Rich from IGN has been tweeting about it. Apparently it's just a standard 3DS event to get hands-on for some upcoming games. He was not really expecting anything new to be there, but then again he's just guessing.

I wanted to know what people were willing to pay for New Super Luigi U? I don't necessarily think it'll be priced higher, but $20 seems likely, assuming it's as extensive as we're thinking.

I just beat New Super Mario Bros U not too long ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I'm pretty excited for New Super Luigi U, regardless of how much it'll cost, but I was curious as to what people would be willing to pay for it.

they said the game would be playable at E3, so yea it was a mini-reveal "please wait till E3 for more" kind of thing. they didn't make it sound like you could expect any more between then and E3. they could be desperate for a little bit of buzz and might show off a concept or an image to get a bit of press though.
