I think they're going to be bad. Starting from scratch isn't easy and they lack great players. Plus there's going to be a decent gap between NHL-ready and prospects.

So the way they announced the Carolina 5th to Vegas just before the Jets pick makes me think the Jets are going to end up with Ward or Lack or something shitty like that. Lame, and I'm not sure it would be worth trading down a bunch to save a couple extra forwards to do it.

It's not. It could have been significantly better, though. It was actually possible to put together a genuinely competitive team with the options that were available and unprotected.

They're certainly better than the Avalanche, at the very least.
