Same, but I'm guessing you need a warp drive that will let you warp to the Green/Blue/Purple Stars. I don't have the recipe or the ship that can do that. It says I need Warp Drive Theta and I have Sigma.

Definitely not. I only had the standard warp drive and found a planet with Gravitino balls on them. They give over 30k a piece and they are literally right next to each other. I run to one, pick it up and can already see the next one. The planet has frenzied sentinels though, and every time you pick up one of the balls it spawns 1 laser dog and 2-3 flying drones. With the sprint dash it's pretty easy (and fun!) to run away though.

Just wanna echo that you can get the atlas pass v2 from operation centers. Just got mine earlier so it definitely works.

So I hate to say this, but I feel like the game is running out of steam for me already. Without any kind of driving purpose beyond, Make fuel - jump to next system - something find a big Atlas thing that tells me to keep on keeping on - repeat, I'm not feeling very compelled. Is this really the state of things as you progress, of do things change up?

Not sure if I'm gonna keep going with the game. I've made it my primary goal for the last 2 hours to find a new ship since I desperately need to upgrade from preorder one but every transmission signal has been leading to a shelter which has been frustrating. Planet variety hasn't been doing it for me

Just make do for now. The crashed ships need a lot of work. I just bought a new one and it cost me about 6 million for a ship with 31 inventory slots.

After about 15 to 20 hours, I think I'm done with the long term sessions. I love the experience, I really do. It's just everytime I stop playing for hours, I think back and go, what happened and why did I play that long? It's the most fun yet utterly pointless game I've played I think ever. Which is fine. It gave me a wonderful sense of awe and still does. Looking forward to the future updates and additions. Such a great solid foundation really. I don't regret my time with it and I know everytime I play it can suck me in for a few hours.

I do wish we had a list of where all resources come from. Like how platinum is found in the plants and zinc. I try to build new stuff and have no clue where some of these resources come from or what to look for.

I noticed my counter only went up on planets with frenzied sentinels. Try that.

Thanks, I'll try it but I'm guessing it won't work either.

The problem is that the milestone just hasn't, and won't, pop. On my milestone stat screen, it says:

SURVIVED 1.0 SOLS IN EXTREME CONDITIONS
NEXT MILESTONE IN 0.0 SOLS

It's been like that for the last 5-6 hours of playtime, despite me visiting various other extreme planets in the meantime. I've been searching all over the place and can't find anyone else who has had the same issue.

Wow the warp reactor tau is a game changer, can hop like 4-5 points at once. Need some copper and I'll be able to put the sigma next to it as well.

I find my shipwrecks from those Bypass Chip scanners with the laser shooting straight up in the air.. select Scan for transmissions and then follow up.

Not always shipwrecks, but a lot of the time they are.

downed ships will only ever be a + / - 1 or 2 slots of your own, if you want a vastly bigger ship you need to pony up and buy one, or else you'll need to do 5 upgrades through crashed ships to just to upgrade 6 or 7 slots.

Ok So I need to upgrade. Shouldn't have sold my iridium. I know sometimes you can find it in asteroid fields.

That's amazing. I'm actually naming all my planets and systems around Super Smash Brother Melee events and players. So if you see a system or planet that starts with SSBM, that's me haha.
My home system got named GAF, and in it is a planet named GAF Banheim, where various species of moderators dwell. Beware the Gafasarus Duckrollicus and Gafasarus Xanderus.

17 hours in. Got to my first Gek world. I had gotten about 150 words so far and I was getting to the point where I could figure out most sentences, so I was kind of bummed to realize there's a whole second language lol.

Hmm interesting. I've done a whole bunch of the number riddles but all I've gotten were the crashed ships from transmission towers and ruins from an observatory.

I'm still super far away from the center though, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Farmed some money now and I will buy a ~40 slot ship tomorrow and then farm some crashed ships.
Yeah thats what Im doing now when it happened. I been doing transmisions all day. Im done the atlas path, maybe that has something to do with it. As if it spawned under water. Ive been seeing dead portals all over the place too.

I wish that scanning was more fleshed out.

I would love to be able to scan for a specific resource and then seek it out, it's becoming annoying not having any copper.

Yeah it was actually easy to just mine the aluminum, nickel, and iridium. Copper seems to be eluding me. I just fly around in space and if you see a big asteroid stop and shoot at it. I do have a bunch of phase beam upgrades that came with my ship that basically allow me to continuously shoot. Nickel seems to be most common but iridium was fairly common too.

Sorry to repost this question for a new page. But it's really bugging me.

Evening all, me again.

Another day another question.

So when you're in the Galaxy map, and you press up to search for anomalies. Then it tells me to press right for the nearest one.
But when i do it just seems to be a normal star system. What am i missing. ?

I've unlocked a shit ton of observatories and other buildings that unlock signals.

As always thanks for your time and sorry if my question is poorly articulated.

I wish I could just go to my Discoveries menu by pressing the options button, select one of the systems I've discovered and select it and an option comes up "Mark this system as a waypoint on the galactic map"

So I could return to a previous system I visited. This will especially important if the future update includes base building mechanics. Because you know, what would be the point of constructing a base on a planet if you can't easily return and visit said world to begin with.

I spent the last 20 minutes trying to find the Valhalla System I discovered to return to that Earth-like planet with green grass and blue oceans and had no such luck.

I should have never left it.

Gonna ask again if anyone knows - when you scan a system it will pop up an icon showing, in my case, always an abandoned building. Thing is that icon is permanent till you go there and it's an annoying thing always on my screen. I went there first this last system I discovered, and of course its underwater. Anyone found a way to make it stop showing this red house icon aside from going to that location?

If you like a system set a way point!!

I have a way point set to my home system just in case I ever wanna go back. I've traveled pretty far from it but the way point remains.

What I've read about that Milestone is that the timer resets anytime you die or leave the planet. It represents the longest you have survived. It works differently to all the other Milestones.
To max out that Milestone you have to stay on the planet for 8 hours.

I think in your case you will need to go onto an extreme planet and then wait. Once you survive 1.0 Sols again, the milestone will start to increase.

I am really enjoying this game. It scratches an itch that Elite hasn't been able to in exploration for me. The planets are awesome to me and I feel I've barely seen anything yet.
Helps I'm not having any issues playing it on my PC.

So I unlocked something that said "a gateway appears to a distant place in the cosmos" and Im like OMG its a portal. It had a monolith icon. It was under water. Nothing there.....

This phrasing is totally misleading for the players. Every time you "connect" to a base "terminal" the game tells you that "a new place in the distant cosmos" or "a new location in a far away world" etc. Then it cuts to some kind of cutscene and then you get a new waypoint - on the same planet that you are on! -

I think they put in so many buildings and locations on the planets in the .03 update that the game will never point you to another solar system. It seems broken, as if they had greater plans when they wrote that line, but forgot to change the text when they decreased the scope of that mechanic.

Does it? I thought it just constantly reminded you, but even then I kinda just wanna know if a planet even has copper before I land on it.

other than asteroids easiest sign of copper i find it flying low and looking for floating potatoes.

Shame theres not a resource scanner upgrade for the ship where you can scan a specific planet to find its resources before flying to it and landing, but then that would probably lead to people flying straight past 50% of the planets.

I have had a few different instances where i have had a new location pop up on a different planet or moon in that system.

Yeah, I think the galactic map stuff is actually super bad. I wish it was just easier to choose what you wanted to choose

has anyone seen a compression screenshot of the fov from ps4 pc... link? i want see just how big 100 is on pc compared to ps4?

Do you mean the atlas interface? I screwed up and sold my atlas ball then started following the path to the core....

If you press R1 when you have the map up you can see the atlas interface I jumped back and go it.

Nah, I mean I didnt even talk to the thing at the very begining that gives you the atlas core. I wasnt paying attention and didnt see it.

:(

Am I screwed?

I believe there are actually THREE languages, one for each faction, but there could be more?

Anomalies are a special sphered space station. You should see a marker on the system, its a purple icon.

Got this game on friday really enjoying it (couple of crashes not withstanding) until sunday night rolls around and it decides to hardlock my ps4. Restarted it and I'm met with an error code and a dead harddrive.
First time in twenty five years of gaming I've ever had something this bad happen. Refund requested from Sony. Doubt I'll get it but worth a shot. Totally ruined my interest to play it. Sucks.

God damn, now I'm afraid to play it anymore. I got a couple freezes today at save points. I thought it hardlocked, but it ended up popping the error screen after about 20 seconds. I think this one needed another delay but Sony wanted it out the door.

Next system was full of copper. Have the sigma and tau now!

Lol I just jumped from one Atlas Interface to another 5 systems away.

I swear it said a gateway appears. I've been doing these transmision > observatory > ruin or transmision > tower > crashed ship things for days now. This one caught me off guard. Now you got me second guessing myself tho.

I also dont recall jt saying ruin on the icon. Ill keep on doing them and see if it happens again.

Nah, that's pretty much it. I'm in the same boat. Normally looking for Upgrades, getting better ships and improving my tools/weapons would be enough motivation for me but here it just seems utterly meaningless.

Sure, I can upgrade my Mining Laser but did I ever actually feel the need to mine faster or do I even notice the change after applying an Upgrade? Not really. Even worse - why do I even mine to begin with? To be able to apply upgrades that allow me to mine faster? Or upgrade my weapon when I never actually want to use it because it's not a fun shooter?

I farmed for a few hours and got me a big 24-slot spaceship and it felt...exactly the same. Sure, I had more inventory space and that helped a lot but flying around in it felt exactly the same, fighting in Space felt exactly the same. In games like these I want to look at my Progress after 20 hours and realize how much my character has grown since the start and how much more efficient, faster, stronger etc. he is. I don't get that feeling at all with this game. I feel exactly the same as I did after the first hour.

Adding to this problem is the infuriating fact that Upgrades actually take up Inventory slot. That means everytime I want to take a step forward and use a new weapon or ship I've found/built also means losing the progress I've made so far, adding another level of inventory management to a game so very full of boring inventory management. I cannot understand why finding an upgrade and using the necessary ressources to actually build it doesn't allow me to permantently apply it to my character.

Because everything but simply following the next waypoint and travelling to the center of the galaxy feels so devoid of progress it eventually turns into the only thing you actually try to achieve with the effect that you only ever try to look for the same 3 ressources to built a new Warp Core, Warp to the next System, rince and repeat. And at that point the game loses all of it's fascination and charm and becomes a sluggish, uninteresting grind.

Still can't decide whether to buy this or not. Can anyone who's played for substantial time tell me whether the game becomes deeper as it goes on?

Edit: ha, read the post just above mine.
