Raw perf seems pretty bad, but i am never going to have to upgrade the CPU thanks to multiple frame gen... Destroy amd/intel CPU sales with a GPU, brilliant.

Ive joined a bit late, have theyve shown reflex 2 frame warp and Nvenc yet?

No to either but the nvidia website claims that the 50-Series has a new NVENC 9th Gen and NVDEC in 6th Gen with AV1 encode and decode.
5090 has 3x ENC and 2x DEC
5080 has 2x ENC and 2x DEC
5070ti has 2x ENC and 1x DEC
5070 has 1x ENC and 1x DEC

I appreciate that existing RTX cards will get all the DLSS4 improvements except for multi-frame gen. Really curious about the performance improvements to existing frame gen! Hopefully they’re significant.

Asus Astral 5xxxx....

If it ends up around 2500€ I'll so try to get an LC version.
I feel like current Mainboard + GPU configurations aren't good anymore for the heat that GPUs generate inside a PC case and fling towards the CPU.

Almost got me.

Skipping the generation easy work. (4080 owner).
Im not sure the 5080 will even be able to take down the 4090 let alone the 5070 matching a 4090.

DLSS 3.5 looks bad so if DLSS4 looks better then it will have that edge too.

RTX40 support DLSS4.
RTX40 dont support Multi Frame Generation though.
The RTX50 achieve high FPS by generating "fake" frames, in terms of raw performance its probably whats to be expected gen on gen maybe even less, FG and MFG being used in slides with the fine print being the only way to see thats its MFG getting those performance numbers is borderline.
Games need to support DLSS MFG for you to get those high framerates, if the game doesnt support MFG then the gen on gen upgrade isnt so compelling.
Time will tell how wide spread the support for MFG will be.

The robot chef arms cooking a meal is kinda alarming. If robots easily can do skilled labor humanity is fucked. Everything in these tech press conferences always feels 20+ years away and then suddenly they exist.

The scariest bit was that AI will be controlling workplace scenarios. So, literally AI fully ordering human beings around - the few that are still required on the factory or shop floor.

I feel like I need to go back to school after watching this conference. I'm starting to feel like my grandma fighting the TV remote.

The lack of clapping sometimes made me chuckle a bit. People seemed uncomfortable that their jobs might be going away.

I have a feeling the tech industry is trying to outpace regulation. If it already exists, and functioning, it's harder to regulate. I don't like regulation, but this is obviously going to happen. I'm invested in it, hopefully by the time I want to retire, I won't have to deal with the end of humanity

unrelated facts, whataboutism/gaslighting.

Agreed. Seems way too good to be true. I expect numbers that have been heavily inflated by their AI stuff which probably boils down to more framegen.
Lmao gaslighting now? I didn’t say anything untrue to make others feel crazy. It was all facts.

Why wasnt RTX MegaGeo part of this presentation?
God damn that sounds like something they really should be shouting from the rooftops.

DLSS SuperResolution about to get even better...........

AMD is dead dead dead.

I wonder how much heat these things will put out.
Probably very little all things considered.

Holy shit, another hidden gem?

I hope every goddamn path tracing / RTGI games released in the past years update to RTX Mega Geometry

OK, huge huge megabombs dropped

They are using their NRC's path tracing tech ! Neural Radiance Cache!! I posted many times on Neogaf that they would go with that soon, the papers were there!

RTX Mega Geometry

RTX Mega Geometry rebuilds geometric data structures used for path tracing in real-time, delivering up to 100 times more ray trace triangles per frame

Looking to upgrade my CPU, motherboard (need a PCIe 5.0 board) and a 5090. Oof. Jensen you rascal, you.

Looks like DLSS 4 alone is largely why the FPS boost is mostly 2x in examples given. Just generating 2x the pixels with AI. Instead of 7 out of 8 pixels being AI generated, it's 15 out of 16.

GN are going to call on those charts so hard, when they’ll compare DLSS 4 vs DLSS 4, not versus the previous model. Anyways:

This is realistically the only two metrics we need to look at.
The DLSS 3 vs DLSS 4 comparisons are misleading.

Its an expected gen on gen uplift, not worth the upgrade for me, so skipping the generation.
But all the nice things coming to RTX cards are more than welcome.

looks like we don't have jobs anymore now with all that AI...

geforce gpus wont have jobs either,

seems nvidia is going all in with AI training offsite and then dlss the data into your rtx5000 and let its tensor cores ‘decode’ the graphics

Ngl, this is terrible. Like it's looking like 30% real gains across the board. This frame-gen tomfoolery is there to obfuscate the numbers. Considering that the notes suggest that the games are rendered at 4k max settings, it's pretty bad. Performance gains look to be worse than ada maybe barring the low end, wild.

This maybe hyperbolic on my part but anytime a company's stock appreciates this much and employees can cash out on their RSUs, the company starts a slow decline in innovation. I suspected that it might happen with Nvidia and this lacklustre release only confirms it for me. These guys are about to enter a coasting phase.
