colts last week so they can have the let down this week. Now, it'll all be about the championship game revenge. Steelers lost three players to injury last week too. Things are so bad there may even be a Duce sighting. I'm not getting my hopes too high. Being back home will be some kind of lift for the Steelers though.

Yea, Randle El was a much better add and worth the money. In hindsight, I wish we would have taken Owens as that prototypical outside receiver in free agency. At the very least we'd have tons of entertaining press coverage. :lol

Hartwell may need a few games to get completely going after surgery (i.e. Crumpler) but one benefit of him being back is that he is a bigger body in the middle for opposing teams to account for which means Brooking can make more plays off the weak side.

I wonder how long they will wait before putting Jimmy Williams in. I mean besides that one big play to Chris Henry in the second half of the last game, our defense played very well, generating pressure with LBs and safeties, making Palmer rush his throws.

It would be nice if Abraham somehow makes it back in the time they say because that would be the New Orleans game.

here is the link to the song:
http://hype.non-standard.net/track/190367

there going to play the song at giants stadium this sunday when they introduce the D

They were playing clips of it on Sunday against the Bucs. :lol

Can't wait, the Giants are a perfect 5-0 with me in attendance. Like I said last year, my powers are so strong that they sparked the comeback against Denver in our home game. If I can get tickets to the bear game, we'd be shoe-ins.

I'll actually be cheering for the G-men when they play the Bears....someone needs to knock them down a notch.

That's it. Giants will now beat Houston by +17. Jay Feely will kick a field goal and start breakdancing. Cloudy curse FTL.

I'll try to raise my record to 5-2 when I go see the bears

maybe I should give you my ticket so the giants win for sure:lol

I'd be fine with winning two of the next three games, as long as one of those is the Bears. That is going to be the game that finally shuts critics up. (And makes me get off the "Giant Football" soap box about how inconsistent they are)

It's a shame that scammers are really trying to get over on that game. I wouldn't mind paying $150 per seat, but there were some on the Giants MB that were going for a freakin grand.

30. Oakland Raiders (2-5) – Considering the flack the Raiders got for signing him last season, defensive end Derrick Burgess and his 23½ sacks in 22 games make him look like the franchise's best move in years. Conversely, the franchise has to be looking for a way to get out from under running back LaMont Jordan's contract.

WTF!!! Give him a freakin OLine first!

I need some friggin revenge.. I'm confident that the 49ers will win their next TWO games, and I can't get back at Eminem until next year's playoffs(if the bears make it). That being the case I have to act out my revenge on two of his NFC Norris counterparts, so I'm extending TWO one week avatar challenges... The first is to Slo, as I have no doubt that Sad Johnson & The Chester will fall when they come to Monster Park, and the second is to Whytemyke..There is NO WAY we lose to the LOLions...

No kidding. Here we are discussing the season thus far, THIS YEAR, and they have to go.....but look at what we did LAST YEAR.

fargas is working with the same o-line and producing better. jordan seems lazy and has no heart.

What do you take me for, FMT...!?

His games as a starter:

Against Pitt: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/live/NFL_20061029_PIT@OAK

18 carries for 55 yards

Against Arizona: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/live/NFL_20061022_ARI@OAK

23 carries for 66 yards

Same Oline, different backs, same craptacular results.

It's very different to come in as a fresh back to spell a starter against a tired D than to be that starter. Justin Fargas benefitted from that earlier in the year (8 carries for 63 yards against the Niners), but has been lackluster as a starter/main ball carrier.

No, it doesn't surprise me. Maybe they should have their own "We won the Super Bowl last year so it doesn't matter that we stink this year" thread. :D
