No More Heroes 1 & 2 coming to Steam June 9th

I already have both games on switch after playong them on the wii.
For the people who didn't play them BUY IT, these games are awesome.

Damn that's great. Wonder if that means the third one will come to PC too at some point. If Prime 4 stays in development he'll I may not need to worry about getting a switch if that's the case.

Wow.....didn't expect this news! Big fan of the series, always loved the first one and still have 'unfinished business' with the second one!

How are they going to do the waggle mechanics?

*edit*

Nevermind, watched the trailer. You'll be tilting the L/R sticks quite a bit, from the looks of it.

Either way, I'm in. I loved these games.

Wow this came out of no where. Hopefully this one is a better port because Killer is Dead was rough.

I've got 2 on the Wii, but haven't played it. How do the motion controls work on the Wii version? Being a sword-based game, motion controls don't sound too bad. The PC version would still be tempting though, just for the better resolution and framerate (I'm guessing the Wii version is 30 fps?)

Motion controls are only used as finishers, while attacking with A depending how you hold the remote you do high or low attacks.
When you can finish someone an arrow appears on the screen, make a slicing motion with your wii mote to finish the enemy.
That last hit is really satisfying to perform, something a joystick can't replicate.

Pc getting this and ninja gaiden master collection the same day👍👍👍

Both these games and ninja gaiden have 0 support for mouse and keyboard. Meaning they do not run, at all unless you have a controller to play. That means pretty much nobody will play them on PC. Controller game playing is extremely low on steam overall, according to Valve stats. Which makes perfect sense. A computer uses mouse and keyboard. Not controllers. Buying additional peripherals is certainly a thing, but its not a widespread phenomenon. These jap companies who couldnt tell a computer from their ass simply have ideea what their doing by releasing games which dont work at all with the standard pc equipment. Its like releasing a game on PS5 that only works if you go and buy those m/kb adapters.

I have a controller just like millions of other pc gamers, I'll play them. That "controllers are trash" mentality is a 90's stuff.

I guess you read my post sideways or something. Did anyone said pads are trash ? There are Valve released stats for controller usage in steam. 90% of daily games are played with a mouse and keyboard. Pretty much every genre outside sports are played in a vast majority with mouse and keyboard.

Releasing a game that mandates controllers on PC just means you just ignored 90% of the audience. I mean, Valve placed input stats for developers specifically for this, so they know how the games are played and what to focus on, what to improve. And these guys just release a game thats basically non functional on PC.

Like i said, its like releasing a game on PS5 and Xbox that doesnt work with their controllers. Would you say in that case that you and million others have keyboards and stop living in the 90s ?

Man, bold of you to think 90% of pc gamers don't have controller, or even a $20 Logitech pad. Dozen on console ports are only playable with controllers because the support is a mess, especially Japanese games. Ninja Gaiden especially, you don't want to play that game with a keyboard and PC gamers are ok with that.

I have to ask at this point, are you deficient in any way ? I did not say people dont have gamepads, i did not say pads are trash, i did not say a single fucking thing you keep repeating.

VALVE HAS STATS RELEASED FOR CONTROLLER USAGE ON STEAM. Are you with me yet ? 90% of daily game sessions on steam are played with a MOUSE AND KEYBOARD.

Still with me ? 10% of games played on steam are done with a controller. Thats it.

No, dozens of console ports are only playable with a controller. In fact i cant think of a single game. But you're still missing the point, which is that releasing a game that doesnt work at all with m/kb is basically trowing your game in the bin.

you seem to be the deficient one no understanding that a lot of pc gamers wont care about that shit because they already have a controller and wanna play Ninja Gaiden on pc at last, 500,000 copies guaranteed on pc. This is fucking Ninja Gaiden, it never sells more than 2 million copies, so they're not expecting more than that for a lazy remaster.

Although it's rarely an issue in practice, there are limitations in porting console games to PC.
Modern console controllers support more analog axes, than a conventional keyboard and mouse does.

If a game HEAVILY requires two analog sticks, and two analog triggers, KB/M can't do that.

That statistic is for all games, so games like Dota and Counter Strike which have more than 500k players on any given day will affect it greatly.

In this article Valve mention that specific genres have higher numbers of sessions played with controllers.
"In contrast, many sports and fighting games see over 70% of sessions played with a controller, while racing and skating games can easily have over 90% of players using a controller. On the action and adventure fronts, most 3rd person adventure games see 40-50% of players using a controller, and the majority of FPS games are solidly in the range of 7-8%."

yes. Outside of racing games, all the other genres are played either in majority or by a huge chunk of players with m/kb. Look at the sports and fighting games. 30% are playing with m/kb. So think Fifa or NBA, a third of players are using m/kb. I bet this isnt something most people, especially on fully console forums like this one or reera would have ever thought.

Now look at the 3rd person one, at least half of players, usually more though are playing them with m\kb. Ninja Gaiden will be released in a way that ignores at least 50-60% of its playerbase. This is dumb anyway you look at it.

These stats that Valve made available for devs are awesome. I even saw a dev on reeera say wholy shit, he made some jrpg nes style game and 60% of their players played it with keyboard. And he concluded that maybe if this is the case they should put more effort into this particular input. That is what devs are supposed to do with this info, they see the majority of their players play the game differently than they thought, and they react accordingly.

Yay, I'd prefer to play the originals with the Wiimote but mine is just about going out of commission and I can't find authentic Nintendo stuff mint for less than like 150 with shipping which is ludicrous considering the gazillions out there. Plebs, get a gamepad ffs, lol. Games have been like this on PC for ages, the right tool for the right job. Flight (and mech, and other) sims used to not boot if you didn't have a flight stick or similar connected. It's fine. Even if they add some crappy key presets or you make your own with software you're gonna hate playing it, like Doom with keyboard only, lol.
