Larry Murphy playing D is the same as playing O for the other team. ;-)He's going to get drunk and play D for the Wings in that order.

Could also go for the likes of Sergei Berezin or Peter Zezel!

"In the deal, announced by Penguins general manager Craig Patrick, the Capitals get Jagr and defenseman Frantisek Kucera, and send Kris Beech, Michal Sivek, Ross Lupaschuk to Pittsburgh.
Patrick said he was delighted with the players Pittsburgh received.
He called Beech the key to the deal and a potential franchise player whose skills are similar to former Penguins great Ron Francis.
Before the deal, the New York Rangers were believed to be the front runner to obtain Jagr. However, Patrick said he was never satisfied with any of the offers made for Jagr until talks with the Capitals became serious "within the last day or so.""
LOOOOOL.
Igor Larionov is also confirmed.I can see into the future!!!
Seeing as how that is the only partial lineup right now, still holding out hope that Yzerman, Federov, Lids, and even Hull might join. Nice to see Robitaille on their, didn't expect that and we get to see the grind line together again. Oh and maybe even Shanny, that would be sweet.
Edit: It looks like there will be 2 alumni games now since there is a ton of players that they want to add, sweet!
I highly doubt yuskevich is on good terms with the leafs
"The most respectable person in leafs organization is Carlton the bear"
Igor Larionov is also confirmed.
Great lineups already, and so many names left they could add. Sundin has to play, and I can't imagine Lidstrom not participating. Cool that Gordie is on there, even just seeing him in a Red Wings jersey on the bench would be amazing.
If he doesn't recognize Gordie Howe then he needs punched in the face.
Is anyone going to sign Andrei Kostitsyn?
Who in here has actually skated with Gordie Howe?
*Raises hand with smug look on face*
Who here played with Gordie Howe's grandson in Squirt and actually was friends with him and had Gordie come to one of our games as well and talk to us after the game and so on. That's what I thought.
I was on the ice with him. ON THE ICE. WITH THE LEGEND.
That's about as far as my NHL celebrity stuff goes.
My younger brother played against Justin Abdelkader in the MHSAA state tournament, but I wouldn't call him a celebrity. My older brother played minor league hockey but all I can remember is Ed Belfour coming to their practice once.

So out of Leafs-GAF and Wings-GAF do you think any of us will actually win the "random" draw to be able to purchase tickets to the winter classic?
Why in good god do they need a drawing? It's 100,000 seats!

Still get chills seeing the Kane goal.

I know you're a Hawks fan and all, but really? That and Crosby's Olympic winning goal are two of the most anti-climatic goals ever.
Yeah, I wasn't sure of what happened at first but then when they showed it was a goal I pretty much did this in my living room:We started celebrating but all I could think was man the hawks are gonna go down as the biggest bunch of crumbums if that didn't go in and they lose this game
Funny.... I get hives....
One aspects revealed by Nash's list of "approved" destinations -- Boston, Detroit, the New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and San Jose -- it's that he'd rather play for his country than in his country. Not one of Canada's seven NHL franchises made the list, including the club Nash grew up worshipping, the Toronto Maple Leafs. What does that say?

I was talking to my dad today and I figured out what I think the Flyers motto should be at this point: "Matt Read and a 1st"
That's officially what I think the upper limit should be on dealing for Homer. If he can't get a player that he thinks improves the team for "Matt Read and a 1st" then just back away and stick with what we've got. There's realistically nobody in the league that we can get that wouldn't require a massive overpayment or that would be an overall detriment to the team's future. If we can't get the guy for Read and a 1st the deal probably isn't a net positive for the Flyers in terms of long term cap stability with all the young guys we have. Supposedly we're in talks for Bouwmeester.... who has a cap hit over 6m. With that kind of cap hit I stand by my motto. Other than that he can make an offer to Doan, and roll the dice with what we've got. If close to the deadline we're sellers then he can reassess the situation then.
More likely what will happen is we'll trade Couturier and Voracek for Nash and I'll die a little inside.
Reports Glendale has rejected Tax initiative..definitely puts the future of Coyotes in doubt, and more immediately Doan likely on to market...
More to come
They can't reject it until the election this fall. I'm not sure what he's babbling about.HUGE NEWS:
