If you are ever in the Smurf Vector system, visit Smurftopia. There is Iridium and these Copper spheres floating randomly in pretty much every direction.

Smurftopia looks awesome

I am moving back to my house after an extension, and I have a surround sound system (New Yamaha receiver but old Onkyo speakers), Off topic, but what is the game like in surround sound?

I am debating whether I should upgrade the speakers or get PSVR, but It seems unlikely No Mans Sky will be able to play on PSVR

Hmm, what's this? I've been running then jetpacking, but is there a way to move quicker?

- start sprinting
- press R1 to 'strike' with your weapon (makes you lunge forward quickly)
- press X to jetpack immediately after

You'll go flying forward at high speed and at a 45 degree angle, rather than straight up if you just walk/run still and press X

I'm
Ok, so I'll be starting my first time in the afternoon. ...

Things I've learned to do/not to do by reading this thread:

1. Do NOT upgrade to the pre-order ship until after you build the hyperdrive and have the blueprint.

2. Do NOT enter a black hole with 3 waypoints already set.

3. Don't obsess too much over collecting everything as inventory fills quickly and resources are plentiful.

4. Make sure to place upgrades near the item that is being upgraded for a better effect.

5. Sprint/Melee/Jump for quicker movement....

Anything else I should be aware of?
would you elaborate on number two please
?
I just got to the anomaly and I picked the black hole option am I fucked ?

Opened the galactic map, and it said "Anamoly detected"...but where is it?

Use l1 or r1 to step through the different modes in the spacemap. I think the second or third alternativ shows waypoints/anomolies.

Edit: Im just guessing but I think that was how I find out wich system it eanted Me to go to.

Man constant crashes today :(

Finally found my first jungle world though! Even if it's not quite what I expected. Whole planet is a deep dark red colour and prone to extreme wind storms.

thx, will try that later.

They need to give us the ability to move components like jetpacks and hyperdrive around within the inventory system. Certain upgrades require that they be right next to the device you are trying to upgrade and its impossible with how things are laid out. I literally can't put a jetpack upgrade right next to the jetpack because the game already put another item there that can't be moved... and it's stuff that I can't disassemble.

Good but I'm not blown away by it.

I'm certain that's what's happened. I need to know what I can do to get a hyper drive. Where should I look for a blue print? I've tried resetting my ps4 as suggested by Sean but that didn't do anything.

Sorry to say it, but you may have to delete your save and start again.

This issue has been discussed before in this thread though, I think there's places you can look before restarting. People found blueprints in locked mining facilities on planets, I think?

I didnt say new things to do, I said finding new things. So many crazy variations on the planets, I just came across one with Vortex Cubes everywhere, so I parked up at a trade post and commenced farming lol.

I recognise most people hate that type of gameplay, hence the backlash this game has gotten, but I really enjoy it and find it relaxing. Just after selling around 50 of those Cubes, I entered a cave system and there were Graviton Balls all over the place. Yes, I'm wierd, I like boring things, shoot me.

If you're having fun then good

but like for me there's just so little there and no sense of wonder whatsoever.. the planets are different colors and stuff, yay

it feels appropriate as like an early access $15 title that still needs a year of additions to be considered retail

I had an awesome experience yesterday.

I was on a highly radioactive planet, dove into a lake to activate a beacon and got completely disoriented. (Btw, the algorithm does a great job with underwater flora - it looks stunning.) Couldn't find my ship and the icon had gone missing so I ended up walking / swimming in the wrong direction until I was three minutes away. By this stage I was getting radiation critical warnings, had lost my life from falling from multiple jagged cliffs, was being pestered by highly aggressive creatures and was on the verge of death. There was no shelter anywhere and I was panicking, hopping from cliff to cliff near the water looking for any shelter at all. I have an upgraded scanner so when it says there's nothing nearby you KNOW there's nothing nearby. I was unsure if I should just wait it out and accept my death, it was that hopeless.

Right as I was about to die, I saw something glowing in the ground. Not a mineral. Looked like a tiny crevice with a bioluminescent plant below. I leap off the cliff, shoot a grenade beneath me, and it opens up a hole into a tiny cave pocket as i had hoped. Unfortunately, the cave is full of highly radioactive water and I land right in it. Was sure that would kill me but I desperately look around, and there's one tiny shelf to stand on. I zip up there just in time, and my radiation level starts decreasing. It was a close run thing.

When my radiation level is back normal I jump into the water and swim through what turns out to be an underwater cave system back out into the lake I was originally in.

Wish the game had more exciting moments like that. Very cool.

Been trying to get Iridium but having no luck. Im looking for potato asterois but its always copper.

They dont spawn in every system?

Someone posted about potentially breaking Atlas progression before. Can anyone elaborate on it? It's making me nervous

It has to do with
not having 10 atlas stones with you when you visit the 10th atlas station. Apparently that will break the atlas quest and you can never return to it?

About to embark on a mission towards the Galactic core. I have my Hyper drive TAU ready to blast a path straight there.
See ya'll in a week...

If you sell any Atlas stones you can buy more at a space station so don't worry too much!

The previous poster alluded to
If you talk to the Atlas station and have less than 10 Atlas stones in your inventory you will fail the quest and can't talk to the station again. Is that true? Is there any warning before you talk to the 10th station that you need 10 stones?

If you read the text as you go along, you'll know.

wait a second, you have to keep all of them? You only visit 10? I thought selling a few didnt matter, since I thought I'd be visiting like 50 of them before reaching the end. Yikes... that means I'm gonna have to spend like 4 million units alone on two Atlas Stones =(

Yeah it becomes a little apparent. You should just buy the Atlas Stones first before entering the Atlas Station if your worried. That way you won't fail.

Yeah you need them all. Luckily I haven't sold any of mine because it looks to be a pain buying them back.

I found Space Station that will pay a 120% premium for Pu (it puts a star on high priced items), and a planet a short 2 second industry warp away with plenty.

I've become a Pu farmer!

I'm not even sure finding the blueprint will work. I found one and it didnt show up anywhere in my X or Sqaure button crafting options after taking the pre-order ship right away and spending a few hours traveling. I was forced to delete and start over.

The problem is
I knew I could just buy more Atlas stones later, so I've sold a few... and I don't remember how many I sold so I won't be sure that the 10th atlas station is actually the 10th as I haven't been writing down how many I've been to

On my third system. Landed on a moon with 300+ degrees Celsius storms. How the hell am I going to be able to explore this place? How does life survive here?

I find it a bit annoying that the temperature the game tells you a planet is apparently has absolutely zero bearing on what can survive there. These extreme temperatures only hurt you it seems, no other lifeforms give a crap. Other things being unrealistic doesn't bother me, but this does a bit.

Ah ok I feel for you man. That's a bit of a pain... just buy them before your next visit just to be sure. Grind the fuck out of a planet.

I'm still really enjoying this. There's no doubt the gameplay systems can get repetitive, but I don't find it any more of a problem than in other games where you shoot people for 6 hours, or RPGs where you do the same attack for hours.

I don't know why people are losing their shit from both perspectives, for me at least the game matches pretty well what those "four pillars" are. I can understand being disappointed if you're expecting Star Citizen like depth, but we've already got Star Citizen anyway. I've never played other "survival" games so I don't know if that has an impact on not being burnt out, but I find it a very pleasant experience.

In some ways though I'd love a mode where they go REALLY crazy with the proc gen - I'm talking you can potentially get screwed entirely by not having resources, having an insane landscape, crazy aggressive swarms of creatures, no life/outposts/anything etc. It does feel a little like they're looking after the player.

Other than seeing a bit more variety in space station interiors I'm pretty content at the moment, and very happy with my purchase.

I have found a ton of variety - my favorite vistas are from moons (captured the satellite in mid transition)

This scary fucker was hunting me - not sure you can appreciate its scale

I think one thing people need to get over is just not 100% each planet and just exploring because there is some crazy stuff out there.

I sent hello games a support ticket I hope I don't have to restart. That would suck so hard

To be sure
If I talk to the 10th Atlas station and I don't have the stones, I can't say "i'll be right back with them"? It just fails the quest entirely? Is there any indication I'm at the 10th station before I talk to it? Like does the Atlas thing in the main chamber have a particular shape/look to it? This is fucking AWFUL game design

Anyone know a good place to get copper? I tried looking out in space as thats where I found it before, but this afternoon I tried again and it was just iridium and iron for days.

I think you may need to jump to a different system if the big rocks around aren't yielding what you want.
