I think he'll do you good as long as you don't play him on the 1st PP unit.

Honestly I think you just won this trade right now.

I think our GM wanted Gilroy out of college before NYR go him, but so far it seems he hasn't lived up to the billing.

Although players signed out of college usually take a few years to adjust to the NHL, so probably too soon to tell.
Yeah I didn't think there would be any interest in Gilroy. He makes a ton of mistakes in the defensive end. He can move the puck and every once and awhile will do something terrific you don't expect of him, but otherwise, he's usually a liability.

However, I will say part of his troubles this season have likely been because we've needed him to be a top 4 defenseman because of all our injuries and lack of depth. If he ends up being a bottom-pairing D in Ottawa, he might be alright.

So much speculation on Nash. Player has not been asked to waive as of yet. 45 mins to deadline. Time crunch!! #tradecentre

Nash should just start a blog

pringles has been so salty since that loss to Vancouver that he didn't care about

That's hockey? Most guys can at least fake it if they aren't happy.
No need to fake it. Honestly I think it's a bit stupid that TSN gets them on the phone so quickly when they're still reacting to it and maybe haven't even spoken to friends and family. Pahlsson also probably isn't too hot on the idea of being a rental again.

Why are we picking up a center, that's the one position where we're overstocked anyway, with Henrik, Kes, Hodgson, Malhotra, Lapierre who has to play wing and Ebbet who's injured... You guys say two 4th round picks isn't bad (it's true, i couldn't care less about those picks), but the cap hit is what matters in this trade. Where are we gonna get a depth D for 2.0M...

No he'll be a bottom pairing D-man here, I doubt he gets more than 10min ice time if that.

I'll miss Oduya's awesome 'mo most of all.

The breath taking giveaways? Not as much.

Sadly, while he looks stylish and downright chill in this photo, it was late in the third period and the Flyers ended up tying the game a few seconds after this pic was taken. :(

I'll admit it did seem a bit awkward when he said "Yeah I texted my wife but not sure she got it yet." Still, even if a player hated Buffalo I'd want some lip service about a new opportunity, etc.

How many players on TSN's "trade bait" bar have actually been moved? One?

Re: Pahlsson

Some old guy: "This is about outwitting the Wings by taking a player that they would have gone for."
Steve Simmonds: "Does he have anything left in the tank? I have no idea. But it is not a bad move for the Canucks"

TSN's 'C' panel unwilling to say "I don't understand".

Color me disappointed that the Habs, who should be the biggest sellers this side of Columbus, have only brokered one deal.

Just got in and learned about the Aulie deal. I'm very happy with it. Actually, it's probably a good deal for both teams since TB can use some defensive depth and the Leafs needed another good forward prospect.

Aulie may or may not be a good defenceman in the future, but he really sucked this year. Holzer has passed him on the depth chart by a mile.

Oh man completely forgot about Korbinian Holzer. This pushes him up higher on the depth chart as well.
