Anybody here know any good screen protector?

My little cousin got a Switch and ask me to find him one, but I can only find the one on Amazon. It seems to be popular and reviewed well.

Someone somewhere said he fixed it by tightening the screws of the rails on Switch. I've got some wobbling on the left one but I don't have a decent screwdriver to try.
Give me a shout if you try it and it works!
Yeah Nintendo said it was designed that way, but I've definitely noticed an increase in give as I've played. Though it may also be because I fidget with them the more they give. The right one makes a freaky noise and I absent mindedly rock it back and forth whole playing. Was thinking about tightening the screws, glad to hear it works. I was super impressed at how rock solid the connection was when I first opened it.

I know I've freaked out in this thread enough about my Switch's fan but I'm starting to calm down about it. Seems like it's consistently pretty quiet but if I play for a while while charging it starts to get pretty loud. Whenever it does I just shut it off to give it a rest (this is usually after a ~4 hour session). Dunno if I really need to stop playing when it gets loud but it kinda makes me nervous and I don't wanna push it.

this disrespect...
I was excited for it and I got it on PS4. I was super disappointed by it, and I love rhythm games. I can't really recommend it.

Compatability between regions is probably going to be a bit weirder, not sure. I'm sure there's someone who's double dipped on the US I am Setsuna and the Japan physical one.

Also though I don't know why you wouldn't just continue to play on the digital version even when you get your physical version, unless it really is about system storage. I would just buy a microsd card though
I'm curious for how digital -> physical saves work as well.

I would never want to play digitally, so I only buy a game digitally if I feel that there's no chance of it being released physically...which I've been wrong before in the past. I try my best to purchase the game physically to rectify my decision, but being unable to share the digital to physical save files would deter me greatly from buying anything digitally on the offchance it has a chance of being released physically.

System storage is not a problem for me.

Saves are likely tied to game id and user accounts. So as long as you use the same account and the same game, it shouldn't matter what format the game is in. As far as regions go, it shouldn't be an issue as long as it is the same game id. Zelda for example, is a universal title. You can change your system language to any language and that version of the game will boot up. It will use the same saves regardless too.

I use a 5 in 1 HDMI Switcher as my TV doesn't have enough ports. The Switch is in sleep mode when docked, so if I'm playing PS4 I will randomly get black screens for a few seconds and then the screen returns. I had an inkling it might be the Switch causing it, and sure enough if I take the Switch out of it's dock there's no black outs. It appears as though the Switch is randomly connecting to the HDMI for a second or something and going back to sleep. Any idea why it works like this? Any way around it leaving it docked? I thought turning the Switch off completely might fix the problem but I couldn't work out how to power it down (lol)
PS. My TV will turn on when I wake the Switch up. I'm not sure if it's actually a feature but it's nice

I can respect that. I was actually surprised by how much I loved it, but oh boy do I love it. One of my favorite games.
That's cool. It is indeed super stylish and the music is great. My problem was that I often felt like the obstacles were slightly out of sync with the music, which is no good for a rhythm game and made me quit playing. Seems like one of the main complaints people have (though few people complain about the game at all).

Mmmk, good to know. Thanks

So after a day of trying to finish bravely default before opening the switch i broke (its all that stupid second half of the game after chapter 4).
so started it up downloaded BOTW digitally and tried it for a few mins before leaving for work...man i am amazed by the quality, i really hope we will get more games in this quality.
so far so good...no WiFi or joycon issues.

i tried the power bank i have which worked really well while in the UI...charges 1% every 3-4 minutes.
in sleep mode it took like 30% power from the power bank to charge it fully from 33% battery, so i think it will be good for 2 fully charges.
i still need to check how it charges while playing and not being in the UI.

is there anyway to disable WiFi to save battery life?

Just got killed by a Bokoblin with a single hit and lost like half an hour of progress (and a good bunch of loot).

Death has consequences, save often fam.

There is a flight mode afaik.

Been looking for a good site or source to find a frequently updated release schedule for upcoming Switch games. Really digging Zelda and Blaster Master but am looking for an excuse to drop down some money on incoming indie games but just curious on what to look out for specifically.

when do you guys think we'll get a nintendo direct with possible software announcements or updates?

I'd love to see more stuff

Was playing 40 mins or so in docked mode in my room which is showing as 31c degrees. Went to pick it up and it was obvious very hot, but it didn't hear the fans going until I put it right up to my ear. So in other words it's barely audible if you're in portable mode, so it won't interrupt your game.

Anyone else notice this?

I wouldn't have known it was on.

Don't think we will see anything till E3. It''s only a couple of months away. Might get an Arms direct and perhaps a couple of new indie announcements, but that'll be it i think. Could be wrong though.

How? BotW has an amazing autosave function.

That's what I was counting on, but it didn't save me this time. I spent the time in a forest and the adjacent meadow foraging and hunting, so there wasn't much linear distance traversed and I guess that's why the autosave system wasn't triggered. I was killed by Bokoblin
on horseback
(which was my first encounter with this kind).

Was bummed when the game loaded me back to the area just before I entered the forest.

So... I just noticed this yesterday with my Switch.

I've been charging it using the USB-C to USB-A charger that came with the Pro Controller for a few days. Lately when I plug in headphones while the device is charging (or if it's charging while connected to the TV) I hear some low level static hum (if that's the term), like I can hear electricity coursing through it through the headphones or even my TV speakers.

What options do I have right now?

Edit: I should note that I also hear it when the Switch is in the dock, so I'm assuming this is something wrong with my Switch itself.

Fan noise varies in handheld mode from what I can tell, but it's usually pretty quiet for most players most of the time. Sometimes it speeds up for a bit. Mine gets loud if I play while charging for a while.

My favorite thing about the switch is how barebones it feels.

I know that's weird, but I just want a video game ass video game system, not a half assed computer like what my PS4 feels like.

I don't need anything else, just turn it on and go.

It's super fast and slick, the UI isn't bogged down or laggy.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with that opinion, and I get it, but I am really digging it.
I get what you're saying. I think the OS layout is wonderfully simple with games plainly in the focus. It helps that it's really fast too (bar the brief loading for entering the shop) which is a new thing for Nintendo consoles. Still there's a lot of good features missing like messaging, cloud saves and some apps like Netflix or a browser. I believe they can add a lot of that without cluttering up the imo really nice interface. I think they have a really nice base to build on here and I hope they don't bloat it up when doing so.

Anyone knows if there is a grip for handheld switch? Its not bas when portable, but hands do kinda cramp

Haven't seen anything like there was on 3DS, a basic shell that provides a more traditional controller grip rather than holding a flat tiny surface

Interesting anecdotal battery info:

I played Snipperclips 2 player for 90 minutes. My battery went from 100% to 74%. Not too bad.

Then played Zelda for an hour and it went from 74% to 42%.

So while we already know, Zelda is very heavy on the battery.

I had this happen when connecting my docked switch to my receiver via the headlhone/aux out. I was able to fix it by buying a $10 ground noise isolator on amazon and connecting the headphones to that. Seems to be an issue when the switch is charging especially.

Edit: this is the part I got- Mpow Ground Loop Noise Isolator for Car Audio / Home Stereo System with 3.5mm Audio Cable (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019393MV2/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I get the impression from this thread that buying an official ac adapter for on-the-go charging is just as cost-effective as getting something else. Is that right? They're $40 in Canada, so I'm hesitant to go that route just for the cost alone.

What are you guys using for a case since the official Hori one is sold out for quite some time...I am traveling this weekend and would like to take my switch with me

That's really weird. I see the little "saving" message in the lower left corner every time I get near one of those camps.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
I am genuinely concerned that the left joy-con issue is going to kill Nintendo's relationship with Amazon just like the 3DS did.

It's Thursday, usually around lunch. Has Pocket Rumble been confirmed for tomorrow?

Oh no, I have no idea when it's supposed to come out other than it's due this month, I was just hoping I'd check and it'd be there :p

Could've worded that a little better xP

Didn't get any system freeze when the playtime unlocked, looks like I've spent 45 hours or more on Zelda so far.
Time sure flies while playing the game, and I've had days I couldn't play due to circumstances because my tempered glass haven't arrived yet.

Little update on this. I tried to move the plastic rail on the left, wobbly Joy-Con and it moves. So it's not the metal rail on the system I suppose. Now to find out could I open it and tighten it somehow.
What boggles my mind is that it's sturdy if I switch it to the right side, backwards.

Unsure if this was posted already, but per Reddit (via GoNintendo):

As a target employee in Southern California, we got some info from corporate today on when and how many switches we'll be getting.

We got some info in a corporate email today that says to expect the next allocation of Nintendo switches to arrive between march 19-25 and to expect 10-12 units per store on average.

Take that as you will, even though it lays out some idea of what to expect, it still sounds a little broad. We should be able to see in our system when they are on their way and what day to expect them as they get closer to shipping out to our stores.

Hi guys.

Ive had my Switch for 24 hours and Im having massive joy con connection issues and on the brink of returning it. I played the snipperclips demo with my girlfriend last night and it was an issue but I ignored it. But tonight playing Zelda its unplayable. I literally have to hold my hands in the air to have a good connection. If I dont, buttons dont respond, i get locked into running in one direction or I get the hold L+R connection screen. Its ONLY happening to the left blue joy con.

I heard they suffer from interference problems. The switch is sat to the left of my tv, my PS4 is directly under the tv in a compartment and my router is situated under the whole TV cabinet. I also have my sound bar laying directly in front of the TV. Theres not really anywere else for it to go the way my living room is set out.

Is anyone else having issues this bad? Do you think its simply interference or is my left joy con just fucked?

Thanks in advance!

edit - im sat at most, 3m from the switch unit.

Sounds like my situation. I'm literally 1 meter from the Switch, and the Joycon (not just the left one) will sometimes lose connection briefly just from me sitting cross-legged. Like you say, I have to lift my hands up into the air so I have a clear line of sight to the Switch to get a perfect connection. It's beyond terrible. I usually play with the split Joycon setup, but I get this using the grip as well.

The weird thing is that I didn't really notice any issues like this in the first week or so. Then suddenly it started happening, and now it happens every play session. No idea what has changed.
