That is optimistic. I think the series may be dead since NHL isn't very big in the USA and EA's game has been crushing NHL 2Kn in sales.

Until the series is officially dead, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It won't be easy though. EA, outside of a few glaring problems, has put out a great hockey game the last few years.

Does the new physics engine make Crosby's tears more realistic?

they said on OperationSports they fixed all of the ways people did it last year but they don't have a permanent fix as people may find new ways to do it again

I still haven't gotten to try the demo. I've admittedly been a 2K Sports guy for many years, although I didn't care for 2K10; 2K9 was a better effort. I tried NHL 10 after hearing so much about it, but didn't like its overall feel. I'm hoping 11 addresses some of my dislikes.

It was just a lot of little things... Things like the goalies looked awkward/big-headed, only select players having their actual likeness (faces), the erratic puck physics, something felt off about about playing defense too (I never quite found the same groove I did in 2K9). It just all added up to turning me off. I still have the game and may revisit it with an open mind, but as it stands, it didn't charm me in quite the way 2K9 did. *shrug*

I love that the sniper gets such a low amount. Hopefully that'll keep douchebags from 99'ing everything wristshot again this year.

There were no puck physics before this year. :lol

The giant headed goalies is something I always though was a 2K problem. The player models looked really bizarre in 2K10.

Playing defense is much improved this year though. The new physics means players dont just bounce off of you anymore. I encourage you to play the demo. It feels a lot different from last year.

Then again, last year I laid people out and took my chances with an elbowing or cross checking penalty over those godawful high sticking and tripping calls.

The attributes thread on OS did bring up a good point in re: to upping your stats for endurance and stuff for your hustle. If your team doesn't dump and chase, it might not seem all too important a stat. Unless you're always playing out of position I suppose.

i think you hit it on the head, i play sound positional d and havent really needed to use the hustle button much in the demo. I think hustle will be more important for forwards and not dmen in the eashl so i might skimp on endurance points in my dman build

In the past, unless you were playing against terrible human Dmen, dumping and chasing didnt work at all. Hopefully with the hustle button, that will change. It'd be nice to see the game go from constant end-to-end play to actually needing to get the puck deep in the zone.

It does seem like proper positioning and cycling are far more important this year as well.

I always say that, but by that time there's always news about the next game, and I lost the motivation to buy the current game that will be obsolete soon. And the cycle goes and I don't buy any of them for years until I randomly break down (which will be this year).

Looking at the achievement list this seems like another year of me putting well over 100 hours into this game only to come away with like 300 or so achievement points hahaha (I enjoy the sim aspects of sports games as opposed to playing randoms online). Yeah those ratings are pretty much a disaster all around, whoever is responsible must have had a practical joke played on them where they were given stats and game footage from the 08-09 season instead of last year, so many players are criminally underrated...

EA doesn't reward 1 year wonders like Keith with a great overall rating

Also it seems like defenseman's overall has been nerfed across the board, there is not a single 90+ overall.

Though I do wonder how Marc Savards overall rating went UP this past season.
