Rumor habs have offered patches + weber + 1st and someone else for Iginla :( patches

Habs love them some monster contracts. If this is real, it must mean they're going to do something with Gomez because there is no way they can absorb that cap hit otherwise.

What the fucking what?

LOL. Uh...okay?

And yeah, Habs would be pretty stupid trying to snag Iginla. Unless you're making a Cup run, you don't give up your future for a 34 year old Iginla. Sure, he's still productive, but he's in the twilight years.

Pavelec!

Awesome second period. Exciting as hell, just wish Jets could pad the lead. God that alley-oop would have been amazing if it had worked

Its just a shame Turris doesn't have a price tag on his back instead of a name

Jesus fuck Buff wtf was that shit.

I feel like he would really flourish if he wasn't on bumfuck Calgary though.

Yeah. In all seriousness, if we could get them to feed off each other for a 50/50 deal with a tight leash on both, I say keep them going into playoffs. The only dangerous thing is we lose all trade value after that.

So apparently patches is out of the deal Now, thank god but there's a lot of rumors an offers been made and he's gotta decide tonight and that shit might go down after the san Jose game

There is one coach and one coach only for Montreal:

Patrick "I'll have my son punch your wife" Roy.

I don't even know why anyone is blabbing about Carlyle or Muller. If the latter wanted to be in Montreal he would have stayed there.

Iginla going anywhere is going to be weird, like Modano going to the Red Wings. I'd really like to see him get his name on the Cup but sadly, that's probably not going to happen.

Uhhh actually he left because Martin has a few years on his contract and it's obvious they weren't gonna kick him, so why would he stay as an assistant when he can get more experience else where?

Is this an E5 thing, or something legit?

That incarcaratedbob guy who's actually called quite a few things is reporting it + a few other so called "insiders" who are probably just powers but the IBN guy has made a few correct calls before.

so just weber + 1st or did we include someone else instead of max pac?

Apparently its an older player plus picks and such. Kinda hoping for a sharks blowout to really see some change tonight.

Iginla being shopped around is not a new rumor. He wants a cup and the Flames are in a funk and probably wanting more pieces to help with a rebuild.

cammy back to flames? gionta? captain for captain lol

fuck why am i getting excited, we all know habs won't get anyone :(

we are always "close" to getting the player we want but someone beats us to the punch every time

Yes, and that experience was... becoming a junior coach in the Nashville Predators organization. This tells us that he weighed the benefits and costs of staying in Montreal and decided that taking a job in Milwaukee was a better idea. If he'd expressed any real desire to stay, you don't think Montreal would have been able to shuffle him down to their AHL affiliate for some head coaching experience?

Look, I want Muller to coach in Montreal - the narrative is perfect - but only after he's cut his teeth somewhere else. Despite the obvious negative impact his departure had on the team, it needed to happen since he's not ready to take on the top job with one of the NHL's flagship enterprises. Let him bumble and learn in Carolina, and return as your qualified saviour in 2/3 years.

agreed

gionta and cole have NTC ... ugh

cammy is one that will go i guess :( he has a limited ntc ... maybe gorges?

No way Gorges is future captain material and been one of our best players all season. One source is saying it doesn't go through until Sunday and bouwmeester is included but he's not proven and like you said we never seem to land these types of players so I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

While I'm sure people will ramble on about "poetic justice", I'll post this anyway.

John Carlson headshots Matt Cooke late in the third.

About as clear cut a headshot as they get. No penalty called. I know no one here cares but Cooke has exactly 8 penalty minutes to his name in 26 games and has played about as clean as you can. I wonder if the league will even take a look at this.

bou? fuck this trade, dude is bad luck

gorges got only 1 year contract, won't be surprised if he's the one to go, he's a ufa this summer

They were so stupid to only give Gorges a one year contract. He is leading the NHL in blocked shots, or was as of yesterday anyways.

Oh thank god, that last minute was giving me heart palpitations. The hockey gods definitely wanted the Jets to have this one, that bouncing puck that got past Pavelec, bounced funny and then skidded right past the post instead of going straight in like it was seemingly destined to do was a sign.

Pavelec deserved the shutout big time. Kane should have had like 4 goals tonight.

Bittersweet goal. Just throw it over the glass sharks you'll get a couple good chances on the PK.

Cammy!!! Now don't go on the powerplay and keep up the pressure.

Edit: Fuck, that was quick. Gill and Weber awful there.
