I liked the whole epic battle episode but I really would have enjoyed just more story development. I guess 1 battle a season is alright.
The biggest problem with Season 2 is not enough Dany and Jorah.
There's like nothing going on over there, let em be.
Man, I want Jean Reno to be in this show now.
After all those off-screen battles we really deserved this one.I liked the whole epic battle episode but I really would have enjoyed just more story development. I guess 1 battle a season is alright.
Standard TV thread practice, I think. Just put it behind a link, so those of us who want to can check it out.Well... it's not like the promo is a book spoiler, and the thread title says "NO BOOK SPOILERS"....
But okay, I won't post any more.
You're starting to like that bitch that ordered the butchering of a dozen kids? Right.
Also, you should know by now why Cersei dislikes Tyrion that much. It hasn't really been kept under the rug, so to speak.
He could play a mysterious milk-drinking loner that teams up with Arya and teaches her how to assassinate people!Man, I want Jean Reno to be in this show now.
Pretty much. I'm not annoyed with Dany like so many others, but she hasn't had much to do for weeks and weeks now. Things in Qarth are moving very slowly. There's like nothing going on over there, let em be.
I'd say he was very agitated even before that, see the confrontation with Bronn. My impression is that he's had enough of King's Landing and the Lannisters, and that his breakdown was mostly precipitated by his affection for Sansa (who was almost raped just some hours before that).
I thought it was the man on fire that rattled him. Maybe it is his weakness because of what happened to him as a child.
Didn't Joffrey order the murder of the bastards?

Anyone else surprised at how close Harrenhal is to King's Landing? I had the impression that it'd take several days to travel that distance, but Tywin didn't seem to take that long. Maybe I'm just spreading everything out in my head.

If you look at HBO's map Harrenhal is not all that far from King's Landing. Based on episode 8 both when Tywin left and the comments by Stannis and Davos on how far out they were it seems Tywin was riding somewhere between 2 and 4 days. I can find it totally believable that he made it there when he did.
I hope he isn't gone for good.
Isn't she owed one more name?

Didn't Tywin say he was going to catch the wolf off guard? Arya seemed pretty sure he was going north.
It's still every bit as impressive after successive views. The way it travels above water and ravages Stanni's fleet is incredible. Even the sound was freaky and oddly different, as if wildfire were something more than just a mix of chemicals (I'm going to go out on a limb and say that pyromancers are actually recreating dragon's breath/saliva).the wildfire explosion was one of the coolest visual effects i've seen in a long time. i literally yelled "HOLY SHIT!" out loud
I thought that's what he said too. Maybe he does know who Arya is and was trying to feed her false information to send to her brother. I'm reaching, I know.

No way Tywin would abandon such a tremendously valuable hostage. At very least she'd be caged.
I was thinking he was saying that in connection to his options on hindsight.
He also could have changed his mind. I still can't see by the map how he hooked up with Tyrell in time to go back to King's Landing unless they were coming to meet him or still leaving Renly.

I was thinking that but until the last minute he hadn't set a plan in place so his plans could have still changed. From the conversation with his men, there's no indication he was meeting up with Tyrell for a planned attack whether it was against Robb or StannisI'm guessing the Tyrell stuff was set into motion by Little Finger

That part was sooo good.

That's what the whole no honor thing was about. Helping her escape cost more than 3 lives. He had to choose his name as one or the the escape which costs many lives.I think helping her escape used up her last name. Not sure, can anyone clear it up?
Yeah, all Tywin said is that he wants to be on the move for a night before Robb finds out, I think what he feared that if Robb finds out too fast, Robb might march behind him and take his army in the rear before he gets to Kings Landing, and that would be really bad because then he'd lose his forces, and King's Landing will fall too. So even if we wasn't marching at Robb Stark, he still wants his movement hidden from him.
The casting folk on GoT love their adult entertainers.
Bronn's nude girl from "Blackwater" is Sahara Knite.
The girl that Ros brutally spanks in front of Joffrey is Maisie Dee.
Tyrion's girlfriend is Sibel Kekilli.
And Esmé Bianco, Ros, is a Burlesque performer.
