Nintendo : buy Mario Kart 8 on the eShop or retail, get a free game

So how does this work? I entered the code and when I log in now it tells me to claim the game of my choice, I click pikmin, it gets me on a page where I can "order" it, then when I click that it says it's already been claimed, but I never got a code or confirmation page or anything... anyone else in this situation?

might be a problem of the CN page, it has been acting up the whole day

Yeah... looks like it's messed up. I tried re-entering the pin but it says it's already been redeemed... yet I didn't get my coins either :(

Yep, problems here too.

I actually got logged in, and then it didn't remember that I was already platinum for the year. THAT has me concerned. I'm sure it's just because the site is fucked up right now, though.

I can't even log in. Anyone else having that problem? at first it says I have the wrong user name or password and I'm positive I have the correct stuff there.

You can download the games between 2014/08/01 and 2014/10/31, so there are 2 months left before we can do anything else.

Hey gaf. Those of you buying digital copies of MK8. Until what date does club Nintendo let you registwr your game by (the survey) after you buy the game.

After trying to break through the slow service for 30 minutes, I finally got my Zelda download code! Working on downloading now.

I have 3D World in the Wii U as a disc, and MK8 and NSMBU as my two digital games, with 5 Mario digital games (SMB, Lost Levels, SMB2, SMB3, SMW) next to them from the VC. My Wii U is a literal Mario machine.

Having played two hours of NSMBU earlier, what a terrible fucking decision this was in restrospect.

Fucking 'new' series. It's so bloody mediocre.

Huh, I thought it was the best of the New series, or at least the Wii's equal. Maybe that's not saying much, but I thought it was great.

Today it happend - i bought a wii u. Despite hating the low power approach Nintendo is still running with i just couldn`t resist DKCTF and MK8.

So after some time and my attempt to get the free game (i want Pikmin 3), my lasting impression on the wii u is: No fucking LAN port!

I can`t believe it - The wii u doesn`t have a LAN port! To get online i have to buy a adapter now. Great.

I second this! Why in the world does the Wii U not have a LAN port?! It has 4 USB ports but not one LAN port?! I understand that none of Nintendo Console has a built in LAN port, but come on, in this day and age?! I have all my consoles wired except for the Wii U...

And I picked up Wind Waker through the promotion and made a case for it (yes, I'm one of those people that needs to have a case for every games purchased that's available in disc/retail format).

I would say that in this day and age it actually makes more sense to skip the LAN port (if you're a company looking to save money). Wi-Fi is pretty common.

But yeah, it's also true that not everyone has a Wi-Fi router.

Oh, it's better than NSMB Wii, that's for sure. Tons better. But I thought that was a bad game. Absolutely hated it. It's been a slow climb from horrible (the first one) to mediocre (U). But that's enough derailing - I've a race starting!

Though it was obvious, I can confirm that I received Nintendo Network Premium points for my free game download. I know a few people were thinking they'd rig it so you couldn't, but they didn't, at least in Europe

Will wait until it's fixed. Don't want to lose my code over some error and than having to call Nintendo Customer Service only to get a "sorry, can't help you" answer!

Well, Mario Kart promo broke Club Nintendo... awesome.
Ahh well, not like they can take this away from me now. I'll wait it out.

Earlier around 2PM EST I managed to put the the code, get the free download code and download the game.

However there were some errors and the Mario Kart Survey appeared again, and while I still had my current number of coins they were not showing and my status was reverted (I reached platinum long ago)

Should I be worried?

Bought mario kart 8 in store.. entered the pin on the nintendo site, grabbed pikmin 3, downloaded it and started "checking it out".

ended up playing it so hard, i havent even inserted the mario kart 8 disc yet ;c

Grabbed NSMBU and traded in my disc copy for some Microsoft account credit.

Worked out great. Grabbed some Killer Instinct retro costumes. Loving going 50/50 digital this gen so far.
