Alright, good enough. I wonder why it wouldn't have triggered. That same site made it read as you get a message automatically after completing a main quest piece.
Ahh so it's that sword. Yes it's locked on that route.
There's a chapter select later on so no worries. I had trouble triggering that quest myself when I went back though after I missed it as well. I thibk what triggered it for me was just using 2B on any chapter after the first encounter with adam and eve. I triggered it while staying in the resistance camp.
I was watching some NieR vids like I always do and I came upon a certain video about 2B and 9S. The comment section is mind blowing as well as the vids. There's a lot of hidden things that I didn't know like
A2's personality is based on a girl that lived with her grandmother. Aka kaine. There's also details about how 9S knew about the E-types before and even tried to attack 2B right after meeting her due to his instinct but was killed instead. Also there's a certain chance of triggering a dialogue after choosing to stay in ending D where 9S looks up in the sky and says "2B, so that's where you are" as well as some backstory to commander and jackass' relationship.
There were some novellas that added a little more to the story. When the complete strategy guide is released on the 28th there will be more novellas included. I'll take all the story I can get.
Yeah, feel free to do the opening mission on easy until you fully move past it and save. You can adjust the difficulty whenever you want. It's a pain.
I think the first mission is quite good once you're done with the opening shoot em up segments. But I feel like the main core of the game is following it's crazy story and traveling around the world doing side quests with fantastic stories and world building. As I've mentioned before, I feel like you get into a zen traveling around the open world, picking off packs of enemies as you work on side quests.
Timeaisis's complaints about dying during the first mission made me realize an important bit of foreshadowing during the prologue.
Super serious spoilers:
If you die during the prologue, you get ending W which says "The YoRHa force was annihilated.. And Earth went on to become a paradise for the machines." Note how it doesn't mention humans or the aliens. If they were alive then the ending would say "Earth went on to become a paradise for the Aliens." instead.
I'm listening to the Japanese version of "Weight of the World" on the OST. Am I hearing things, or did Marina Kowano actually break down and start crying near the end of the song? It kind of got me all ;_;.

What a shitty way to start your game. Played for 30 minutes. Died. Back to the beggining. That's fucking nice. Save file says 35 minutes. It's like it's there just mocking me. Look, you wasted 35 minutes of your life. lol

Hey, look on the Brightside. More time to spend playing this game!
What difficulty are you playing on? Hard can be pretty brutal, especially just starting out. It might be better to dial it back to Normal, at least until you clear the first area and can save, then move it back up to Hard when you feel more comfortable. If you're already on Normal then not much I can tell you.
Just try to get used to dodging, it's insanely over-powered in this game. I know you're mad right now, but trust me. You want to continue playing. It's amazing.

I died at the end of the prologue as well and it's already me playing on normal. But once I played for the second time, it felt like a breeze because I was still coming to grips on the controls on the first time with it not having tutorials and all.

Well, having paid full price i've no other option but to keep playing.
I'm playing on normal. Was doing fine until the dual saw thing.
Oh well. I'm off to bed.
Okay, so I got ending A - I don't think I was expecting it to go quite so fast. Is route B like the first game in terms of allowing you to go back and do sidequests from
before the carrier mission
?
Overall, I'm definitely on board with what the game's doing and can't wait to see the rest, but found
Adam and Eve
to be conspicuous weak links so far, with the exception of their introduction scene. With a cast that's otherwise so endearing and full of personality - especially
the machines
; not quite so much for 2B given her status as a viewpoint character - they didn't manage to rise above mediocre cliched villain archetypes; actively bringing down what were otherwise fun fights with great presentation (the
Copied City
is the most striking thing in the game I've seen to this point, the
Senator Armstrong-meets-Uroboros Wesker in blackface
battle was suitably climactic) with flat, uninteresting takes on stock characters. The Shadowlord, Devola and Popola all brought an incredible amount of pathos to their situations, but

didn't land at all.
In the absence of other information, I'm assuming she ends up with 2B.
Just finished ending B. Heard what goes down in C/D so I'm bracing myself...
Any places still selling the physical soundtrack with the Hacking Tracks? CDJapan's backordered and doesn't have the bonus disc. Amazon JP's only showing third party sellers. (
Same impressions for me after 2 hours. I did like one of the later boss fights but the world is very stiff and lifeless so far. Still, the combat is pretty good and the music is also nice most of the times.
I did the Lost Girl sidequest on route A but now on route B it doesn't appear as completed and I have to do it again from scratch.
Was there anything else I had to do after
escorting her out of the desert? I even got the pink ribbon as a reward.

and hooollllyyyy shit. You lot weren't wrong with the hype. The
virus sequence against other YoRHa units where the visuals degrade to the point of the hacking looking like a GameBoy game blew my mind
. I managed to survive long enough afterwards to get Ending
P
which was a struggle - I didn't know there'd be an ending for doing that but just felt like it was built for it haha. This came off the back of unfortunately having the whole
'the humans are dead' thing
spoilt in another thread, but I had my suspicions anyhow.
Don't get me wrong, I've really enjoyed the game up to this point and it's certainly had points that have really hit me in the feels but this section combined with the extended
hacking sequences
towards the end of Route
B (the conversation with Adam (lewd), factory escape with the Project Gestalt files, Bunker server where the truth starts to come out...)
is almost the first time it's given me the same sense of wonder/amazement as the first Nier. If I'm honest, before it felt like I was playing a really, really good game that I wanted to like more than normal because it's Yoko Taro and how long the wait has been...but it's definitely surpassed that now.
The reveal of the
Amusement Park in Route A
is up there as an emotional moment. The little cut-scene after the
Flooded City boss battle about the machine being left in the ocean comes close
, but I can't even separate a part out of the beginning of Route
C
, it's exceptional. What a fucking game.
It literally feels like the game has just started. It makes me bummed out for those (particularly reviewers) who dropped out before this point.
None of this is anything most people in the thread doesn't already know but I only got through this sequence last night and just bursting to talk about it.
Wow what an awesome journey it was and on top of that
it ends well !
I thought the plot would get more complicated than that but in the end, you get pretty much all your answers to everything .
Also I liked the (E ending spoiler)
credits shmup at the end lol
I completed about 66% of the side quest and got 60ish % of the weapons .
The cool thing is I can get back into it anytime with the
Slowly coming back after being busy with Dark Souls 3. Yesterday I reached the final dungeon of Route B.
I'm SO HAPPY that (route B late part big spoilers and, I guess Nier 1 too)
humans are dead. Thanks god no retcon!
Not sure what to think about Androids forming Yorha after that. I mean, in one side I understand androids showed feelings (Popola and Devola do so in Nier 1) but on the other side I dunno if they should be able to form new organizations, considering how limited they were on do just the things they were programmed for. Hell, they can't even learn any other song other than Song of the Acients.
Still I guess I don't know everything yet
I also did (character spoiler)
Emil
flower quest. I was not ready for that.... One of the things that makes you glad to have played Nier 1 too.
