That was a fantastic series, almost as good as the 2009 one imo. Ducks played well and were the better team for the most part in the first 4-5 games. Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Howard carried us to this series win. I'm exhausted from these 7 games.. making the playoffs was my only goal this season, didn't expect us to take a series, so anything that happens now is just a bonus.

Sorry to Ducks fans, your team didn't deserve to go out so soon, and let's face it Anaheim would have a bigger chance in the 2nd round than Detroit has.

All I know is that with the way Chicago fans are talking about this matchup it would be completely epic and hilarious if Detroit somehow won. Let's not forget Quenneville has never beat Detroit in the playoffs.

You guys seriously earned that win. Well done. I wouldn't say we had the intensity of 2009 that made it as spectacular, but the momentum went your way and you kept with it. Babcock is still a fantastic coach even to this day.

Yeah, and we've been really strong at Staples this year. After last season's run, it's easy to get overconfident about the team's ability to win on the road, but that was last year.

Anyone know when Game 1 is scheduled?

Dude it's the Capitals, we've only managed to win four out of the 10 series we've lead 2-0 all-time.

We've done this with the Caps before.

Also, we've only ever come back from down 3-2 twice. Against the Devils in the 94 ECF, and against the Senators last year in the opening round. In both cases game 7 was at MSG.

That said, I actually do feel pretty good about this right now. It's time for a combo breaker.




Was just watching some post-game interviews and one jumped out at me. Brassard admitted in the locker room that he was actually going to pass the puck back to Moore, which is why he initially faked the shot, but then he changed his mind because of the crowd shouting "SHOOT IT!"

That might be the first time I've ever heard of that actually working.

Gomez isn't even close to being the worst 4th line center. He was a terrible value, but as a player he was still at least NHL caliber.

I missed pretty much the entire game, but I did catch that live. I paused, rewound, and watched it in slow-motion several times. Partly because I wanted to know why he even fell (still not sure) and partly because he never falls but when he does it's fucking awesome.

Just got back from the Honda Center, brought a Wings fan with me and she was wearing her Chelios jersey, for some reason the section we were in had lots of Wings fans in it so it was pretty cool.. loooool @ the salt while walking to the car.

Also, I am in complete disbelief that the Leafs are taking the Bruins to a game 7. Them winning would be insane.

Not really.

Toronto beating Washington or the Rangers to get to the conference finals... now THAT would be insane.

Winning on Monday would just be yet another Bruins early-round collapse when they were the overwhelming favorites and had a seemingly insurmountable lead... something we've seen happen at least once every two years for the past DECADE.

2002 - #1 Boston lost to #8 Montreal despite being the top seed in the conference after splitting the first 4 games.
2004 - #2 Boston lost to #7 Montreal after leading the series 2-0 and 3-1.
2009 - #1 Boston to #6 Carolina after choking out of the gates and losing Games 2, 3 & 4 after finally slaying the Montreal dragon in the first-round (after 3 consecutive playoff exits to the Habs).
2010 - #6 Boston lost to #7 Philadelphia after leading 3 games to 0, becoming the first team to choke away a 3-0 series lead since the 1975 Pittsburgh Penguins.
2012 - #2 Boston lost to #7 Washington after being largely dominant in the 2nd half of the regular season. All 7 games were decided by a single goal - the first time that's ever happened in NHL playoff history.

Oh and the common theme of those past four chokejobs. ALL OF THOSE SERIES WENT 7 GAMES.

So yeah, Boston Bruins fans aren't in complete disbelief at all at this turn of events.
WE EXPECTED IT!

We also expect to lose on Monday night. Although I'm going to do my part to try and ensure that doesn't happen by recreating the exact circumstances of Games 1, 3 & 4 (wearing my Bergeron jersey while listening to a CBC.ca stream at my computer at work) and not the exact circumstances of Games 2, 5 & 6 (not wearing any jersey and sitting in the exact same chair at a friend's place while watching the game with a bunch of Leaf fans on a 65" television).

Or goal post moving from "bruins in 3" to "bruins in 5 because they felt bad for the Leafs" to now just silence.
