wait, so whats the deal with the charger grip?
this thing is sold separetly?
do need this to charge the joy cons while playing?
If you have the joycons docked with the tablet, doesn't it charge everything?

Needs to be restated.
The entry price is fine.
It's the mountain of bullshit surrounding the thing that is the problem.

Did they release the true spec of the hardware?
Domwe know anything about backwards compatibility? Wii games, wii-u games?
There's an led strip, even labeled on the diagram pics above, on the TLG rip too. You can't see that part of the joy cons when attached at that's the side that slides on the rails.

You pay for ports. No BC except VC, but no details on whether that freely carries over.
That's too bad. Being able to grab some cheap and classic wii/wiiu games for it would have made the console more attractive for meThey seem to be porting every hit Wii U game and it's a completely different architecture. Also, no disc drive.
0.0% chance of BC.
Saw this image.
According to it, it's the 4th cheapest launch of a console when adjusted for inflation.
Its portable they aren't. It has a screen they don't. They been on the market for 3 years so most people already know if they want them.
This argument would make sense if they both launched this year...maybe.
I'll say it again Portable screen

i imagine that would be the case, but i hated having to dock my Wiiu pad when its low battery, i got a cable that let me charge and play at the same time, but it seems like for Switch you gotta get that charge pad thing to do that.
None of this matters lolIts portable they aren't. It has a screen they don't. They been on the market for 3 years so most people already know if they want them.

Also Mario this holiday.
I'm not convinced these are actual LEDs and not some sort of holes that let the lights from the Joycons through. I'm not the only one who thought so apparently :There's an led strip, even labeled on the diagram pics above, on the TLG rip too. Maybe you're right though.
I think 1-2-Switch should have been a pack-in, it would lessen the blow.
Nintendo fans man. Can't believe you guys are checking inflation rates and shit to justify that this thing is ok in 300$. Do you seriously care about inflation when buying a TV if it is expensive? Or a toaster?
Meaning $300 is too high for the base console? Can't believe you guys are checking inflation rates and shit to justify that this thing is ok in 300$. Do you seriously care about inflation when buying a TV if it is expensive? Or a toaster?
I went to bed last night planning on preordering during my lunch today. When I woke and saw £280 for it, I wasn't disappointed but the lauch lineup gave me pause for thought.
At that stage I was still onboard but when I saw the price of pro controllers and joycons, I was shocked. I have 5 kids and we love playing games like Mario 3D World and Mario Kart together. With these prices, those experiences are too expensive for our needs.
Then there's the online subscription, it's a poor offering. Especially considering the games they'll offer up are ones I've bought on the Wii and Wii U.
I'm gutted after being so hyped for the Switch. I'll still get it eventually - Nintendo games are so special - but this will be the first Nintendo Console since the SNES I wont be getting day one (handhelds included).
Comparing launch prices are meaningless. Wiiu got it's ass beat by the lower price of PS3/360 on their catelog.I'm talking about comparing it to launch prices. Consoles alone or even with software. I think comparing it to the PS4 Pro launch pricing would be more fair, hardware difference aside. However, the pricing of accessories here, yeah that's insane. And I'm someone who thinks $60 for a controller is outrageous. But the console price alone seems reasonable to me.

What I'm saying is expecting $250 for a console at launch and then being shocked when it's $300, when all other consoles out now launched at the $400 mark when they came out, seems silly. Only talking about the BASE consoles, no bundles/accessories.Comparing launch prices are meaningless. Wiiu got it's ass beat by the lower price of PS3/360 on their catelog.

I didn't see any when they presented the hardware during the Treehouse stream.Do we know if the pro controller has a headphone jack? Saw it mentioned in another thread that it might not...
Obviously people are putting Nintendo on a different level so they have certain expectations. Since I'm expecting quality Nintendo exclusives and considering we're getting a home and portable console in one, I think $300 is reasonable. As for pack ins and accessories, I agree the prices are crazy. Not when the consoles on the market are far stronger and offer better libraries for less money with a pack in game.

]Who thought voice chat and parties over a paid app would be a good idea..?
Yep. Price is just $50 bucks more, and battery life is better than og 3ds. But that online fee sucks. Nintendo was my safe haven for online console.300$ is OK. Paying for online on top of that is not.

Silly question. But is it micro sd or sd cards?
