Budweiser Canada's big commercial for Sunday.

Must have been the best day of those guys' lives.

Wow, that must have been surreal for them. I just imagine that with interview during the intermission and everything.

Just a quick Stealth Brag ...

I experienced my first Home and Home ... Drove to pittsburgh two nights ago .. Saw the game at the Consol Energy Center..

Drove home yesterday in the AM .. and went to the game at the ACC...

I'm quite happy with the 3/4 point result.. Especially since we ran into a hot team (7 wins in a row) and we were in their building as well. Yes we had the 4-1 lead but .. I mean .. Whatever.

Also, great win last night -- This is the time where the Grabo, Kule, Mac line starts the heat up.. a la last season.

I'm jealous, I plan to one day go for a road trip like that. But probably more a Mon/Tor or Ott/Tor.

The players absolutely did. Their fans, too, however few. And I'm sure the organization would like to see the occasional win when possible - they don't need any help in securing that #1 pick.

They won't be able to fix it, but I really hope there's some transparency here. These are the times when the NHL either builds or loses credibility.

Yeah, I wanted that point.

Just read an article in the Detroit Free Press about how Gordie Howe is struggling with dementia :(

I actually met him once at the arena named after him in Traverse City. There was an open skate and he was out there with us. I was a terrible skater and he helped me out with my movement. He also talked to my Dad about the NHL for about a half hour. Great, great guy.

Campbell is a piece Of shit. Give Columbus an OT point at the very least. That city's gone through enogh this season. They've just discovered that even time is conspiring against them, they don't need this non-action from the league.

Then they'll only be 10 points out of second to last place, that'll help for sure!

This is almost like the USC - Utah football game last year. But I think in that case they overturned some points and the other team ended up winning the game hours after it had ended. (people were picking up betting slips from the floor to collect winnings!)

I agree, Columbus should get an OT point.

Yeah, just read that as well, I know I have mentioned before that I played on a team with his grandson and Gordie actually came to one of our games, and I got to meet him and what not, but he was a pretty cool person, it is sad to hear this. :(

What a waste. Oh well, it should drive up Moen and Gill's value for the trade deadline. I just hope Gauthier doesn't go out to get rentals when we're not making the playoffs. Don't think I'm going to watch the game tonight, I have other shit to do, and New Jersey games are never entertaining in any way.

Roy fined again $5000 for tearing into the Q to the media :lol if he does get a job in Montreal it would be a lot more entertaining then the mess we have now.

Flyers stuff:
Bryz getting the nod tonight. he DID play well last game, but Bob is getting the shaft over and over again.

Lilja in, Gus out - what the fuck?!

Briere says he's close to returning, not much on JVR.

Great news about Bryz getting the start tonight, hopefully he can start putting a streak of good games.

DK about great news. Bob has been putting up good numbers AND getting the W, where you can't really say the same about bryz for either category besides last game.

I just feel like we're mis-using our goalies again. I'd like lavy to show bryz that he's not the guaranteed #1 and Bob can steal the show, but it doesn't look like that'll happen.

Is it just a few fans being really vocal (eg, with signs) or is there an actual movement?

Seems like he might have upset a restaurant owner/waitress and now they're alleging he skipped out on a tab. Otherwise I haven't seen anything.

this is the article I read: http://spectorshockey.net/wordpress/2012/02/02/evander-kane-drawing-criticism-in-winnipeg/

-An “I Hate Evander Kane” page has sprung up on Facebook, while Kane has taken down his own Facebook page, as well as ceased commenting on his Twitter account, in the wake of the personal attacks and unsubstantiated gossip.

I'm reading all this stuff on Evander Kane. Jets fans can't really want to run him out of town right?

Do they really need Kane when they've got Big "Defensive Liability" Buff?

Fun fact: Byfuglien is 7th in blocked shots amongst defensemen on the team. 7th. Think about that for a moment here.

Have the new avatar in anticipation of the Sundin jersey retirement. Born in 1990, I grew up watching him. Extremely excited to see the jersey raised next Saturday.

KingHenrik30: News to me! I dunno if they're making something out of nothing or maybe I just haven't been following things closely.

I've heard people talking about it, but no actual movement. General perception from my experience is that it's been a strong rumour that would suck if true. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone even saying that they "want him out of town".

I read here that the NHL investigated it and turned up nothing. There was also a reporter who had looked into the restaurants independently and got no confirmation of the story being true.

You do realize that Byfuglien has missed about 15 games due to injury right? Probably not. Your saltiness amuses me though.

Let E. Kane know that he's welcome in Chicago if he leaves Winnipeg.

Huh:

The rumors about Kane skipping out on restaurant tabs and getting his concussion from a barroom fight were reported by Lawless and Friesen to be false, but that hasn’t quelled the growing dislike for Kane.

And:

I Hate Evander Kane

The first two posts:

"there is so many things wrong with this post"
"i've herd from numerous sources"

And apparently there were pictures of monkeys on the group page beforehand.

Sounds like a vocal (and ignorant) minority making a stink out of nothing. A shame. I would totally understand if he wanted out of Winnipeg, but he probably doesn't want to validate these people either.

Well, that's balls. Bunch of idiots.

I really hope the rumours quiet down and the ignorant shitheads shut up.

About Kane, I am fine with whatever he does off the ice as long as it is legal and it does not affect his performance on the ice. You may have noticed that he is on the IR with a concussion. Now, I have seen each and every Jets game this season and I have seen nothing out of the ordinary for hits when it came to Kane. I've heard rumours aplenty about him in regards to this concussion that it was at some nightclub incident and he got his ass kicked for being a douche, but I really don't care. As long as he produces on the ice, that's all I ask of him. There is no chance in hell that I want him traded, as I think he is going to be a force in the NHL to be reckoned with. I'm not insane, so of course I want to hold on to him. I think he's an RFA at the end of this year, meaning we at least have the right to match any offers he is given, which I think we should do so.

But that's not a call for me to make. I know one thing for sure: The Jets are a much better team when Evander Kane is producing as he can than without him. This summer is going to be interesting, and I hope he remains with us. Rumours and hearsay be damned.

Byfuglien and Burmistrov are back tonight in Tampa. I hope they can help us win, since we cannot afford to take ANY team lightly at this time. We need all the wins we can muster.

Jets investigated and determined that the nightclub rumour was false. While this could be a 'cover up', seems a lot more likely to me that it is actually false and some knobs on the internet had made it up to explain his concussion.

As for him being an RFA, the Jets very likely won't have to "match offers". They'll have plenty of time to negotiate with him exclusively before offer sheets come into play.

Ottawa will take Kane if he's available, there is no night life or clubs in Ottawa so no problem here. (Unless he learns french goes across the bridge to Hull)

Zibenajad for Kane.

I'm trying to confirm what I just heard on PTI.

Dean Lombardi just said the clock was fine, that it stopped because it went faster earlier in the minute so it re calibrated at that time.

edit: And LeBrun just confirmed that on TSN right now...wooooow really that's your excuse?

Uh, how did they make the time go faster than? Only thing I can think of is a mechanical issue as I don't think they have anything that can speed up the time unless I'm wrong.

Found it:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=386722
"Those clocks are sophisticated instruments that calculate time by measuring electrical charges called coulombs, explained Kings general manager Dean Lombardi in an email to TSN. "Given the rapidity and volume of electrons that move through the measuring device the calibrator must adjust at certain points which was the delay you see – the delay is just recalibrating for the clock moving too quickly during the 10 - 10ths of a second before the delay - this insures that the actual playing time during a period is exactly 20 minutes. That is not an opinion - that is science - amazing devise quite frankly."

Winnipeg is a joke. Running a player out of town because of gossip...the city doesn't deserve a team.

Gossip happens with sports that are in places that actually give a shit. Canadian teams always have more of this type of shit because hockey is a big deal there. Look at the US, there is so much drama and gossip surrounding the NBA, NFL, and MLB because that's what people care about here. Also, lol the Stars.
