Internet sticker for you good sir. So good.
Aww, I wish that was a thing, or E3 stickers. I'm not sure how it would work, but it just sounds fun.

Zelda stuff
I'm sure Stan Lee does very little at Marvel, yet he is the most famous name associated with that company. Miyamoto is regarded like that, I was looking at the MK8 and seeing Iwata and Miyamoto credited was funny so yes these credits have become meaningless
I agree, it's just me being hopeful that he does return to give us something amazing. Perhaps also a bit of confusion on my part as well because I remember reading articles a while ago that said he's very much involved in a new IP, and even one article that said he'll direct the next Zelda, though role of Producer would probably make more sense these days than anything else. His name is also very recognisable and synonymous with hype - another reason why I put it in there XD.

man hope this is gameplay and not a cutscene
i think the problem with the zelda franchise is that they don't take time for iteration. ever since ocarina of time, and except for twilight princess, it's been about reinventing the series or going out of the comfort zone for each one. majora's mask was basically made using oot leftovers, but presented itself in a hugely different way. the wind waker was cosmetically different than anything that had come before, and its open-world traversal came at the expense of pacing. twilight princess was the first honest-to-god attempt at making oot 2 and was largely successful. skyward sword then tried to be super mario galaxy in zelda form, turning the surface world into big dungeons so you can dungeon before you dungeon, but neglected to do anything about the overworld (sky).
then there's the games that relied on different control methods- both the ds titles and skyward sword, as a proof of concept of their systems' hardware. i think it's telling that the most traditional zelda of recent years was the one that received the highest praises. i don't think there's as much a split on a link between worlds as skyward sword, for instance.
no, what i would like to see is any one of the previous concepts, but executed with even more polish. hell, i'd love twilight princess 2/ocarina of time 3 where it's pretty much exactly that style of game but more fleshed out (open world, bosses on the overworld as aonuma wanted, maybe some cool new ways at dimension-hopping, gibberish voice acting, orchestration, etc). right now it sounds like they're experimenting again but with multiplayer and new visual styles and while it's great that they're exploring new avenues, i don't think it's what's needed most in the series.
I guess on top of what I said earlier, Zelda used to be one of the flagship franchises of gaming. I think a lot of people saw Skyward Sword and thought they could skip it, which was never the case with a new Zelda game before.

Dat hair movin!
I've never seen that but it's almost exactly how I used to imagine it lolWhy did I think this looked so awesome as a kid? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcvdT2C31oc
Zelda has taken inspiration before , Twilight Princess was inspired by Lord of the Rings and Skyward Sword had that loftwing to rider connection kinda like Avatar. Now as much as I would like it to happen Game of thrones is a little to dark and gritty for Zelda, though they could bring the whole diversity of cultures aspect to it, they can also take inspiration from the locales like Bravos or the magnificent Eyrie castle, the whole war between nations thing is a little too complicated for Zelda imoSo,
Just a brainstorm. Games have this knack of often trying to capture currents trends, crazy I know. With big budget games often sharing similar themes to big budget movies scheduled in the same quarter etc. Also extends to recent trends like selfies etc.
So by that amazing logic, the new Zelda will indeed have an influence to Game of Thrones.
Several kingdoms, conflict, diplomacy may be in the background of the next Zelda.
Sorry if already mentioned.
This happened to both Majora's Mask and Wind Waker, my friend. :/

Or just keep taking inspiration from Twin Peaks. Lol.
What?? Lol..never was Avatar an inspiration for Skyward Sword.
But I'm with you with LotR and TP.
Zelda shouldn't take inspiration from new series or movies...it should take some inspiration from old books like them from Brother Grimm. Dark and brutal but with heart.
I'm not saying flat out inspired by it but

Man I hope, that would be a great excuse to have not shown anything.
Either that or the Wii U's third party situation is so dire that FAST racing gets a centre position in the Digital Event.
It would sure be nice if it impressed Nintendo enough for that to happen. FAST showed promise, hopefully the new game builds on it well.
I don't see third parties returning any time soon sadly

Me too, but i really dont care. Its not like third parties are shining anywhere right now
Rockstar still are.
Well, thats your opinion
But when people begin to notice that they dont really like GTAV
Well, thats your opinion
But when people begin to notice that they dont really like GTAV (just like it happened 1 year after the GTA4 release), well, maybe this time they finally get to see there´s something wrong with the ultra hyped games they are buying
Except the ones that are still buddy-buddy with Nintendo, most of which are Japanese (sans, to an extent, Activision, Ubisoft, & WB Games).I don't see third parties returning any time soon sadly
The 3rd party support, AKA Triple A western games, won't come back until 21-34 year old white males who enjoy shooters come back to Nintendo.
The thing is that 3rd party support doesn't only consist of shooters. There's plenty of 3rd party games that have overlap with Nintendo audience but still don't come to Nintendo platforms. I'm not convinced that shooters are somehow fundamentally incapable of performing well on Nintendo platforms. Nintendo just needs to show the way here.
It has nothing to do with being good "buddies" with other publishers. It has everything to do with making sure your platform is a realistic choice to invest in.
Or even better, create content that resonates with the audience of said platform. The thing is that 3rd party support doesn't only consist of shooters. It’s weird to think about, but Nintendo may find itself pulling the plug on the system to stem the flow of losses and to try to focus on other ideas that could be more profitable. I’m not sure what else the company can do to attract customers and, without customers, developers won’t support the hardware and without developers, the customers won’t come … you begin to see how gaming consoles end up in a death spiral.
Let’s leave the question about what Nintendo could do to save its hardware for the time being and instead think about what the company owes customers who purchased a Wii U. If the system is discontinued, what happens to the core Nintendo fans who are now sitting on a Wii U that will no longer receive any games?
I'd say Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts have a good chance finding an audience on Nintendo systems. Can you list off any of these games that fit in Nintendo's ecosystem, but won't come to the WiiU? I'm not trying to jump on you haha, I'm just really curious.

But alas, "we don't make kids games" - EA guy
Slow news day, gotta write something random? So not even a week after Iwata firmly claims he will NOT kill the Wii U to not disappoint the fans who actually bought it, Polygon has this to say:
There's even a "console gaming is dead" proclaim stuck in there... after the PS4 and Xbox One sold 7 Million and 5 Million respectively.
From Koji Igarashi's facebook.
Anyone know what he's saying? 99.9% sure this is just him being excited about E3 as a gamer, but a decent translation would be nice.Let's see this get overblown and making headlines on news sites, speculating that the Symphony of the Night 2 rumour was true!

What if Nintendo gets so desperate that they take the Hyrule Warriors thing to the next level and let EA make the next Mario game?
Maybe it's what will we see on the gamepad when we will be in flying mode, wait what? Too much belief?

You know what'd be great? X turns out to enable local two-player mode where one person controls the Doll movement on the TV screen with a Pro controller while another one, with that POV on the gamepad, handles the shooting with gyro aiming.
