No Man's Sky |OT2| Maths Effect

Oh come on!!!

That's how I got my 48 slot Yellow Submarine. It stops on a dime.

This happened to me the other day. Just leave the planet, or restart your game.

Yeah, I flew up and the ground returned, but when I landed it glitched out again. I honestly think the algorithm had a feedback loop when this planet was made. The game can't tell what is supposed to be visible ground and what isn't.

I've right royally fucked up though as when I find a new ship, I dont have enough shit to repair it.

Oh well...

I played about 20 hours and haven't seen any of the bolded. Not everyone who has a criticism of the game are basing it off 15 minutes of streaming.
I've got the 34 pirates vs 6 trade ship battle Twice ans I loved it each time.

Both times I protected the trade ships but I might go with the pirates next time.

I did however see the big space sentinel ships in other situations.

I'm having a really strange bug with already discovered systems.
If I enter a system which is already discovered and I check the discoveries menu, there's nothing there. On the star map it displays correctly and if I enter the system it also says "Discovered by player xxx on xxxx" correctly. This has already happened with three different systems discovered by three different players. Has anybody else encountered this or can someone check if this happens with them as well?

I had that issue a few days ago but then it was fine the next evening.

Is there some kind of threshold to how extreme the planet's conditions have to be to count towards "Extreme Survival"-milestone? Is it always bad enough if your suit's Hazard Protection units are being exhausted?

No excuse to have such garbage patch notes. That feature's there for a reason.

I think, Sean Murray and Hello Games, have become sort of a villain figure. I mean, the must be feed up about the justified and unjustified backlash, insults, treats, etc. I think at this point they just don't give a damn about the people how actually enjoy the game. His page went silent, his tweeter went silent. I mean, I know that people want answers but I guess that train is long gone.

A couple of questions about
black holes

1) I asked
Nada to find me a black hole
, but the coordinates didn't appear in the galactic map. Happened twice already, what am I doing wrong?
2) I'm 160k ly away from the center, I jump by ~1600 ly with the ship
and no more than 2000 with black holes (if my calcolations are correct) but it's taking me forever: do some black holes get you radically closer (like tens of thousands ly closer)?
How did people reach the center on day1? I don't get it.

Every planet has resources to repair the engine and thrusters except possibly heridium. And you can buy that at trade posts.

How do you guys still find reasons to keep playing this.

Same way you find a reason to ask probably. Self hatred?

But seriously, I play here and there, in search of that super interesting planet. I had one in my starter system and haven't seen one since.

Dismantle everything on the old ship for materials. You can swap between your old ship and the new one as often as you want and it's the one you accept last and fly off with that counts. You get most of what you need that way and i only fix basic deflectors, pulse engines and launch engines when i'm ship hunting so i don't use much materials.

The need of hurtling towards new discovers? Hope that Hello Games patch the game with the ideas that they have for 3 years? Final Fantasy XV isn't out? The game isn't bad once you make peace with yourself. I think the hatred toward the developer is one thing but to taint the game with that hatred is another. People are full of biases, they think if ALL the things that this man sold about the game (i.e. Portals, Big Sentinels, Flying monsters, Dinosaurs, factions, etc) would make the game drastically different. But remember the core game is what we have. And if you don't like the core game, the game can have all of those things and beyond and you will get tired too.

I can bet that if the factions, classes, portals, etc. were in the game since patch 1, the people now will be complaining about these things. "Gush, only 3 factions? "Only 3 types of ship?" "These portals are dumb", "Well again a planet with big creatures I want planets with no creatures or weird little creatures, this is not real", "This multiplayer is dumb, you can only seem like a ghost of the other what a rip off of dark souls".

People are never going to be fulfill. Always looking for what is lack instead of what they have.

If this pach fixes PS4 version, I'm hoping future updates add content.
As divisive as this game is and as much as it disappoints me, I'll admit that there's times when it's something very special indeed.

This isn't really the game to use this defense with. I actually do like the game, even though I'm disappointed by the huge mistake Hello Games walked right into. But when people pay sixty bucks for a game based on media still being used right now to sell the product, and it's all a misrepresentation, they're gonna be mad.

Am I imagining things or stuff like recharging weapons etc a lot faster?

edit: Scanning birds works just fine. Height/weight swap fixed.

Has anyone run into the "destroy a pillar of resources only to stop gathering them halfway through even though there's still a ton left" bug?

I've had it happen a ton, I'll be blasting giant pillars of Aluminium or something, and at first it'll let me collect them like normal but at some point it just stops. Inventory isn't full, still tons of resource to mine, but the pillar will simply destroy and I'll get nothing from it.

Super annoying when I'm at like 189/200 needed for an upgrade but it's a rare element so I get stuck even though there's a mass of it right in front of me.

This happens to me too. Don't remember it being like that before.

They also need to fix flying into space when you take off in your ship. So damn annoying.

You know what would be nice?

SOME FUCKING PATCH NOTES SO WE DON'T HAVE TO PLAY DETECTIVE.

Dude, it's EXPLORATION. So meta.

What I noticed so far (1.07 PS4):

- snappier recharging of weapons

- scanning stuff is a lot faster too

- fixed Gek tower glitch

- fixed upload of planets with 0 fauna (these just don't even have the button at all anymore)

- scanning flying creatures works immediately

- the height/weight typo is fixed

Trying to ensure its not just a placebo effect but...

Games seems to run a bit smoother, the dithering effect is better than the last patch which seemed to move the dithering/generation closer.

Birds are easily scannable! Suit mechanized sounds in caves seems different, better...hard to describe.

Flying seems slightly altered, I was able to slow to 10U for quite a bit before deciding to land at an outpost and landing at the proper location to conserve fuel (the call ship post) seems easier (more automated)

Again, just early thoughts and I'm trying to weigh that against any placebo effect that might be effecting my brain. I plan to spend a lot more time today as I just found a great new multi tool to upgrade.

The planet I'm on has some very large pine trees and some huge oaks, so I'm happy they are in the base game just rare.

Edit: things do seem a bit snappier in general, again cautiously, I do believe faster to load into discoveries, quicker acceptance of commands, recharging stuff.

Trying to be objective though.. Back to DetectiveGaf mode now.

Is not a defense for the errors from Hello Games. People that payed for the game have all the reasons to be mad, be critic about it, etc. What I wrote is like a side note. I know that they messed up big time, Sean Murray with his cryptic way of saying things drop the ball. Yes, he lied, yes he was ambiguous. My point is not for defending NMS, is point the nature of people in everything ever mad. You are going to feel -always- empty and bored with time.

I've gotten over my initial disappointment of the game and Sean's promises, all I want is a lot of additional content to be added. Once you settle into the game and accept it for what's there, it can become somewhat relaxing.
It reminds me of the music visualiser that was on the Xbox 360.

They are tough to spot out in the wild. If you have yet to see one then I'm guessing you haven't tried transmission towers. They're the buildings with antennas on top of them, you'll get a waypoint to a crashed ship. Each of the races have a different looking antenna so it'll vary depending on the system.

I get them, but they always just find buildings
