Good, I need some release dates to help plan out my game spending for the fall. Kind of in a holding pattern until MP4 gets a release date since it's a day one / full price pickup for me and will be 100 digeridoos.

My gran could say there will be a direct after donkey Kong releases, there bound to be one coming , considering Nate said his sources 3 said a direct last week and 2 said end of July , can't wait for a direct in aug and people saying he still got it right, for people saying next week then no there is already a Pokémon direct so they not gonna have another in same week

Nate is the only trustworthy Nintendo "insider" out there. Also, he never misses.
Plus it makes sense.

Right now Nintendo wants to have 100% of the focus on their next mainline DK game and for those that don't care about DK, Nintendo will need to show what's coming next this year for their new platform, esp if they want momentum to keep going into the holidays.

Yes, i was predicting too this weeks ago, is the logical movement for Nintendo to focus all the attention on DK right now.

Better finally have some third party announcement ffs
I asked AI to summarize the insider gaming report from earlier this year:

Insider Gaming suggests Nintendo is planning a three-phase launch strategy for the Nintendo Switch 2. This approach would involve releasing games in distinct stages throughout the console's first year. The first phase would focus on first-party Nintendo titles, with subsequent phases centered around third-party games and a mix of both, potentially timed around the delivery of development kits to third-party studios.

Here's a breakdown of the rumored three-phase strategy:
  • Phase 1:
Primarily features first-party Nintendo games, potentially launching alongside the console.
  • Phase 2:
Focuses on third-party games, potentially coinciding with the delivery of Switch 2 development kits to studios in June.
  • Phase 3:
Aims to conclude the year with a mix of both Nintendo and third-party titles, possibly during the holiday season.

I'm not sure if yall believe this yet or not, but I do.

It's real. imho. Phase 1 is MK, game upgrades, BC upgrades with a few cherrypicked 3rd parties ie cyberpunk.

Phase 2/3 has some hints some announcements but also some yet to be revealed. All the "where are the 3rd parties" stuff is by design. First they create fomo with Nintendo games like they did for Switch 1 with Odyssey and BotW selling people on the idea of the console without the overabundance of choice issue being center stage. Some people are easily dissuaded when there are too many options. Having one centralized reason to buy is often a superior way to sell product. It's about not devaluing and not cannibalizing yourself in the marketplace when it is not necessary. It is about having no drought. It is about partnering with 3rd parties to create a pipeline with no drought and no pileups. These things must be planned.

I just want some first party surprises. I don't even care what they'd be at this point.

Though if a man can dream, the best thing would be if they announced Mario Maker 3. I want to make levels with mouse controls. And I wanna play sweaty kaizo levels in a new theme.

Tease that OLED.
You will be lucky if you see that 2 years from now ( if not 3 )

Also, the switch 2 screen is perfectly fine with awesome colors.

Don't give a fuck what oled nerds want .

I have both oled 4K 240 monitor and 4K 144 IPS monitor and I prefer the 4K IPS due to its much higher brightness ( my IPS has high FLAD, so at black scene it actually goes black)

Nash weedle had the conflicting sources, not Nate.

Yeah, makes sense to do it after DK is out. Looking forward to it. Hoping for a MP4 date and some Mario 40th anniversary news.

Gimme my metroidvania drug dose please

And monolith soft while we're at it to start the hype machine for maybe a 2026 release?

I would be fine with Xeno but I would be really curious whatever became of their more serious medieval fantasy RPG from this concept art, if it ever got approved..
