Oil pulled through last night but they were not the better team on the ice last night. They have g by even most of the series but not last night. I had zero faith they were going to hold it together. But they did.

I’m cheering for the panthers and Kraken tonight!

Hahaha, Bruins out.

I was wrong in my post above. The upset is the second biggest ever. I forgot about the Oilers/Kings series from the early 80s the commentators brought up tonight.

Well, Bruins did overachieve this year, but they should had beaten them. The Bruins team is basically the same core players for years with exception of Ullmark, who is unproven in the playoffs. Swayman played good this game though. So the team going from around 100 pts per year to a record setting 135 was way out of logical prediction.

Terrible defensive play on the OT goal. You had I think 4 Bruins all crowding Swayman within 5 ft of him. That left Panther guys open, and Verhaeghe was the guy open to do a 10-15 ft. Even if Swayman made the save, somehow Tkachuk was in front of the goalie untouched so he could had whacked in a rebound anyway. The dmen all collapsed and didnt know what to do.

Side note: Colorado game 7 on now too. Another possible big upset.

Patrice Bergeron's face said it all when the game was over. I've seen happier faces at funerals.
This was his last game ever maybe?

Kraken up by 2! I was in Denver last year when the Avalanche won the cup. They were in Tampa and the idiots still lit the city in on fire. My hotel was in lockdown.

Wow. Avs done too.

- Avs done (champs)
- Boston done (best record)
- TB done (2020, 2021 champs, and runner up 2022)
- Leafs made it to second round after 19 years
- Seattle and Florida to second round. Maybe NJ too

This has got to be the most wacky and different playoffs in recent times.

Watch out for Seattle. If Grubauer can stay consistent (he was awesome tonight), in the two years they've been in the league the team is league leaders in shots against (best in 2022, second best this year). They got a solid defence corps, but some shaky goaltending.

Yep, lots of messed up brackets this year

What a godly weekend.

Leafs FINALLY advance.
Bruins with one of the worst choke jobs in NHL history.

The biggest obstacles as a Leaf fan in this division were always Tampa and Boston. And now they are both out.
Its wide open.

Bruins already got that covered.

No team will ever be a bigger chokefest than the Bruins being up 3 games to 0 against the Flyers 10 years ago. Lost 3 games, then up 3-0 in game 7, and lost 4-3.

Leafs have a golden opportunity to win it. I cant see Florida continuing this. And whether they play NJ/NYR or Carolina, both teams are totally beatable. Carolina had trouble with the Isles relying on OT goals and NJ is hit and miss against the Rags and vice versa. Their biggest obstacle is probably facing well balanced Vegas or an Oilers team if Skinner keeps playing hot.

This got a hearty chuckle out of me as a fan of the show lol

I can see Conner in my head dealing with that. Fucking hell.

When the bruins lost to the Blackhawks in the cup 10 years ago I straight up broke the tv remote in half over my knee. My wife acting like I killed a kitten whereas I was angry about the game and then quickly impressed by what I did

Considering my round one predictions were total dogshit, I wouldnt trust my picks either, but here goes.

Tor
NJ
Dallas
Vegas
Vegas only neat EDM on once in overtime this yeah so that might be a tough one.

Toronto would be my bet too. I’m going Seattle over Dallas cause I hate the Stars. Canes and NJ could be an awesome series. Those are well matched teams

The Panthers-Leafs game is the fastest game I’ve seen, it’s just non-stop.

Both these guys just zip.

Pavelski with four goals so far heading into OT. Don’t think I have ever seen that. I think I remember 3 in a game recently, could be wrong.

Crazy. I have the game on the background as I surf the net past bunch of hours. At 4-4, I checked the boxscore and didn't realize he has all 4! The guy is a machine. Solid consistent production his whole career and he's almost 40 years old.

On another note.... fucking Leafs. Beat TB and then a Panthers let down.

I think the Stars are winless in OT games I have watched ever since the Hull cup winner. From now on if they go to OT I am just turning the TV off.

Game one to my Golden Knights! 😀
Edmonton is the most predictable team for years. They can score, but can they keep the puck out of their own net? They scored 4, but let in 6 (to be fair it was 5 + an empty netter).

If the Oilers can ever trade for or draft a top 10 goalie they will win cups. But they havent focused on a solid goalie since Grant Fuhr/Andy Moog tandem keeping them in games while the skaters scored 5, 6 or 9 goals per game.

It's crazy. Since those 80s heydays, I'd say their best goalie for a stretch of time is Tommy Salo who was a mid range goalie from a trade. All they do is focus their draft picks for forwards 95% of the time.

That was a terrible game for the oil. They did the same move over and over. McDavud has been a shadow of his regular season self

Cujo was their best goal too

Do I bet with my heart and take Leafs? Or bet with my brain and take Florida?

Tkachuk is manhandling everyone.
