Oh, wow, that's SIGNIFICANTLY easier than Sigma 2's. Hell, Sigma +'s as well.

Though I think that "Mastered the Path of the Master Ninja" is a continuation of Sigma+'s "Master Ninja rank all missions on Master Ninja difficulty" which is a pain in the ass with that forced Gyro bow controls.

Personally, I felt that the karma system in Σ Plus made getting the trophy pretty easy (with the first level as an exception), since spamming UTs and chaining them into encounters all but guaranteed a Master Ninja rank.

Well, obviously you want to complete the level quickly without using ninpo. Chaining UTs helps with both while gaining karma that you can fall back on if you make a mistake.
Completing ambushes almost guarantees a Master Ninja Rank as well.

It seems that there has been a huge mess with the DLC codes - they are either invalid or no one has received them at all.

Some guy on GameFAQS said that they were never shipped by the manufacturer.

I never got a DLC code.

Tecmo dropped the ball on this one...

So I just opened the game and NO DLC code anywhere to be found, including the receipt.

Same thing happened to someone over on GameFAQS as well.

Wonder if Team Ninja Dog fucked up with this....

Same here as well. Manager couldn't find anything on it and I contacted CS just now. Fucking fucked up. Any mention of the DLC is gone from the website.

So I'm up to chap 3 - the image IQ is nowhere near the polish of NGS+.

Combat really slows down when there is 6+ enemies on screen - I'm really wondering how they do the staircase.

Chap Challenge unlock as you go as well a the level for Ninja Race and Tag Missions.

The image someone posted above with the really blurred graphics happens - it's like the game resets the graphics after a UT.

There is NO forced gyro aiming with the bow - the toggle works pretty well as it automatically locks on.

Mentor is unlocked from the get go.

I've only played the main game ATM - I wanna plow through it first before tackling the races/challenges.

It's like a slide show. Felt completely unplayable to me.

Don't know if there's a patch that addresses this or not, since I won't have a wi-fi connection to check for updates until I get home in an hour or so.

Yeah I was having fun outside the framerate issues. It looked pretty, had some nice effects, but it just wasn't designed to be played.

Ehhh, glad I held out until hearing some impressions. Was planning on buying this when it hits PSN, but I think I'm just going to avoid it. Disappointing because I have Sigma + on Vita, Razor's Edge on Wii U, and was looking forward to completing the trilogy.

It has everything to do with it. Hayashit's been in charge of the Ninja Gaiden ports. Team DOA's head (forgetting his name) has been in charge of DOA and is in charge of the portable port.

One couldn't even port an X-box game (because he wanted to use HIS port of said X-box game) and achieve 60FPS easily, to where he had 30FPS in an X-box game. Then couldn't port his second port (that granted, fixed the original version on anything above Normal/Warrior).

The other is porting with a Sony-made "PS3 downgrade" feature and has stated that the game is going to be 60FPS come hell or highwater.

So yeah... Team DOA > Team Ninja Dog it seems.

Buuuuuut...NGS+ was great. NGS+ is not a port of an xbox game. It's a port of the ps3 game which is running on the same engine as NGS2.

So you go ahead and believe what you want. For me, Team Ninja is 1 for 2. Definitely not going to purchase DoA5 blind.

Its far from a perfect port but it does the job. Boss fights are perfect so far as well. Haven't played the tag missions yet though and those could be bad since they are basically huge fights with two characters.

I'll just add that I'll happily eat crow if DOA5+ is just as bad as a port as this, but I have no reason to believe (from DOA5 treatment/team) that that'll be as bad a port as Sigma 1/2+.

Just played my first tag mission (gore off) not nearly as bad as I expected. Only one noticeable area of frame rate drop. The res was all over the place though.
