Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Yo got that Darksiders 2 on sale and have a question.

I just started and I beat the intro level in the ice. Then I got to the next area where they are trying to explain the leveling system. Now I get the system with the points, but I'm confused about my ability I gained.

Can I hot key it to the dpad or do I have to bring up the sub menu and tap the icon on the gamepad? I see I can move the little icon for the special ability around, but I'm confused on if I can hotkey it or do a buttom combo instead??

See said ability on the left that I'd like to hotkey.

Man December went by so fast. I felt like I just subscribed to that one. Can't wait to see what pops up this month.

Also RIP DDP ;(

Happy New Year, all.

Still looking forward to that update for ZaciSa's Last Stand and the GAF level. Gunman Clive 2 should be dropping this month as well, looking forward to that too.

Happy New Year's Eve, NintenGAF! Any gaming plans for tonight?

Maybe some Smash Bros.

Wow. Do not buy Duck Tales. Started playing this. Forces you to use the gamepad. All that is does is mirror the TV. I have to press Start to see a map. Wtf?

Need DAT Zero Mission yesterday.

Also I wish Nintendo would announce some more downloadable 1st party titles for both the Wii U and 3ds.

PS: Go Jackets whoop that ass tonight!

I feel like Zero Mission will be pretty soon. Nintendo have been really loving GBA lately on Wii U.

I can taste it already.

I have about 34 points hanging about in the ether after buying Duck Hunt earlier today. If they don't pop up in my before midnight, am I fucked?!

Prediction for tomorrow:

We get some awesome games.
However, instead of enjoying the games, people spend their time complaining they came after the end of the DDP.

Funny enough, I use the Gamepad moreso than the TV.

I haven't even had my Wii U hooked up to a television for most of the time that I've had it.

I've played it, a year ago now, and I can't even help you. I'm not great with these sorts of games so I was never entirely clued up either. But I thought you could do with the bump in case someone else can answer.

Wii U | Virtual Console

Chariot will be $14.99 in the US and releases January 8th, according to the eShop. Also, Wipeout 3 will be released digitally for $39.99 then too. But don't get excited when you hear the word "Wipeout," it's some obstacle course game. It might have been a launch title even, but Activision is slowly releasing their stuff to the eShop now. Hopefully CoD will eventually come, I'd prefer a digital version.

I already know we're getting an awesome game tomorrow (Pokémon Pinball), but I've already complained about it earlier so

If you're in the US like me, it's just Pokemon Pinball. Zero indies. Kinda lame, but I do know people love thei Pokemon so even though it doesn't appeal to me, many should be happy.

Maybe we'll get some awesome sales, which would suck because it's the end of DDP, but would still be cool because sales are sales. Kind of sad we didn't get the Ubi promo Europe had but I'm being a broken record about that.

I cannot endorse this post. It's a legit complaint that they didn't add Pro Controller support but it's a legitimately great remake of a great game and well worth playing.

Happy new year all!

Looks like Tetris has been removed from the VC section, but is still available if you search for it. Last call!

I hope everybody here has a great 2015, even the complainers :p

How is VVVVVVV? More tempted now that it's part of the Nicalis sale. Might get Ikachan too which I hear is short but very enjoyable.

[NOTE] The Deluxe Digital Promotion will be discontinued on April 1, 2015. Please exchange your points for an activation code by March 31, 2015. Activation codes must be redeemed in the Nintendo eShop by June 30, 2015.

Yeah, that's how it was always supposed to be. December 31st was the deadline for having your purchases accumulate points that could be exchanged for codes. The period for exchanging your points for codes doesn't actually end until March 31st, and the codes themselves are only good until June 30th. So basically there are three different deadlines, but the main one of interest -- that is, stocking up on points by buying stuff on the Wii U eShop -- is officially over.

Sadly it's over, man.

Hopefully they'll recognize the popularity of the program and replace it with something similar, perhaps even including Basic owners and 3DS'ers in the mix. Doubtful but you never know. Seems like it wouldn't hurt their bottom line too much since digital purchases are much more profitable for them than retail discs, and indie developers must love the opportunity of casual customers with digitial cash-in-hand when they visit the eShop.

One of my favourite games. I've quad-dipped on VVVVVV at this point. I dare you to beat Veni Vidi Vici. You'll know it, when you get there.
