so how does this work. you register the game and you automatically get the game on your club nintendo account or do you get a promo code?
edit: I just realized you get a separate download promo code you can use on any wiiu console.

So I bought MK yesterday morning on the eShop, and today I logged into Club Nintendo. I see the 'choose your free game' option on my to-do list, but when I click on it, nothing happens. Hovering over it shows the following link in my status bar:

I will get my retail copy of MK8 on monday (already downloaded it and got Zelda for free), then I will register it with a second Club Nintendo account and try to download the game with my (only) NNID account.
Will try NSMBU or Sonic, which should I get?
Already have all the other games that interest me (Pikmin, W101,...)

wow, with the barebones eshop content I didn't think I'd ever reach my first 5 code - thanks, MK.
The Donkey Kong one and some of the later Metroid Blast stages are pretty brutal, yeah. It's an awesome game though so have fun! Definitely try the Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, and Mario Chase ones with friends.

The octopus dance is very difficult! Just got a gold medal, but i dont think i can ever beat the extra level they said it got open
Fzero is also hard when it hits the last section. But easier than octopus
Donkey Kong is lovely, but i JUST CANT beat the last section of the map! One year trying!
Yoshi cart is pretty easy!

I'm really unsure as to what game to get.
The only games I don't have on the list are:
Game & Wario
Sonic Lost World
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Wii Party U
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
I'll mostly be playing single player, so I'm not sure.
I didn't really like Sonic much when I played it, and I'm not entirely sure Monster Hunter would get much play out of me, but I'm tempted.

You can at least single out G&W Mario&Sonic and Wii party because they are really MP oriented games and not very fun in SP. So it is between Sonic and MH for you
If you want replay value then vote goes to MH if it gets you you are going to sink 100s of hours into it. Sonic should be completed very fast.How long do I have to put in my code?

So WB is having this big 75% sale on batman games in the eShop. I can pick only one between arkham origins, arkham city and Injustice.
I've always been a great fighter fan (already have tekken on WiiU) but since I'm getting older and older, no more party games at home with friends.
Is the netcode for injustice good? Are there enough players online?
And between the 2 arkham games, which one would you recommend? (I played like 4/5 hours of arkham city on ps3 but never finished the game, and I liked it).
Please advise and help me decide!!

For the US at least you must claim your free game (meaning register your copy of Mario Kart 8 at the Club Nintendo site and then pick your free game) by 8/30. That code will then expire after 9/29.
Ok, so what you do is get a Mario Kart 8 Club Nintendo Pin Code. This is the code you get when you buy Mario Kart 8. You go to club nintendo and use this registration code to register your copy of Mario Kart 8. When you do this, at the end of the survey, you'll get the 70 coins for registering MK8, and you'll be given a choice of one of the free games.
When you pick your game, you'll go through a couple of confirmation screens, and then you'll get an eshop code for that specific game that you chose. This eshop code simply needs to be entered on the eshop, and it is valid toward a digital copy of whichever game you chose. You could choose to sell or gift this code to anyone with a Wii U, and they can enter it and use it to get a digital copy of the specific game you chose.
I'm after fucking this up. I login to the UK club site, see mario kart has already added itself, but need to do the survey. I do the survey and then nothing. I check online and they say that I need to have registered my Wii U first. I've seen it in the list of devices linked to the account, but I never did the stupid survey for it.

You do incredible pixel art and I do vaguely acceptable Miiverse pictures, so that kind of makes us friends.

Do you have Rayman Legends, Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong, or any previous NSMB game? If you do, then you will probably be better off experiencing Wind Waker for the first time.
If you like platformers more, but like them in their boxes, and would otherwise not try Zelda WW... i'd say get Zelda. It might very well surprise you, because it's a delightful game.

I paid 59.99 and I get super mario kart, MK8 and Zelda WWHD. Add to that 10 back and you end up with 2 full games and a VC game for 49.99. Now I need to spend those 10...
No. You can't do that. The codes are region-locked.

I did and although Mario Kart showed straight away the free game offer only came up when I entered the registration code I got at checkout - in your purchase history
I was VERY impressed with how this seamlessly worked considering Nintendo's inexperience
I had bought Mario Kart, then did the first survey - went back and got code and filled in the second survey regarding how this promotion affected your purchase and then it asked my choice, selected game and straight through to get the download code for it
Had about 20 after that and Mario Kart had finished downloading
£5.49 Mario Kart SNES
£44.50 Mario Kart WiiU
£15 of credit from my Nintendo rewards made this £30.50
FREE Sonic Winter Olympics (only game on the list I didn't own)

Several people have found they have had to also register the PIN that was on the eShop receipt for the promotion banner to show up.
Given how Euro digital codes don't work on the Australian eShop I've say they use a differ cypher.
If they did it them gets down the problem of them redeeming the European version of the games which don't exist on the US eShop.
