Nintendo Direct Luigi special 2 2013.4.17 - 11 pm Japan Time (3 pm GMT, 10 am EDT)

I have class from 9-9:50 AM, so I think I can sprint over to the location of my 11-11:50 AM class and bask in the glory of the Direct.

Oh God, I didn't realize how much I needed these things. One month without and I'm experiencing symptoms of withdrawal.

this is weird. we are doing the exact same thing...

i have a class at 9...

and im going over to the building of my 11 o'clock class to watch the direct...

Hype overload! x3

We don't need no tracks!

There is?
What are the deets?

Rich from IGN has been tweeting about it. Apparently it's just a standard 3DS event to get hands-on for some upcoming games. He was not really expecting anything new to be there, but then again he's just guessing.

The Japanese site ( http://www.nintendo.co.jp/nintendo_direct/sp/index.html ) is actually quite precise about what to expect:
NEW information about 3DS titles from Nintendo
FURTHER information about Wii U titles from Nintendo
Details about the Wii U system-update.

So I wouldn't expect any new Wii U titles announced.

I'm still trying to understand if this implies that new 3DS titles are going to be announced. Or if it's just fancy wordplay.

-Donkey Kong Returns 3D & Mario VS Donkey Kong release date
-New info/release date for Mario & Luigi 4 & Mario Golf
-Wii U update details/potential VC details
-Luigi's Mansion 1 as a launch title for Wii U VC
-Shout out to Tomodachi Collection's release tomorrow
-Reminder of Pokemon Rumble U/explanation of the NFC figures
-Pikmin 3/TW101 dates
-New Super Luigi DLC preview
-Green Luigi 3DS XL
-Brand new 3DS Zelda, Majora's Mask sequel
-First footage of Mario Kart
-Hint at Retro's game
-Mother 4 from HAL Labs for Wii U
-Shibata is real

Going in with modest expectations then? :p

More "keep waiting, here's another video of the same Wii U games we've said were coming for a fucking year now. Enjoy!"

It is determined by the Gods, we are ND-watching soulmates. Bound by fate to have similar schedules.

You could say we have a...

direct connection.

"Further information" could be just as exciting as new announcements if it's more information about games we barely know anything about. Like I'd rather hear some more about X or 3D Mario then suffer through Wii Music U or whatever.

Further information:

* 3D Mario U name reveal + first screens reveal

* Mario Kart U name reveal + first screens reveal

BELIEVE.

DLC for NSMBU, 80 new courses, single player, Luigi only.

single-player? never noticed that one before. not sure if more hyped or less. i've wondered if gameplay would be different if they weren't balancing for 4-5 players.

it'd be weird if they showed off that much today. i'd expect more of Yoshi Yarn or something.

I...I just can't turn off the hype! It's bursting from every orifice at the speed of light.

There's no way they'll blow their E3 wad this early...at most there will be one big announcement, or maybe a trailer for a game we know about but haven't seen, such as Bayonetta 2.

Totally excited for new 3DS news. Hoping for a few more titles from Japan (Space Harrier 3D please!)

Also hoping that Nintendo can make me want a Wii U.

Considering that New Super Luigi U is going to be a sort of "revamp" of the existing 80+ levels in New Super Mario Bros. U, I'm expecting the DLC to be priced at around $20. I wanted to know what people were willing to pay for New Super Luigi U? I don't necessarily think it'll be priced higher, but $20 seems likely, assuming it's as extensive as we're thinking.

I just beat New Super Mario Bros U not too long ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I'm pretty excited for New Super Luigi U, regardless of how much it'll cost, but I was curious as to what people would be willing to pay for it.

I'll purchase it at a high price.

I'll buy it regardless of price, but I really don't want them to go above $40. I mean, unless those new assets are really something special.

Didn't they state months ago that their reveals are for E3? I know Mario U was.

they said the game would be playable at E3, so yea it was a mini-reveal "please wait till E3 for more" kind of thing. they didn't make it sound like you could expect any more between then and E3. they could be desperate for a little bit of buzz and might show off a concept or an image to get a bit of press though.

Wait, I'm confused....so NA and Europe are getting 3DS focused Direct, while Japan, at the same time, is getting a non-3DS Luigi one?
