Carlyle stays. His assistants will be gone, probably. I think all of the assistants are from Ron Wilson save for one.

EDIT: It actually is pretty similar to Casey's path as coach. I wonder if that was any influence here. Casey had one year left on his contract. Forced to get new assistants.

Look, ignore the advanced stats argument completely.

It was pointed out before but at Randy Carlyle's press conference, he basically admitted he had no idea what was wrong with this team.

So with that, there's no guarantees of the team improving. There might be new faces in the coaching staff but how much influence will that really have?

Thoughts on the upcoming TSN3, TSN4 and TSN5?

Definitely gives them the opportunity to air more specialised and niche sports, as well as cater more to specific regions, but unless they pick up more soccer games I can't see myself giving a shit.

Anyone wishing to see more IIHF heavyweights like France v Lithuania will be happy, of course.

Oh and fuck the inevitable rise in prices. I've got a deal on cable right now but the moment that expires it's back to Netflix and piracy.

If they keep Carlyle, they MUST trade away/let go of the players that don't play well in his system. That means Gardiner, Kulemin, Clarkson, Kadri.
If they keep Carlyle and there's no megaton trade to improve the team then I may just skip watching them for the year.

Yeah I dislike the fact that Carlyle seemingly singled out Gardiner just because he did not follow his system/advice. I don't see Gardiner staying if Carlyle is coming back and that's a shame... unless they fleece SJ Gardiner for Couture

lol... I remember predicting the Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson line to be the best 2nd line in the NHL this year... the media overhyped the signing!

I'm not even angry, I'm just done.
Like how can they be this stupid. A couple assistant coaches and Reimer are our fall guys for two years of amazingly terrible defensive mistakes. Hard to believe anyone working in hockey can not watch this team and realize how terrible the team is. This team is not making the playoffs next year, this team is not finishing bottom 5 either and this team will continue to be terrible.

The Leafs better hope they get off to a good start next year. Might be a little awkward to hear Fire Carlyle chants that early in the season.
