They should be labeled as what they are. Hate groups, and treated as such. You don't see groups like them that are openly for oppressing other minorities. Also a constitutional amendment to for marrige equality and equal rights. Anyway this is out of place in this thread back to NHL-age.
Maybe not openly, but from what I've been reading the groups involved with the Chick-fil-a aren't the picketing sort either. Could be wrong though.
Problem is there is just no on/off switch for bigotry. Unless someone is viciously attacking someone either verbally or physically, then I usually take it with a grain of salt. Nothing I say or do will change them. I've been called a "faggot" in person, from members of this forum, hell, a member of this thread. Lately, I just save my venom for truly terrible individuals.
You're right though. NHL off season is a pretty slow one for me. I thought that I would just pop in and share my opinions as it seemed a relevant topic at the moment.
They affect his teammates, the Bruins organization, Bruins fans, gay people, etc. I don't hate the guy. I just think he's ignorant and selfish. Seems to be a pretty widespread opinion across the NHL.
I don't disagree with you on most of those fronts. Normally, I would say "meh" on the teammates. Hockey is still one of the last remaining sports where this actually matters anymore.
From jus a quick google search I found that Thomas has previously donated to Tea Party group FreedomWorks according to Breitbart.com. This is an extremely anti-union group that helped the anti-refoms in Ohio pass. Also by supporting CFA he is helping to deny Americans the right to marrige which definitely hurts people.
Most of that is still backed by religion, then simply intolerance. Tea Party or not, neither are disappearing anytime soon.
