I vaguely remember scouring around at multiple stores looking for extra Wiimotes/nuncucks back at the Wii launch haha. That might have just been my area though, can't remember that well.

Most of my Wal-Marts will have 20-35 per store of the gray, and 10-15 of the neon.
Wanted to give an update on my situation. I went in store and explained what I was trying to do to the customer service rep and she basically told me that they couldn't modify an online order even if it's for store pick-up. She tried to see if she can get her manager to sort it out but he was very short with his replies and didn't offer any solutions other than "sorry bro, it's getting canceled". So I went back to my car and called Best Buy corporate again and went through the process with another rep. Somehow, she was able to change the payment method without a hitch. So, I guess I'm still picking up my Zelda: BotW Special Edition at launch. Yay!
Thank you both, I can afford both, so I guess I'll get the Hori too and if it starts falling apart down the line, use the Nintendo one.
Man I feel lucky, I checked the buy/sale/trade section and saw fellow gaffer Naked Snake had a Grey Switch preorder from Amazon to sale. I paid him via Amazon gift card at a amazingly fair price and he changed it over to my address. Shout outs to Naked Snake! I suggest those still looking check that thread while you can.

Got my SD card and my Skinomi screen protector today. Got a wierd email from Skinomi, too that basically said the screen protector might not be 100% accurate in terms of fit, and they'll replace it for free and refund your purchase if that's the case. I've had good luck with them in the past, so here's hoping.
My Zelda guide says the same.

So I preordered the Standard Hori screen protectors over the Premium ones. It seems the Standard ones have a dust/bubble free application method (i.e. as in even if a small particle gets in it would not end up ruining the whole application). I don't intend to take my Switch on rough journeys are around with me all the time. Should I just stick with the ones I'm getting, or is the upgrade to the Premium ones essential?
My card got charged by Gamestop at just after midnight, so I am finally in the final stretch. I have NEVER been more psyched about checking my account and seeing it $410 less. I am so fucking excited that I had to share this mundane information that no one cares about on a forum that I like.
Whoa, a few Wal-Marts around me are listing well over 100 gray units. Though not a whole lot of neon ones, which is what I'm learning towards. How accurate can I expect this to be? How many would be pre-orders? I was thinking about trying Best Buy at first, but now I'm wondering if this is actually my best bet.

Get a tempered glass screen protector once they are available instead.
Did you decide on which brand you're going with Aztec?
Iirc the Neon switch comes with Blue left/Red right while the joy con bundle comes with Red left/Blue right.

Normal screen protectors are generally cheap PET plastic. Basically the stuff water bottles are made of. They are generally harder to apply, get bubbles, peel on corners and noticeably absorb oils from the skin over time which causes discoloration. They also change the feel of the device markedly in my experience. Almost a rubbery feel.

And charging grips too. Luckily I was able to get a preorder in at Best Buy for both grip and Pro controller for release day arrival and cancelled my amazon orders for those.
No walmart in my area has over 10 units coming, infact only went up to 9, the highest count was for stores that were in the boondocks.

People like the protection of the glass better. However , since I take care of my hardware , it would not matter much for me. I might get the glass instead if I can't find the regular screen protector at bestbuy on release date

Ugh, my credit card thought my GameStop preorder was suspicious activity. Now that I've taken care of that on my end, does anybody know if there's anything I'll need to do aside from replying to GameStop's email with "RESOLVED" to make sure I still get this on launch day?
I'm in the same boat. Had to call my bank and tell them that it was a transaction I authorized. My bank "reset" my card and I replied back to the GameStop e-mail I received. Just waiting now.

So are these releasing at midnight or friday in the am? Get out around 10:30pm on Thursday and have Friday off wondering if I should go wait in line at BB or Walmart.
My wife preordered Switch at GS and renewed my Powerup Pro membership. It doesn't look like the preorder purchase gave my any points, even though she paid in full. Will I get the points when I buy the system?
