Yeah Nintendo said it was designed that way, but I've definitely noticed an increase in give as I've played. Though it may also be because I fidget with them the more they give. The right one makes a freaky noise and I absent mindedly rock it back and forth whole playing. Was thinking about tightening the screws, glad to hear it works. I was super impressed at how rock solid the connection was when I first opened it.

Mine was snug fit first day. After a week, it wobbles so much and along with springy sound from thumbstick, I bought a new joy con. New one is now tight. I'm sure it will get more loose overtime. Looking at teardown on the bottom part of the plastic rail just hold by plastic so it might wear with use. Time will tell if it gets more loose.

My new right one also creak at the bottom but only if I try to bend it does not happen during play. I now only use the old one for split use only and my new joy con will never leave the console.

I had my very first left joycon desyncing issues ever. It happened like 7 times in an hour while playing Zelda. The last time, it forced me to run off of a platform while I was climbing a tower. All I could do was watch Link fall to his death lol

Yeah, they're plastic so I too am afraid it's almost inevitable. Damn. And it's not that they are cheap to replace.

They need elite controller where the rails are die cast metal, lol.

I have posted a few times about this already but with no answer..

Can others confirm that their switch screen has a grainy/oily look to it? Much more noticeable on bright screens. (The home screen with white theme is a great example.) I can't tell if it is the plastic they used instead of glass, or what. Obviously noticeable the closer you are to the screen, but yeah

Yeah, it has anti-glare look to it.

Thanks! Appreciate the quick response.

That GIF shows it perfectly. A grainy (for lack of a better term) look to it. Wish it wasn't there, but at least this confirms mine isn't messed up

Sounds like my situation. I'm literally 1 meter from the Switch, and the Joycon (not just the left one) will sometimes lose connection briefly just from me sitting cross-legged. Like you say, I have to lift my hands up into the air so I have a clear line of sight to the Switch to get a perfect connection. It's beyond terrible. I usually play with the split Joycon setup, but I get this using the grip as well.

The weird thing is that I didn't really notice any issues like this in the first week or so. Then suddenly it started happening, and now it happens every play session. No idea what has changed.

I kinda feel bad for you, and others that are having the joycon issue. I posted earlier, I can get 36ft. (12yrds) away from the Switch and both joycons are fully responsive in my hand.

I spent over 45 hours in Zelda in 10 days... lord that's averaging over 4.5 hours a day. I've never done that in my life in any game ever.

Anyone have their switch glitch out? I was playing zelda and wanted to turn it off for the night. When I saved and hit home, it didn't return me to the home menu. Instead it kept the save, load menu up and in the background, I was able to move link around still. I couldn't return to home or use the menu at all. So I just let the power died out and it worked fine the next day.

My oldest and I have been playing BoTW since release on our Switches with no significant issues to report. We both got what I assume is the 10 day activity unlock freeze on the exact same day. I just had to manually power down and restart both devices. My guess is that having a game in suspend play while the activity tracker unlocks causes problems.

We've played both of our devices as portables, table top, docked, with joy-cons, and pro controller, and no connectivity issues. While docked we sit about 8-9 feet from one TV, and about 5-6 feet from another TV (we're using 2 docks). I was mentally preparing for bluetooth issues since we have a lot of active bluetooth devices, but so far no issues.

This thing is perfect. It's the one getting all the rave reviews all over GAF. I also bought it and love it. I'm used to putting screen protectors on, and this one was easier than most.
Yeah, I can vouch for this one too. I used the hinge method and spent a good amount of time prior to application cleaning and drying the screen. Been perfect so far.

All of this talk about Joycon issues and it's actually been my pro controller that's been desyncing on me. It's happened twice so far while playing Zelda. I can't even recreate the Joycon issue with my setup.

Even when obstructed by something?

It's weird tough. Sometimes I'll try holding one or both behind my back, and there are no issues at all. But then later they'll briefly become unresponsive just from part of my legs being in the way. It's not consistent.

Yes, tons of people have had exactly this happen after 10 days. Some firmware bug.

So I have a ravpower battery pack that has USB C to charge my switch on the go when I don't have an outlet.

But, it also came with a USB-C wall adapter. I'm wondering if I use use this to power my switch when I'm near an outlet instead of buying a 2nd "official" switch adapter.

The specs on the block are:

Input: AC110-240v 50/60Hz 1A Max

Output: DC 5V/3A,9V/2A, 15V/2A, 20V/1.5A Max

Are these the same specs as the official wall adapter? Will I damage my switch by using this?

Damn, the Pro is shit too? I was gonna get one in the hopes that it would work better. What kind of utter shit Bluetooth does Nintendo use in their controllers? My PlayStation controllers have NEVER had any issues like this. As someone who mainly uses his Switch docked, this is turning the entire console into a shitfest for me. Can't use the damn thing properly like this.

It took me a while to realize this, because I've been using the pro controller almost exclusively, but the Y button on my Joy-Con is messed up. Pressing the bottom part of it with a normal amount of force "clicks" the button, but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't register a button press. In order to get a button press to register, I have to press the top part of it or press it harder than normal. I looked into sending it in for repair or replacement, but it sounds like I'd have to send the entire system in and it's like man, I don't want that hassle.

Well twice in roughly 60 hours of Zelda. It hasn't happened in any other game but none have close to that kind of playtime.

I've never had that issue with any other controller before. Even back in the Wii days I can remember people complaining about Wiimote issues and I never had a one.

I'd hardly take that one anecdote as a sign of the pro controller being shit. Also, have you contacted Nintendo to see if they'd replace them? I wouldn't keep dealing with that if I were you.

Someone somewhere said he fixed it by tightening the screws of the rails on Switch. I've got some wobbling on the left one but I don't have a decent screwdriver to try.
Give me a shout if you try it and it works!

Never worked for me. You can't tighten those screws very much without stripping them since they're already snug. I found the best way is to put a little bit of electrical tape on the rail. Put it on the black square part - the visible square - facing out. On the back side of this piece is where the pins for the JoyCon are, in case you're wondering where I'm talking about.

This snugged things up just enough, eliminated the plastic-on-metal squeaking/rubbing, too. I did it on both sides and the whole thing feels like one cohesive unit, now.

I can confirm that my loose joy con is not cause by the rail. I tried to see if rail move or not but it is not moving at all.

So far enjoying the Switch very much. However last night something strange happened. After waking the Switch in portable mode by clicking home, I noticed my left joycon wasn't being detected. I tried removing it from the pad and sliding it back in, putting it to sleep and waking it up again, etc. But nothing worked. Eventually after a while it decided to turn on by itself and was fine after that. Anyone else experience something like this where the left joycon goes dead?

Well, the way that works here in Sweden is that you contact the place you bought the thing at. They're responsible for the warranty (and they in turn will pass it on to the manufacturer). And I guess I'll do that. Gotta get a Pro controller first though, I'm NOT gonna be without Zelda for X time.

Does anyone have the official Nintendo screen protector? I don't know when my other one is going to come but that one is available everywhere near me.

Also, already have some books stretching my dock. Applied some heat to it to help warp it a bit.

Unrelated, I'm going to be using my 64GB card for now. When I decide to upgrade, do I just copy the data to a new card and call it a day? Or do I need to do something special to move data from one mSD to another?

Oh and did anyone bite the bullet and buy a second AC Adapter? I might for travel...

I'm using the one that came with the official case if that's what you're referring to. Application was really easy and it looks great. I was expecting a toss-away and having to buy another protector, but that doesn't seem necessary at all.

I may just go grab it so that I'm not afraid of damaging my screen between now and whenever my other one arrives. If it's not hot garbage (Amazon people apparently don't know how to put on protectors), I should be content for a bit. Thanks.

Finally got around to playing Zelda for real only to discover that my Switch can't keep a solid hdmi connection after running for about 2 minutes. Tried different TVs, HDMI cables and plugging into different surge protectors/UPSes. Incredibly frustrating and I might have to send the damn thing in for repair.

I just did a damn good job getting my screen protector on too. What a pain in the ass.

I connected to a friend's wi-fi for the first time yesterday and right after the connection was established, the Switch just froze in the menu. No reaction whatsoever. Haven't read about this happening to anyone, so I have no idea if this is a widespread issue.

Plus, I didn't know you have to hold the power button for like ten seconds in order to power it off the hard way. Imagine my joy when I held it for the expected 3-5 seconds and nothing happened. My heart skipped multiple beats.

Any word on if any company is producing a grip for the Switch? I can't play a handheld without one, my hands cramp.

I haven't heard anything but this was a pretty big market for the Vita and they have similar form factors so I would bet on it. Hopefully soon, I'd love a big rubbery grip.

It's probably the dock! Mine was faulty out of the box; it didn't send a signal at all for awhile!

I sent the dock in and they confirmed that it was the issue and fixed it up! You don't have to worry about sending in the Switch at all if your problem is the same as mine was!

Any release date updates for the following titles:

Yooka-Laylee
Terraria
Stardew Valley
Minecraft
Portal Knights
Lego Worlds

These are titles my daughter wants super bad.

The Shiekah Slate one from the Collector's Edition. Its pretty amazing.

They make ones just like it internally, i think one is Link's Tunic and the other is Mario themed.

I have my Switch, Hori PlayStand, and both Wrist Straps in mine. Could easily hold more if I needed more for my every day use!

Not actually that important
Guys I feel like an idiot for asking but...
How the hell do I use a set (two joycons) for two players?
I can't find the option in FAST RMX nor in the NeoGeo games... it always sees them as one set for one player (in fact the sticks don't change plane following the orientation of the Joycon). Damn I only have the joycons and wanna play with my buddy :-(
Help?

I'm really curious to see how Snake Pass turns out. I'm not expecting the fast paced platformer that I'm craving right now, but I can get down with a slower puzzle platformer too. I just hope it's good!

I bought a pair of blue joycons and notice they fit more snugly onto the switch then the greys that came with my system. The greys had a little give to them, the blues much less so.

Anyone else able to weigh in?

it's normal afaik, my right joy-con has slightly more give than the left one. some are slightly more "wobbly" than others. I don't know how much it would cost nintendo to make every joy-con fit every switch on earth absolutely perfectly without any give..
