Nintendo has a YouTube playlist for the Game Awards

SMT X Fire Emblem, Nintendos Last Guardian....

Just stop please, I can't take it anymore, show me something
anything

It would be a good time to show Metroid, at whatever state it is in, it might just push some peoples to buy the console during the holidays with a gain of faith for 2015/2016.

I'm predicting that Nintendo announces the n3DS and maybe gives release dates for Splatoon and Xenoblade.

No new game announcements, a joke of a console announcement since the system is available in many territories, but maybe something interesting with actual dates.

Remember Fucking cranky Kong.

I'll be honest: I still think Cranky Kong's reveal was the second best thing coming from last year's VGX (No Man's Sky obvious first).

Now, this actually tells much more about how VGX sucked last year, but, hey, it's something!

Well yeah, but the poster was assuming Nintendo wouldn't do something silly just because of the show's target audience.

Since Reggie is on the board, I'm not surprised that NoA has made some push to actively support this. When an executive spends time on something, they generally quickly delegate action items down to the rest of the organization.

The question is, what will Iwata/Miyamoto think about using the event to announce new content? (I imagine that Keighley asked Reggie this exact question in some meeting/conference call)

My guess is that Nintendo is going to reinforce their holiday titles and likely showcase some incoming Amiibos.

"Captain Toad stars in his own game, and it's out on store shelves today!" <-- something like this

So what are we going to do when we figure out that this was just an extended Bayonetta 2 sizzle reel for its GOTY nomination?

Any pic of that?

I'm in Europe, but my friend just sent me this pic.

I'm expecting Captain Toad, Splatoon, Xenoblade X, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Yoshi's Epic Yarn, maybe Devil's Third?

Turns out they've been combined into one game SMT X Fire Emblem X Last Guardian. They are afraid to show it because the beta alone has killed people from sheer excitement.

+1 Cranky Kong being in Tropical Freeze had me excited.

This doesn't necessarily mean Nintendo will have something to show(especially something significant/totally new). It likely just an attempt to get some of tonight's content out to Wii U owners. On The Game Awards 2014 web page, Wii U is listed as a 'partner,' and a place where you can see the show live(not sure if Nintendo allowed that last year). So it seems like this is all about 'being relevant' more than anything else.

I also think they've got the feeling that the spectacular releases this year(Bayo, MKart, Smash) could earn them a few nominations, and possibly an award or two, so it would be wise to capture snippets of those moments.

Of course, I'm hoping that they do have a surprise for us, but at the very least, I appreciate that they are much more active in trying to bring some content from the Game Awards to their base. I think Nintendo is finally beginning to take these shows/events(and the power of the press) a lot more seriously and finding ways to get involved somehow, as apposed to just showing up for a lame E3 presentation, then sitting every other show out.

Here's hoping for a spectacular show overall!

They've gone and done it... they've gone and woke the sleeping dragon now.

Nintendo should have left well enough alone and now they're going to get it. It's not enough that they're bleeding benjamins from practically every crevice of their existence. Now they go and throw immense moneyhats at a niche award show like TGA just to piss off the market. Why pay to announce a game unavailable to many gamers as possible? Why not put that money into first-party studios and games instead?

I know, I know... this is the way the business goes as they say. Well, they forced Microsoft's hands with their early Wii sales lead and Microsoft only responded with Kinect (source: musings thread) by releasing incredible games and value. Microsoft will undoubtedly follow this announcement up with some real megatons of their own.

Gears remake collection. A true Banjo sequel. Halo 5 beta in the hands of gamers. The next Bayonetta, Dead Space and Crysis as exclusives. Those are the kinds of blockbuster response announcements I expect, and then some. You hit Microsoft with a jab, you best be ready for a flurry of uppercuts coming at you in response.

One problem with that niberu.

.....

Micrsooft has Zero announcement :P

I actually think Nintendo was pretty aware last year of the scale of announcements that would be at VGX (aka nothing big outside of NMS), so Cranky Kong was deemed appropriate. Maybe they'll have something bigger this year since the announcements are a bigger deal.

There will be a bunch new info about some of the most hyped games of 2015 for the other platforms, I prefer that Nintendo doesn't show anything rather than show trailers of already released games or something like Cranky Kong.

I think one of the following are what's possible for today's event:

- Star Fox reveal
- Xenoblade Chronicles Visuals trailer (least likely in my opinion)
- Glimpse of what Retro Studios is working on
- Devil's Third re-reveal

Not expecting anything at all. Got to save all that good stuff for Nintendo Direct, who cares about the game awards?

The playlist is probably just to show moments where Nintendo wins certain awards, i.e. Mario Kart wining best sports game, Smash winning best fighting game,
Bayonetta winning GOTY,
