Not really. I ordered a glass protector but frankly I don't even know if I want to use it. I don't have one on my vita, phone, laptop, iPad, etc.
Hori protectors are great. Tempered glass can help with drops and it feels a little bit smoother but it doesn't really matter.
Considering all of the tempered glass ones do not come out Day 1, I feel I should settle for the $10 Hori one until I've invested in a travel case of some sort. As of now my funds are going to get drained massively and would want to spend money more on game titles than accessories. And my Switch is less likely getting out out of my house especially with it being sold out for a while.
A microSD card is most likely going to be the first thing I'm going to get post-launch. Maybe in about a month or so prices will again drop for those (since higher capacities will likely come out).
It shouldn't but it can. Safest bet is if you have to change something talk to amazon directly
Applying gift card used to not affect anything but apparently some people have been having issues with the switch. Changing any payment/shipping details will probably reset your position in the queue. I applied a gift card to pay off my switch last week and everything seems fine so far.

Any word on if the Wii / Wii U LAN adapter works with Switch?
How does UPS or USPS deal with closed roads? I've had road working going on on my street since Feb 1st. They claim they are gonna be out by Mar. 1 but from the mountain of rocks and dirt they left behind I'm worried they won't clear that junk out by then.

Just got around to paying off my console / Zelda / pro controller today.
Now all that's left is the long long wait until Friday. On the plus side, I get to sit here and stare at the 128gb memory card I bought for my Switch. (Samsung EVO Plus)

I believe you can have UPS and USPS hold a package at a post office or shipping center but I am not 100% sure. If the road is closed I am not sure if you can get there anyway.

Nope. It will say that cause its there but Best Buys POS system wont let it be sold. Use to work there, dont waste your time plus they know when its coming. Nintendo reps was all in the stores doing training last week.

My bad, I must have misunderstood. I thought you meant that they wouldn't let me take Zelda along side my Switch at the midnight release, meaning that I would have to come back the next day XD

I had $59 in store credit, applied it all to Zelda and my status changed from Mar 3rd to we have no idea. I applied that to my Switch pre-order and nothing changed shipping wise (still says delivery on the 3rd). The only thing I can think of is since the full cost wasn't paid off, the original payment option is still there holding your place in the queue.
Ended up canceling that order and going with Best Buy.
The best advice I can give is to call Amazon.

Hey, I got my Switch and Zelda preordered for Best Buy pickup and am wondering, does it matter what time I get there since I have a preorder? I work until 11PM and could probably get to the store by 11:30 assuming I'm not by myself and third shift isn't too late, but I have some time I could use to leave early if it'd be best to get there earlier like around 11 or so. Never been to any midnight launch before.
To apply a gift card do you just load it into your Amazon wallet or do you have to go to the order details and apply it there? I may do this since I'm not sure if I'll get my new debit card before it ships.
But for others asking, when I talked to customer service, they told me that if u switch the payment type that would cancel the order. I was trying to see if I could just switch to my checking account as payment but they said whatever form of payment was first used had to stay the same, meaning if I used a credit card I could change the credit card but not switch to a different form of payment.
Guess I need to post this again since there are some people who seem to have already forgotten after 2 page. Wow, how the mind slips!

I reloaded my gift balance using my credit card and then applied it to the order. There is a button in the order details that does this but the balance has to be there beforehand.

My preorder for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and 1-2-Switch game is preparing for shipping with Thursday delivery from BestBuy. My Zelda order is just now processing, also for Thursday delivery. I'm glad I will have the controller and games before the launch of the console. Thing is, I need to test my luck and search for a Switch console Thursday night at BestBuy, I do not have a preorder but I'm certain I will be able to get myself one at the midnight launch. Even if it's the very last one available.

If you have a gift card code you can also apply it directly from the order page.
I think applying gift balance to your Switch console order should be fine. But if Zelda is in the same order or you apply it to Zelda order it will likely remove the estimated delivery date. Something is going on with Zelda on Amazon.
In short: don't touch your Zelda order if you don't want to mess it up. Switch order should be ok.
Ah that explains why I didn't see it there sucks though it won't let me load gift balance using my checking account means I'll have to make sure I get to the bank before they close tomorrow and go buy a gift card.
A glass screen protector feels like an actual glass screen and does a better job protecting against fingerprints. Anything else feels... sticky. At least at first. But if all you want is scratch protection, any screen protector is probably fine since most of the games don't actually use the touchscreen as an input.

My Best Buy order is preparing, same for pro controller and zelda, no updates on my amazon order yet. Everything from Best Buy is showing coming in on the 3rd, yet my copy of Horixon should be here Monday/today

I don't live in the US. I wanted it shipped to a forwarding address (and I would receive it a few days later, just don't want to get my Switch earlier than Zelda).

If you ordered a Switch from Best Buy, keep an eye on your preorder. Numerous reports are coming in about an issue with orders, many of which are tied to a "failed authorization" glitch when it comes to payment. A Best Buy rep has confirmed that this is a glitch on their end, and they are working on it. If this happens to you, contact consumer service and they will open a ticket for you. Resolution for the issue should be handled within 48 hours. Thanks to ChrisRo for the heads up.

I have the system, Zelda and pro controller on separate orders. All three are listed as "preparing."
Only the game and controller have been charged to my card, though, which is odd.
How do you know if you are in the clear?
My Switch (and several other items) are at the preparing stage and have been for over 24 hours.

Most Walmarts are getting 30-50 grey Switch units for launch. Most regular Walmart stores will have between 30-50 units, while some Supercenters will have anywhere from 50-100 units depending on the metro area they serve and proximity to other Walmarts. If you live in a rural area, the numbers will be far less obviously.
But
Walmarts will only be getting 1/3 of that in the Neon color or less! So if you want the Neon, beware. Otherwise I'd say these numbers are far greater than we all expected (given the NES Classic bullshit last year)
I hope this helps some of you guys and gals. Most Walmarts will have their Switch shipments by Tuesday of this week, so I would call your local store on Tuesday for more details. Happy Switch week everyone

every other store is getting around 20-30% of neons only, so that is the trend everywhere
Is there any word on Walmart getting in accessories? I'd really like to stroll by at midnight and grab a Pro Controller if possible, having missed my opportunity up to this point.
