Have you called all your local BB locations or are you basing it off of their website list?

My local one that I pre-ordered through wasn't on the list, but when I called last week they told me they were doing a midnight launch.

How did you get ahold of the local store? Every time I call I get the call center and they don't know anything and keep disconnecting me when they try to transfer me to the store. This has been such a pain in the ass that I probably won't shop there in the future.

Getting so pissed off at Best Buy. Trying to call to figure out what's going on with pre-order pickup at my specific store (10 pm or 12 am). On hold for 20 minutes. Finally get someone and they have no idea. I ask them to connect me to the actual store and they disconnect me.

I call back, wait on hold for 20 minutes again and ask to get connected to the store. A different person keeps insisting they can deal with my order and they don't need to. They finally start connecting me and it disconnects again.

A 30 second question is turning into a 30+ minute ordeal.

I hate calling Best Buy, Walmart, Target type stores for anything. You just get the feeling you will never get to talk to the right department and if you do, whoever answers will never have a clue. Just, in general, not just with this.
True. I never trust what they tell me on the phone.

I just looked at my order on the BB website, clicked on the store and called the local store number it gave me. It gave me an automated system which I navigated to speak to sales (specifically hit 1 and then 2). It connected me to the local store and I asked. I sat on hold for probably five minutes or so.

I'm still not totally confident in the answer I got, but the person I talked to seemed extremely confident in her answer. Like she reiterated it multiple times.

Okay, but this is my first product launch and I think it's pretty reasonable to be able to call a specific store to talk to somebody.

I always have the worst luck with Best Buy shipping. I see all of these stories about early arrivals but the last two games I pre-ordered from them arrived a day or two late. It's the main reason I switched (hehe) my Switch pre-order over to Amazon.

But I still have the Pro Controller, BOTW, and 1,2 Switch pre-ordered through Best Buy so even though it says processing and "get by 3/3", I'm going to start to get a bit nervous if they don't ship tomorrow.

Anyone know why it says all of my store pick up orders at BB are available Thursday? That cant be correct.... right?

Stores are going to let you buy it at 11:30pm on Thursday but then keep you locked in the store til midnight. So technically yes you can get it on the 2nd.

That happened to me with my Pokemon N3DS where it said it was ready a day early. Don't get excited though, those are locked to the street date so you wouldn't be able to pick it up until midnight.

Well shit. It also says the preorders that I have being shipped to me are supposed to arrive Thursday. Although it's just a pair of Joycons :(

All my Best Buy orders for Pickup are still in the Preodered phase as well. Specifically it is processing. Date is March 3rd. CST Timezone.

Seems like a lot of Switch stuff from partners was under produced or demand is just crazy. Screen protector set I bought now is warning any orders after Feb 7th will not arrive until like May.
 
For almost all of my recent pickups at best buy, like Gravity Rush 2, the pickup date was the day before launch. But, they wont actually sell the game to you until you get the pickup email, even if the online tracker shows 'available' or whatever it says. Kind of a weird system.

I beginning to think the Gamestop customer support deliberately lied to me. My preorder got cancelled on Saturday and I called trying to get it fixed. They tech was no help and didn't seem to be able to do anything so I tried to talk to a supervisor. They said they would call me back that night, which they never did. I tried again yesterday and again waited for a call back which never came. I called back again and told them I wanted to be transferred and I wasn't going to hang up until a supervisor is available to help me out since they never made any of the call backs when they said they would. After about being on the line for about 45 min the support tech came back from hold and told me he was going to put in a reorder for me. He took my updated payment info and confirmed my shipping and billing and let me know how much it would be. He told me I will get an email with the confirmation # and I would be all set. It's now been over 24 hours and I never got an email or a charge on my account. I think he just lied to me about putting in a new order to just get me off the line. I'm trying to call back, but not getting an answer. After this there is no way I will ever order anything from Gamestop. This has been the worst experience ordering something online or dealing with customer support I have ever had.

My GameStop called me a little while ago, letting me know about their midnight release and mentioned they hold the pre-ordered Switch systems for 40 hours (or was it 48?).

Anyway, it's nice that they called.
 
See, I have a similar level of anxiety as others in this thread, but it's directed differently. I'm anxious that the info I was given about my BB doing a midnight launch, no matter how confident the employee I talked to seemed about it, is inaccurate.

Cool news about that Target supposedly getting 50 switches. That seems like a lot. I'm still on the fence about trying for one on Friday but I think it's going to be in better supply than some might expect. I think the NES classic has a lot of people of the opinion that each store is going to have like 3 Switch units but I think they'll get this one right for once.
 
So how does a midnight launch at BestBuy work? Do they just stay open until a bit after midnight, or do they stay open the entire time into Friday morning? Wondering about it since BB doesn't open until 10am and I get out if work at 6am.
